TESS VALMORE

SPREITLER/D. CAMPBELL After Campbell took the first round, Spreitler took the lead by winning rounds two and three. The fourth was all Campbell, who sent a hurt Spreitler back to her corner. It was a wary Spreitler who came out for the fifth. She lasted about a minute and after a couple punches to the face, she caught a final right that sent her down for the count

DEUTCH/D.RYAN The bout was even at the end of four. Deutch had a good fifth hurting Ryan and cutting over her right eye. In the sixth, Deutch was hurting Ryan again when she suddenly ate a Ryan right hook, Ryan followed up with left right combination and Deutch went down and out

McCURDY/WATSON A hard working McCurdy had the lead at the halfway point in the fight due to a third round knockdown of Watson. It was a tired McCurdy who came out for the sixth and Watson started to use her for target practice. In the seventh, Watson decked McCurdy. McCurdy didn’t last long in the eighth, when a right-left that sent her down and the bout was over

STONE/PORTMAN Surprisingly, Stone was looking very good in the early fight, taking the first three rounds. Portman started to right the ship by holding Stone to a draw in the fourth. Portman won the fifth and by the end of the sixth was dominating Stone. Half way through the seventh, Portman floored Stone. Stone managed to beat the count, but was an easy target for Portman and the referee stopped the fight

PATENTEE/HUDGENS Panettiere used body work to take the early rounds and have the lead at the end of five. She added to her lead by taking the sixth. Hudgens closed the lead by taking rounds seven and eight, only to have Panettiere win the ninth. A real punching brawl erupted in the final round. Hudgens got the better of the punching and had Panettiere swooning along the ropes. Hudgens continued to pound Hayden until the referee stepped in and stopped the fight. The post fight activity was terrible. Both should be fined for their horrendous behavior

MORETZ/WINTER The New Blood Flyweight final This was a good close fight. Well I mean the rounds were close, but Moretz was coming out on top and had the lead through five. The fight definitely turned in Moretz favor in the seventh when she oped a cut over Winter’s right eye. Before the start of the ninth, a doctor was called to inspect the eye and allowed the fight to continue. It didn’t last long. A right to the stomach sent Winter down to the canvas where she stayed

BENZ/S.MILLER Another good fight. I had the fight even at the end of four. Benz had Miller hurt and ready to go in the fourth, but didn’t close the fight out. Benz continued to pound Miller in the fifth. At the beginning of the sixth we had a hurt Miller and an exhausted Benz coming out. Half way through the round, Miller landed a left uppercut that sent Benz helplessly into the ropes. Miller then pounded Benz until the referee stepped in and stopped the bout

PIPES/RONAN Ronan entered the bout undefeated in two. She is now undefeated in three.  Pipes had the lead through five although Ronan won the fifth In the sixth, Ronan caught Pipes with a right uppercut to the chin and the fight was over with Pipes being counted out

MENDES/FREGE No use in wasting a lot of time on this one. It was a Frege fight. That means it was a Frege loss. She managed to last through four. She didn’t last the fifth and as usual she was counted out.

SANTORO/PELTZ A pair of newbies. The bout was even at the end of four. In the fifth.Santoro landed a right to Peltz chin that sent her down. Peltz barely managed to beat the count and was saved by the bell. That just delayed the inevitable. In the sixth, another Santoro right hook to the chin knocked Peltz out cold

HOLLAND/VIKANDER The fight was even at the end of four. The fifth went Vikander’s way as she had Hollard hurt and swaying at the end of the round. Holland was slow out of her corner and the beginning of the sixth and ran into a Vikander blitz that ended when Vikander drove a right deep into Holland’s stomach and Holland went down in a heap unable to rise

DOBREV/RICKARDS There was some hard punching in this bout. Rickards had the lead at the end of five due to her fifth round knockdown of Dobrev. Dobrev spent the sixth avoiding Holland and trying to get her legs back She was successful At the end of the seventh, Dobrev sent Holland to the canvas only to have Holland saved by the bell. The bell didn’t save the beaten Holland in the eighth, as a Dobrev punched Holland into a helpless state and the referee called a halt to the fight giving Dobrev a TKO win

TERRELL/J. L. COLEMAN JMD TERRELL

FONSECA/E. HENSTRIDGE This bout was all Henstridge as long as it lasted which was three rounds. Henstridge finished off Fonseca with a right to the chin late in the third round. This was Fonseca’s fifth straight loss. She really needs to rethink her FCBA career.

