(Girls Friday vs Foxfire Boxing)
Intro: The next fight on the card sees Kaya Scodelario meet her toughest challenge yet against Laura Vandervoort.
Kaya comes into this fight with a record of 8-3 in her overall career, she has 8 knockouts to go along with that record. Laura meanwhile has a record of 34-32-2 in her overall career, she has 25 knockouts to her name in her long and successful career.
Coming into this fight, Kaya is 8 years younger at 24 and an inch smaller, the fighters meet face to face and all the trouble that Kaya has had with the Foxfire stables Willa Holland seems to be rubbing off on the other girls in that stable. Both girls snarl at each other as they go nose to nose and stare hard at each other, Laura whose normally calm, shoves Kaya back and the two shove each other till security gets between the fighters.
They are led to separate tables and it just happens that Willa Holland is standing at the back of the room and Kaya nearly rushes to get off the stage to get at her biggest rival in the world. Being held by her management team, they calm her down as tell her she has to speak soon as Laura stands to give her speech.
"Honestly, all of us at Foxfire were shocked when I got the challenge, I mean I'm the leader of our bantamweight corps and after all the crap you've caused Kaya, I'd head back to the BBU for safety!" Says Laura as the girls glare across at each other.
Laura finishes by saying "the beating I plan on giving you is for each one of my stablemates and Willa better be appreciative of this" as she looks out to Willa sternly, evidently not happy to see herself get stuck between those two.
Kaya scowls but gets her chance to reply "Laura, I respect your career, I really do and when I made the challenge, it was supposed to be just me and you"
Staring back at the cocky looking Willa, Kaya adds "I should have known that a rat would get involved but I'll have back up, so you better have your eyes on me because if you try to make this more than it is, then you'll have a major problem alright!"
The girls are led off stage with security surrounding them to stop any incidents as they stop Willa and Marvin Fox must be getting more worried about civil war between his girls if this keeps up.
Fight night, out comes Kaya first and while she has Pretty Little Puncher Ashley Benson and her coach Lauren Berlingeri by her side.
Kaya is wearing a blue one piece swimsuit, has matching gloves and shoes, though she has white socks sticking out the top of her shoes. The crowd cheer her as she looks in the mood to get started judging by how fast she walks down to the ring, before getting into the ring going to her corner to warm up.
Out comes Laura now, by her side as expected is Willa Holland and her coach Virgina Madsen, all three glare into the ring as if about to charge into a trench.
Laura is wearing a lime green one piece swimsuit, with matching gloves and shoes but has red socks on to give her have a small nod to Christmas with her elf looking footwear.
Quickly she enters the ring, the girls stare across at each other and Willa opens her mouth to say something but Ashley starts to walk towards her old friend and security is quick to stand between the two groups.
The referee goes to both corners to order outside help out the ring and if he catches any of them fighting outside, he will order them thrown out of the ringside area. Everyone seems to agree as it comes down to the two fighters and finally we can get down to business as the girls are told to come to the ring centre. The girls are told to keep this fight clean before he finishes his instructions, told to touch gloves, the girls look at each other with mixed feelings. After a tense moment of silence, there is a thud of leather as the fighters touch gloves and nod at each other, then they return to their corners, so the referee can begin 10 rounds of bantamweight boxing action.
Round 1: "Ding" out come the fighters, both light on their toes, starting with a simple jab to test each other out, as their jabs meet the others gloves early on. Kaya picks up the pace soon enough with a three punch combo thrown up top, Laura does a good job of parrying the first two punches, the last; a straight through the guard of the blonde knocks her head back. Laura tries to throw back her own counter shots but Kaya shows her flexibility, ducking the returning shots, then digging in two shots to the abs of the Canadian. The blonde grunts but keeps coming forward behind a well worked jab, as she's looking to hunt down her younger opponent. Kaya takes a few shots to her nose and forehead, but she lands a good overhand right to shake up Laura, who shakes her head and moves away with a hasty thrown jab and straight that misses but was mostly to cover her retreat. The crowd look surprised as Kaya seems to be fighting with a certain calmness, which is mostly as pundits claim down to Laura now pushing her yet. The round hasn't got long to go, Laura now presses hard and the girls seem to have the same idea, slugging it out in tight. Now Laura looks in her happy place, working her fists to the body of Kaya to force grunts to escape the lips of the brunette. But Kaya isn't holding back her own punches, thudding her punches up and down Laura, at the bell, Kaya lands a good right cross to turn Laura's head to the delight of her corner. Neither girl looks at each other, just heading back to their corners to get cleaned up, as Willa and Ashley are whispering what to do to the other girl in the next round as their coaches look annoyed already by the outside influences.
