BEFORE:

"It's a little frustrating," says Kate with a shake of the head. "I mean, I'm a pretty big star and here I am on only my second FCBA fight. But, since I don't get many opportunities, that makes me more determined to take advantage of this one. And, that's just what I'll do."

"See, someone was going to pay a price for the Shahi fight," says a hard-eyed Leighton. "One freaking point. So, let's just say I have a lot of aggression to take out, and the next person to get it my way was going to get the brunt of that. And, Kate's number just came up."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Holding On For Life' by Broken Bells, and here comes the star of said video, the lovely Kate Mara..."

McCarthy: "File Mara under 'Typical Dancing Hooker Opponent'. NO FCBA wins!"

Cassie: "Of course, Kate's only had ONE FCBA fight..."

McCarthy: "Which she LOST. Again. Typical for the kinds of tomato cans Weirdo lines up for his overrated fighters!"

O'Dell: "Mara into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing an orange number tonight and is definitely in shape for this one. And, that's 'Somebody To Love' you hear booming through the arena, and that can only mean that 'The Marco Island Mauler', Leighton Meester, is on her way to the ring..."

Tess: "And, allow me to point out that the LAST time Meester fought here, she fought Sarah Shahi, who has TWENTY-FIVE FCBA wins, and seven of THOSE were in TITLE fights..."

Cassie: "How many wins do YOU have in title fights, Mac?"

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"

Tess: "Wait..."

McCarthy: "You STARTED it!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Drink up, boys, as Leighton climbs into the ring and is helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. Meester wearing that familiar pink and red number tonight, and the audience appreciates it. Ladies about ready to go, so let's get some picks. Tess favors Leighton. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Mara. NO FCBA wins. Meester."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. And Kate right after Leighton off the bell. Mara going all in here early, just as she did in her debut against Rachael Leigh Cook! Meester giving ground, surprised by this, and I don't blame her. Kate ran out of gas in that debut and I can't imagine than Leighton figured on her using the same tactics again..."

McCarthy: "This is what I'm talking about when I talk about how terrible Weirdo and his trainers are. Here's a girl doing EXACTLY what she did in the last fight, and Weirdo's girl is SURPRISED!"

O'Dell: "Mara just all OVER Meester right now. Leighton backing and covering and GOING DOWN! Kate Mara a short right hook and Meester takes a knee and this place is going crazy! Kate Mara with her 0-1 record has just dropped Leighton Meester, the girl who was a point from beating a former flyweight champion last month!"

Cassie: "She's not going to finish her here, though. Meester still on that knee looking up as the referee counts. Going to take her breather and get back to work."

O'Dell: "Count at six. Seven. Eight. And Meester to her feet. She'll take the mandatory and ON COMES KATE! Mara winging away as Leighton backs to the ropes and covers up. Meester rolling with punches now, taking them on her guard, picking them off, jabbing back in spots. Kate a little too aggressive as the clock ticks down, and there's the bell ending the first. Mara doesn't finish, but that's a great start!"

Tess: "No doubt about it. A 10-8 lead. Can't start a whole lot better than that."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with Mara very aggressive again. She's looking to press her advantage here, keep Leighton on the defensive. Meester willing to give a little ground as the legs begin to come back. Mara very busy, throwing a ton of leather. Seems to have done a lot of conditioning for this one after running out of gas last time..."

McCarthy: "What I like here from Kate though, is, she got sloppy at the end of last round, but she's right back to sound stuff. Busy, yes. Aggressive, yes. But, not sloppy."

O'Dell: "Meester remaining on the defensive, playing the counter-puncher as Kate demands to fight lead. Leighton slowly giving canvas. Mara flurrying, forcing the cover up, then flurrying quickly again. Meester not getting a lot of opportunities to punch, but she's taking advantage of those she does get..."

Tess: "And, she's landing some sharp, stuff, too. Not a lot of volume, but what's landing is solid shot."

O'Dell: "Mara another flurry. Good right in counter from Meester. Kate a left-right and LEIGHTON DROPS HER! Meester a right-hand counter and DOWN GOES MARA! Meester to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Mara on her back, rolling to her belly now. Six. Seven. She pushes to her knees. Nine. TEN! It's over! Kate can't get off her knees and it's over, and your winner by KO2 is 'The Marco Island Mauler', Leighton Meester!"

Cassie: "That's what a top-shelf fighter can do. Got surprised and got in trouble in the first, but she got up off the deck and got the job done."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Leighton Meester, and, Leighton, you didn't look like you were expecting what happened in the first..."

Leighton (shaking her head): "No. I mean, she put that on video in the last fight, and I was pretty sure she wouldn't try it again. My bad. I should have been ready for it."

Tess: "You made up for it in the second, though..."

Leighton (nodding): "Yeah, I decided I'd play a little defense in the second, see if I couldn't catch her. And, I caught her. Timed the counter and got her on the chin. I'm surprised she came as close to getting up as she did, because I really nailed her."

Tess: 'What's next for you?"

Leighton (smiling): "A little rest and then a big 2017, I hope!"