MINHEE/MARKLE Markle took the first two rounds with Minhee coming back to take the third and fourth. Minhee had a particularly good fourth sending a badly beaten Markle back to her corner. Minhee continued her assault in the fifth, finally sending Markle crashing to the canvas with a right uppercut. Minhee KO5

BAYLEY/ASUKA Asuka had the lead at the end of three. That was the highpoint of her night.
Bayley teed off on her in the fourth, however Asuka managed to finish the round. She didn’t finish the fifth as a Bayley right hook ended her night

GILLIES/NIGRI The bout was even at the end of four. Gillies took the lead by flooring Nigri for a five count in the fifth, however Nigri survived the round.; The sixth was a very active round that narrowly went to Nigri. In the seventh, Gillies had Nigri in a bad way when she missed a right and caught Nigri right to her ribs which turned the fight around. Nigri took over and sent Gilles down for the count with a right to the stomach

MCADAMS/SPEARS A bout between two top bantams. It was even at the end of four and still even at the end of six In the seventh, they both launched big right hands. Britney missed. Rachel didn’t. Spears went down on her back and was unable to beat the count. MaAdams finally beats Britney after three straight losses

SCODELARIO/LOVATO This was a good fight with close rounds, but Lovato was doing the most damage. She floored Scodelario in the fourth and had her ready to go in the seventh.
After missing chances to end the bout in the fourth and seventh, Lovato finally cashed in in the eighth with a right hook to the cheek that ended Scodelario’s night

L0PILATO/GRETZKY When you need a win over a name, dial Gretzky. She has never won a fight. Lipilato did get a scare in the third when Gretzky decked her for a seven count. By the end of the fifth, Gretzky was in big trouble. A couple shots to the stomach in the sixth, sent Gretzky down to defeat that everyone knew was coming sooner or later

LYNCH/WATERHOUSE The fight was even at the end of three. In the fourth, Lynch hurt Waterhouse with a right to the chin. In the fifth. Lynch landed the same punch. While Waterhouse survived the punch in the fourth, she didn’t survive this one as she kissed the canvas for a needless count

AMBROSIO/COOK After the two split the first two rounds. Ambrosio took over and gave Cook a beating in the third that had the referee looking closely. A doctor was called to check on Cook. He let the fight continue but it didn’t last long. A right uppercut flattened Cook Ambrosio gets a KO4

SWIFT/R. B. SMITH Before the fight. I had no idea who Smith was. I still don’t. She did manage to give Swift a bad time through four. Smith had built up a head of confidence however that all came to an end in the fifth when Swift had enough is Smith and let her see what a top lightweight could go. Smith didn’t like it and ended up on a knee after the bell Swift didn’t let the sixth last two long as she finished Smith early in the round with a right uppercut

REN/B. HADID A fine bout. Ren had a slight lead at the end of four due to a fourth round knockdown. She still had that slight lead at the end of six. In the seventh, a free swinging exchange went Ren’s way and Hadid went down unable to beat the count. Hadid is a very. very unlikely fighter, but that is a story for another day

AGDAL/HOOPES After being even at the end of two, Hoopes had a particularly good round in the third. That led to overconfidence and that led to disaster as a big Agdal right to the face left Hoopes out of it and Adgal pounded her until the referee stopped the bout

J. ALEXANDER/K. JENNER This was a close bout while it lasted. The rounds were tough to score,  but I had Alexander with a slight lead at the end of four. Alexander clearly had the best of the fifth. Alexander came out the aggressor in the sixth and quickly ended bout with a haymaker to the head

RHODA/GALE Rhoda, another new welter looking to build a reputation on bottom feeding. Gale had lost six in a row and hadn’t had a win in four years. Make that lost seven in a row. Gale managed to hold her own through three. Rhoda took over in the fourth and dominated the fight while it lasted. She decked Gale in the fifth and knocked her out in the sixth with a right hook

AZALEA/BEYONCE A very active bout. I had Azalea in the lead at four. Beyonce decked Azalea in the fifth. Azalea came back to floor Beyonce in the sixth. In the seventh, an exchange of uppercuts went Azalea’s way and the fight was over with Beyonce laying on the canvas out.

