(Team Canada vs Free Agent)

Intro:
The second bout on the card sees Erica Cerra looks to get back into the win column as she takes on Sara Carbonero.
Coming into this fight, Erica is a former BBU bantamweight champion but her record hasn't been massively impressive, 6 wins, 4 by knockout and 6 losses to go with 1 draw is very average to say the least.
On the other side is Sara, she won her debut fight against Laura Whitmore in April but hasn't found another fight due to her free agency status till now.

In the build up for this fight, Erica seemed pissed off as she said to interviewers "I should have headlined last weeks card in my hometown of Vancouver!"
She stated "look I love Jessica and we talk about the places we grew up in, but she didn't deserve to headline that card when I'm the head bantamweight of the stable, so sorry Sara but I'm in statement mode"
Sara took it in her stride, telling the press in her own interviews "if Erica is busy worrying about anything but me, that suits me perfectly"
She added to her statement "trust me, when she tastes my power, she will be focused on me, though it will be too late for her to do anything"

Fight night, Erica is the first fighter out, she is wearing a pink sports bra, trunks with a white Marple leaf on her behind, pink gloves and shoes finish her look.
Erica looks in a bad mood, even as she gets a welcome as good as any of her fellow countrywomen will tonight as Nicole De Boer waves the Canadian flag behind her proudly.
The pink clad warrior goes straight to her corner and warms up by shadow boxing her top turnbuckle pad.
Out comes Sara, her coach proudly waves the Spanish flag behind his fighter as the crowd have some boos amongst them but some actually cheer her, evidently taken notice of the way that Erica is acting towards them.
She is wearing a yellow sports bra, shorts and has red gloves and shoes to finish her own look up as she waves to a special presence in the crowd as her husband Iker Casillas is on the front row.
Entering the ring, she looks over to Erica and sees that her opponent has her back to her, Sara just smirks as she thinks to herself "keep thinking your going to beat me easy bytch, the look on your face will be priceless"
Asked to come to the ring centre, both girls move there and Erica surprises some by pressing against Sara as the taller Spanish woman looks slightly down to go nose to nose with Erica.
Both look ready to go at it as the referee sticks his arms between them to separate the two fighters but they keep trying to get back into each others faces as he tells both his final instructions.
He asks both girls to touch gloves and gets a swift clash of gloves, each fighter more interested in getting back to their corners then being respectful.
The referee sees both girls in their corners and signals the timekeeper to ring the bell and begin 10 rounds of bantamweight boxing.

Round 1:
Out come both girls, Erica up on her toes, Sara starting more on a flat foot as the two fighters exchange mid range jabs to start proceedings.
Erica looks to show her class by bobbing and weaving her head, before flicking out her jab to any part of free space she can get through.
Sara is fighting compact but when she gets her chance, she tries to get on the front foot with a right and left hook combo that just finds thin air.
The Canadian looks shocked that she almost took a face full of leather and gets more serious as she dances around Sara and throws more heavier right hands to try and mark up her Spanish opponent.
Sara shows some of her own class by parrying some shots, then she drives up the centre to force Erica against the ropes.
Both girls throw wild shots at each other as they try to control each other but the shots are more glancing blows as they are not aiming properly.
It ends up with both in a clinch as Erica lunges forward with a straight that just misses and the two bump body to body and stare hard at each other.
The referee gets involved to pull the girls apart, at the restart, Erica lands the first good shot with a right overhand punch to knock Sara's head sideways.
The round ends with Erica on top with cleaner shots tearing through the guard of her opponent to the delight of the crowd.
Both fighters glare at each other hard as they try to psyche out the other, Erica goes back to her corner with a small smile on her face for Nicole.
Sara meanwhile argues with her coach as her blood is starting to boil at the bad end to the round she had, it's not helped as Erica blows her a kiss from her corner.

Round 2:
Quickly the two fighters come towards the ring centre but it's Sara who quickly takes the centre ground with her jab forcing Erica to try working on the outside.
But she doesn't take it serious enough and her left hand drops too low, letting Sara connect with a hard right hook to her chin and down goes Erica!
The crowd look shocked as she sits on her behind, wondering what the hell just happened as the referee is counting above her.
Making it to her feet at 8, Erica looks annoyed that she let herself get caught so easily by Sara.
The fight continues as Erica covers up to protect herself as Sara charges after her, the Spanish girl uses her shoulder to barge Cerra back towards the ropes.
But Erica surprises her in return with some hard thrown body shots to force Sara to take a step back, the Canadian fighter steps off the ropes but doesn't go after her opponent.
Instead she takes a moment to register a strategy, Erica decides that she has to stick to the body of her opponent to cut her down to size.
Sara though continues to control the round with her longer reach as she pounds the guard of Erica and keeps her on the back foot.
The bell rings and now it's Erica that goes stomping back to her corner, upset at herself, as Nicole has to try to get her refocused on the task in front of her.
Sara meanwhile is still looking somewhat upset herself, she hoped to finish the fight early but instead she had to accept just controlling the rest of the round.

