(Team Canada vs Front Street Japan)
Intro: The second bout on the card sees another new signing for Team Canada Sarah Gadon take on Japan's Chisato Morishita. Both hoping for a win as this is Sarah's debut and Chisato has lost her three bouts coming into this one. This bout has the rumour mills running as Hamada and Tapping both were said to have bickered during the negotiations on things like if there would be a rematch in Japan, the referee, judges, you name it they argued about it. But it finally got made and while each girl quietly trained, each was reportedly confident when they did speak to the media.
Fight night and out comes Chisato first with Hamada proudly waving the Japan flag to boos from parts of the crowd. Surprisingly the crowd had a strong Asian presence in one part until the cameras zoomed in to see that it was Front Street Japan fighters that were in the crowd to support their girl. Chisato quickly bumped her gloves with the fists of the nearest to the ring FSJ girls before Hamada shouted at her to focus and they climbed into the ring. Chisato is wearing a white sports bra with matching lyric shorts with FSJ in lipstick red on her booty and red gloves to finish her look off. Next out came Sarah with Nicole De Boer with the Canada flag waving proud behind her as the crowd cheered over the Front Street Japan invaders in amongst them. Sarah is wearing a red sports bra with white shorts with a red maple leaf on her booty, she is also wearing red gloves. Climbing into the ring to a massive cheer, she nods to the crowd and faces towards Chisato, who glares across the ring. Asked to come to the ring centre, the referee is European as she reads out the instructions for this fight in English and Japanese for both girls to understand. But neither seems much interested in the rules as the looks on their faces for each other, speaks a hell of a lot more words then anything they can say to each other. Asked to touch gloves, the fighters touch up before jogging back to their corners, the referee seeing everything is ready, signals for the bell to be rung and off we go for 10 rounds of flyweight action.
Round 1: Off we go, Sarah has her arms loose in front of her as Chisato has hers up tight to her face, each tests the other out. That is till Chisato bullrushes Sarah with a flurry of punches and Gadon dodges a few but gets caught and shoved towards the ropes. The Japanese potion of the crowd roars their support for their girl, Sarah looks shocked by the quick assault she's under. Chisato slams two hooks around the guard of Sarah and the Canadian corner and crowd look worried as she is taking an early beating. But Sarah surprises them all by digging in and fighting her way off the ropes with some hard hooks that redden the porcelain cheeks of Chisato already. Back to the centre of the ring go the fighters and each trades around the others guard, before Sarah ducks under a haymaker from a desperate Chisato then digs away to the body. Chisato looks annoyed as she is pressed backwards herself now, again both girls exchange but it's Sarah who looks the more mobile and is landing the cleaner shots. The bell rings with Chisato looking down to the canvas as she gets a stern telling off from Hamada about her performance. Sarah looks happy about her first round in boxing as her and Nicole go over what she can do to stay on top as the crowd looks more confident now in their new fighter.
Round 2: Quickly both come out, circling as Chisato looks to take control with her jab snapping out to keep Sarah at range. Sarah bobs and weaves around Chisato, then drives forward to land two over hand shots to snap the head of her Asian opponent. Chisato stumbles backwards as Sarah follows in and lands a straight to put Morishita onto her behind. The referee has to order Sarah to a neutral corner as she looks that hyped up, that she looks ready to dive on Chisato. Finally he gets around to counting but Chisato is back up at 4 to stand up for the rest of the count to show she isn't too badly hurt. Fight is ordered and Sarah doesn't rush in as she doesn't believe she can finish the fight yet, so instead just measures her up with the jab. Nicole is shouting for Sarah to up the tempo, but she seems calm in her own tactics, landing a straight under the chin of Chisato to snap her head back. Chisato manages to clinch up with Sarah to give herself a moment to clear her head. The referee separates the two and it's not long till the bell rings after a tight exchange between the fighters. While Sarah won that round, Nicole looks upset that she didn't put the fight to bed when she had the chance, Sarah herself doesn't look too bothered as she stares at Chisato. Chisato meanwhile gets another telling off from Hamada, her coach points across at her opponent and yes her in no uncertain terms to knock her out.
Round 3: The action gets fanatic as Chisato tries to shut down Sarah with rangy jabs but again she is just too slow to really land anything of note and it allows Sarah to slip in and land an uppercut that puts Chisato down on her back. The referee counts as Morishita is blinking to show she is awake but she isn't getting up and it leads to the count of 10 coming soon enough to end the fight.
Winner: Sarah Gadon KO Round 3
After: Sarah pumps her fist to the cheering crowd, well the mostly cheering crowd as the Front Street Japan portion look mighty upset. That isn't helped as Sarah waves at the group to come and try something, nearly prompting a riot if not for security stopping the girls climbing over the railings. Hamada is certainly upset as she goes to get into the face of the blonde and shoves the referee out of the way, which could lead to fines. Sarah doesn't look intimated but some of her stablemates save her as Nicole shakes her head at her newest trainee, wondering if Amanda Tapping has made a grave error signing the hot head. Hamada and a group of FSJ flyweights help their stablemate out of the ring and swear vengeance on Team Canada for Sarah's actions. While Sarah tells journalists after the fight "that was too easy, I hope my management give me a real test for my next fight" Asked if she felt she went over board with the celebrations, she replies "oh please, Chisato brought her goon squad of friends and I put on a clinic for them, they should be begging me to take her place" Sarah gets told by Nicole that she has to get back to the locker room, there looks to be tension between the coach and fighter. But both seem to calm down and leave in silence to go to the lockers, with Sarah having a big grin on her face as she thinks of the big party the stable are having tonight.