NICHOLS/KERR This was an unexpected bout at least it was to me. Kerr is on somewhat or a roll. She stayed on a roll, not that it was easy. The bout was even at the end of four. In the fifth Kerr got Nichols on the ropes and went to work with a brutal attack that ended with a blockbuster right to the jaw and left Nichols unable to beat the count

ATKINSON/FERGUSON After three uneventful rounds, Atkinson decked Ferguson in the fourth. Atkinson took the fifth but Ferguson came back to win the sixth and also took the seventh. In the eighth, a big right to Atkinson’s chin sent her into dreamland where she stay as she was counted out. Ferguson KO8

LAW/RIGHETTI Regan is like Righetti. It’s just hard to bet against her. Law decked her in the first round and won the first three to take a big lead. Despite that,  you had a feeling It was going to end badly for Law. Well Regan took the fourth and fifth. In the sixth, she simply pounded Law down and senseless. Law was counted out

RIGHETTI/LOKEN Speak of the devil and here she is. Kind of a stay busy fight for Righetti. Loken can hit, but she has a fatal weakness. A glass jaw which led to her fall from the elite. It was just a matter to time before Righetti found the weakness. Surprisingly, Loken decked Righetti in the first and had a wide lead at the end of four. Righetti got on track working Loken over in the fifth. Righetti continued whacking away at Loken in the sixth until Loken finally went down to defeat, punched out on the canvas

ATKINSON/NOLIN Everyone knows how much a dislike Nolin. Needless to say I enjoyed this bout. Nolin had a slight lead at the end of three. Atkinson took the lead back by flooring Nolin for an eight count in the fourth. The ref wanted to know if Nolin wanted to quit before the fifth began. She said no. Bad decision. It didn’t take long for Atkinson to cold cock her, Once again Nolin didn’t foul and she didn’t win. Fouling has been her specialty which seems to have lost. The FCBA is better for it

M. RYAN/LANCASTER Lancaster’s recent 15 minutes of fame is gone. She quickly shot up winning a welter tournament and then the championship and just as quickly has fallen. The smart money was on Ryan. The smart money was right. It was a good bout, but somewhat sloppy. By the end of the fourth, Lancaster was looking the worse for ware. A pair of body hooks sent Lancaster down for the count early in the fifth

BUSH/N. BELLA JMD TITLE BUSH

DANES/MITCHELL The D-Train had to get derailed sooner or later. This was the time in a great fight. The bout was even at the end of four. Danes took the lead by decking Mitchell in the fifth. Danes also took the sixth which Mitchell spent trying to recover. Recover she did. Mitchell took the seventh and the eighth. In the ninth, some Mitchell body work left Danes’ head unprotected and a series of hooks sent Danes to the canvas from which she couldn’t rise. Mitchell is the new bantam champ

LIVELY/ARTERTON For the lightweight title. Another good bout. The bout was even at the end of four. Lively won rounds five and six to take a good lead. Arterton came right back and took rounds seven and eight to even the fight. In the ninth. Arterton landed a big right cross that ended Lively’s title reign as she went down and out

UPTON/G. HADID I had to question this bout ever being made. It seemed like a joke. It should have been, but it was anything but. Hadid had the lead at four however, Upton took the lead by flooring Hadid in the fifth and taking the sixth. Hadid then decked Upton in the seventh and took the eighth and ninth rounds to have a big lead going into the final round. All she had to do was was stay away from Upton. She tried, but very late in the round Upton finally caught her with a right hand and the fight was over with Upton retaining her title. The question here is,  did this fight tell us more about Hadid or more about Upton?. I am sure welters were watching this fight closely. Upton looks much more vulnerable now than she did prior to the fight.