Round 3:
Again Sara quickly takes the ring centre and keeps Erica fighting on the outside with her rifle like jab stinging the face of her opponent.
Erica does manage to find her way under that sharp jab and goes to town on the body of Sara with three quick thrown shots.
Sara has to shove Erica away and quickly lands a straight to gain control of the round once more.
Both fighters are measuring each other up again as Erica dances around Sara, that jab keeps eating away at her guard to try to crack it open.
Erica is finding it hard to fight her way forward and she begins to feel her lips swelling up from the repeated shots.
Sara manages to land another hard hook to the body to force a loud grunt from Erica as the crowd is still trying to give her their support.
Finally though Erica snaps a hard uppercut through the guard of Sara, as the Spanish fighter misses her own shots on her way forward.
Erica just goes on the attack with a barrage of body punches late on in the fight, before Sara pulls her in tight for a clinch.
The bell rings not long after both are separated, Sara taps her abs to try and prove that she isn't hurt but pundits question how wise it is to point out any weaknesses.
Erica shakes her head as she feels another round has slipped by, Nicole is still trying to keep her girls spirits up as she tries to reduce the swelling in her fighters mouth.

Round 4:
The fight picks up in tempo as Sara drives forward with hard rights knocking Erica back several steps as the crowd hush down again.
The smaller fighter slips under a wild thrown hook to continue ripping away to the body of Sara, who again shoves her back to create space.
The two fighters changing control of the fight after different flurries of punches from both.
Neither girl seems able to keep the other in the range they want and the crowd seem to perk up as Erica makes a fight of it this round after 2 terrible rounds.
Again though, Sara does land a good body shot to the left side of Erica to hurt her, then a straight punch busts her bottom lip as blood drips onto her chin.
Erica clinches up but keeps her right hand free to fig away to the body of Sara, who grabs her opponent around her waist and pulls her forward to trip her to her knees.
Both fighters call each other "bytch, c***" as they blame each other for the trip and the referee steps between the two women to give them each a warning to keep it clean.
As the fight resumes with not much more to go this round, Sara pierces the guard of Erica again with her punches to slam into that bloody lip to make it worse.
The bell rings and Erica looks to go after Sara, but the referee stops her and both fighters can only stare each other down in their corners.

Round 5:
Sara again drives forwards from the ring centre to force Erica to cover up early in the round, pounding her guard back towards her face as the crowd look sullen.
Erica is trying to land potty shots to the body of Sara but keeps eating shots to her face when she opens up.
The referee is watching closely as Sara is just dominating at this moment in the fight and it takes a clinch from Erica, after eating two straights to her face that earns her a reprieve.
Separated, Erica gets into space and Sara tries to enforce her power on her again, with space though, Erica can thrive as she bobs out of the way of punches coming at her and keeps working that body.
Sara looks to be wincing with each body shot as her body is reddening up from the assaults it's taken up to now.
Carbonero manages to land an uppercut to push Cerra back her several steps, the crowd are scared that she is hurt as her eyes shut.
Pressed towards the ropes again, Sara throws a barrage of punches to keep Erica on the ropes as the crowd roar her to fight back.
Erica manages to slip under a wild haymaker from Sara to dig two shots just under Carbonero's jugs to force air from her lungs.
Erica now smashes Sara back to the other side of the ring with some cracking shots over the low guard of her opponent.
The bell rings to stop the onslaught that Sara is under and the crowd roar as Erica pounds her own chest and tells Sara "you're mine bytch!"
Sara catches her breath as she simply replies "we'll see w****" as they return to their corners, both hurt but amped up in this wild atmosphere.

Round 6:
Sara is now on defence as Erica charges after her, the pink attires fighter snaps her opponents head back with her own hard jabs.
The crowd are fully behind Erica as she forces Sara to fight hard, the girls trading when Carbonero is pressed towards a set of ropes.
The bigger girl fights her way off them but is pressed back towards them as Erica is focused on trying to end this fight.
Sara though clinches up with Erica and uses her strength to turn them around to press Cerra onto the ropes instead.
As the girls are pulled apart, Sara now starts throwing in desperation to keep Erica stuck to the ropes, she hasn't got the power behind her punches as she did before and it leads to both girls slugging it out till the fall into a clinch in the ring centre.
The referee pulls both girls apart and both are tired and hurt, the exchanges slow down for the rest of the round.
But Erica is the one who is forcing the action more with her aggressive movement and strikes till the bell ends the round.
Neither girl bothers to look at each other, they just want to sit down and get their puffy cheeks worked on, in Erica's case, her mouth is bleeding again, while Sara is catching her breath once again.

Round 7:
Off the girls go again, trading shots in tight as the pace slows down but the viciousness of their punches increases as they try to stop each other.
Sara eats a hard right under her left jug and has to take a knee to the delight of the crowd, Erica stares down at her as the referee has to push her back to be able to start her count.
Gulping in air, Sara spits her gumshield out to get her air back as quickly as she can once again as the referee is counting her out.
Standing up at 8, Sara is ordered to get a new gumshield in but warned off the referee to keep it in or he will punish her.
The fight begins again and Erica is quick to try and end the fight, working her way forward with wild punches flying towards Sara.
The retreating girl has to clinch up to get extra respite and the crowd want blood it seems, cheering for Erica to finish her off.
But Sara does a good job of slowing the tempo down, clinching up with Erica if the Canadian gets too close to her and uses her long jab to keep her back.
Erica does manage to crack her with an overhand left before Sara again clinches up to stop her charge once more.
"Let go bytch!" Screams Erica as the fighters push and shove in the clinch, the referee gets between the two and shoves them apart.
Sara surprises Erica with a right hook as the pink clad fighter is getting desperate and now it's Erica whose rocked late in the round.
Sara hasn't the energy to go all out, so just shoves Erica towards the ropes and uses her left to pin her opponent to the ropes and uses her right to hammer some hard shots to the body.
The bell rings and Sara looks to the heavens as she can't lose this fight in her mind or how will she be able to demand more fights.
Erica shakes her head as Nicole rushes out to check on her and gets ignored as Cerra goes past her to sit on her stool and stew.

Round 8:
Erica again manages to slip inside the reach of Sara early to land a scything right hook to the body but Carbonero manages to crack her over the top with a good right of her own.
Both girls wobble slightly but it's Sara who manages to follow up with a good body shot of her own to force Erica back.
The Canadian is winded as Sara in desperation throws everything and the kitchen sink at Cerra to finish the job now.
An uppercut puts Erica down to her back as the crowd slump into their seats in despair, Sara as quick as she could in her own state, got to a neutral corner.
The referee counts and Erica manages to shove her way to her side, she sees the crowd start to perk up and wave her to get up.
Surprisingly it seems to have some effect as Erica manages to just beat the count at 9, but her legs seems to be still two lumps of jelly and she falls into the ropes, forcing the referee to wave the fight off.

Winner: Sara Carbonero TKO Round 8

After:
Erica looks as stunned as the crowd, she is telling the referee he's made a grave error stopping the fight but she can't even find the energy to get off the ropes to tell him that face to face.
Sara doesn't celebrate as she doesn't want to cause any problems for herself in this part of the world when it comes to getting fights.
Instead she heads back to her corner to get cleaned up and her gloves off, while Erica is looking like she's going to get help off Nicole but Erica tries to tell her she's OK.
As Erica tries to get back to her corner under her own steam, she almost falls and Nicole hangs on to her, which gets some abuse off of her fighter and friend, till Erica says sorry and sheds a few tears.
This was supposed to be her homecoming, that wasn't exactly true, then she was supposed to go out and win this fight and she failed, it couldn't have been much worse for her.

After both fighters get cleaned up and giving a moment to recover, they are asked to come to the ring centre for the final announcement and as Sara's name is called out and her hand raised, Erica does give her a polite clap to show sportsmanship.
Sara quickly stops Erica before she gets back to her corner and tells her "thank you for the fight, you were honestly unlucky and well, I look forward to seeing you again someday if you want"
Erica simply nods as she isn't in the mood to talk but hasn't the will at the moment to show how badly upset she is.
Sara doesn't push her for anything else as she just turns around and hugs her coach before they leave the ring to a respectful round of applause.
Erica wants to sneak off but some people in the crowd start an "Erica" chant and as she looks out to the sea of standing Canadians clapping her, she seems to realise that it doesn't matter what part of Canada she is in, she's home.
It actually gives her a small smile as her and Nicole leave the ring together and try to work out where to go now with her career.
Sara tells the press after the event "Erica is simply a class opponent and hopefully this win gets me noticed by these new fighters and some of the old school girls hmm"
Neither girl will be best friends but a certain level of respect was formed tonight after that hard fought fight between the two women.