Round 2: Out they come for this round with a rough idea of what to do now, Kaya tries to do what she did in the last round. But Laura is using her experience now to land pinpoint punches to the head and body of Kaya, while using parrying the brunette's punches. Kaya is struggling this round with those punches disrupting her own attempts, Laura is fully focused now and it's letting her time her punches to great effect. The English fighter does force her way forward with a nice faint jab to land a hard right body shot to get herself a chance this round. Both girls are in tight, head to head, sending shots around guards to force groans and grunts from the lips of their opponent. Before Laura shows her raw power to shove Kaya back a step, adding a straight to the nose of her opponent, then attacks the body to try and wear her down. Kaya shows enough wears to use her footwork to get out of dodge and lands a good double jab to force Laura back a bit. Not long left in the round as both throw some hard combos toward each other to try and make a lasting impression on the other as well as the judges. They go head to head, as they slug it out with ten seconds to go and the bell finally rings with both shoving each other away, then glare at each other. The referee has to order both back to their corners one more time to finally get them to do as asked. Neither takes their eyes off the other as they sit on their stools and their coaches order their friends to stay at ringside and be quiet, as Willa and Ashley try to give advice again. Willa and Ashley stand at ringside in a huff till their eyes meet and they glare hard at each other, security watching both girls closely.
Round 3: Both girls fly out their corners, Laura landing the better punches again as she times the brunettes punches to land her own. But Kaya isn't staying back, instead shoving through the punches to pressure Laura back towards the ropes with short sharp body shots to the flanks of the blonde. Laura groans as she gets pounded to her body, again though she shoves Kaya back and lands two hard hooks to her head. Now Kaya is rocked back and Laura pushes forward to knock her opponent back to the ropes, the fight on the ropes gets the crowd standing and cheering. Each girl lands some vicious shots to the other, Laura trying to keep Kaya pinned to the ropes, Scodelario trying to fight her way off them and to shove Vandervoort back. In the end she manages to clinch up and the girls grapple on the ropes, tempers flaring up as they try to prove they are the superior fighter in all aspects. The referee pulls the girls apart and Kaya rushes away from the ropes to get a good starting space to work from. Late in the round, Kaya manages to land a hard uppercut to Laura's chin to get her attention, as she shoves Laura back with several shots to the body. Laura fights back with her own shots till the bell, where both hold back but turn their heads as they return to their corners to scowl at each other. Looking at the girls, both are showing signs of battle, their cheeks are starting to redden up and their bodies have red marks where they've been continuously hit.
Round 4: Both girls circle around the center of the ring, trading shots to the others heads in the early going, that is till Laura makes her move. Pressing forward behind a slick jab, Kaya looks in retreat as she heads back towards the ropes, but as Laura lunges with a right hook, it finds nothing but air. Instead Kaya ducks and moves to the left, then shoves Laura to the ropes to unleash on her opponent, throwing around the guard to the body of the blonde with quick thrown shots. Laura is slinging out shots to try and fight her way off, but Kaya is moving her head out the way of the shots and returning fire back. The blonde manages to finally shove her way through the barrage and clinch up with her brunette rival, blood is coming from a small cut on the right cheek of Laura. The referee separates the two and Laura starts fighting back, throwing some looping shots to force Kaya back. But again Kaya ducks under a haymaker like left and lands squarely to the body Laura with a straight to cause her to gasp. Laura slumps slightly as Kaya heads on the attack, her shots though are hitting the guard of her opponent as Vandervoort covers up. Late in this round, Laura manages to land a good jab, followed by a left hook to knock Kaya's head sideways to show she's far from out of this fight. She presses Kaya and the two stand to trade with barely anytime left in the round, the bell rings with both just about not striking each other after it. Kaya sees the cut properly for the first time on Laura's cheek and smirks as Laura says "I wouldn't smile too soon, not after I'm done with you" That forces a nose to nose stare down that the referee has to quickly get between before they start fighting again. Both stroll back to their corners and their coaches attempt to settle them down, as outside the ring their friends shout "f*** her up!" "Smash her face in!" Etc, which gets glares from the coaches to the outside presence, the crowds are wondering if there is going to be fights outside the ring at the bell.
Round 5: Back at it they go as Laura seems to find her feet again, both girls trading in tight, fighting around the center of the ring. Laura though boxes smart, protecting her cut cheek as she keeps Kaya back with her jab with some good movement. Kaya does catch her with a good right hand to the body, but the blonde hammers back with a double jab to push the brunette back. The girls circle and Laura presses Kaya back now under a barrage of punches, back and forth go the girls as they near the ropes. Kaya is being caught though as her body is getting hit with some real power shots, till she can clinch up and the girls try to shove each other with their bodies. As they are separated, Kaya comes flying forwards and catches Laura now, a left and right hook to the head, knock Laura back a few steps and now Laura has to clinch up. Separated again, both girls trade single shots to the others faces, till Laura again ducks low and swings two good shots to the sides of Kaya to cause her to let out an anguished cry of pain. Laura pressing Kaya back onto her heels with a flurry of punches, with Kaya covering up and using her footwork to move out the range of the punches heading for her head. The crowd jump up as the round is coming to an end and Laura's head is snapped back with an uppercut, her eyes shut as she stumbles back several steps and Kaya chases after her to finish the fight. Laura covers up now as Kaya throws a barrage of punches at her but the bell rings to end the round and Scodelario almost screams in frustration. Instead she just stands and glares into Laura's eyes, Laura herself is shaking her head to try and clear it, before she slowly returns to her corner. Kaya meanwhile sits on her stool, rubbing her ribs as Lauren tries to help her sore body with an ice pack and tells her "don't lose your focus, you've got her hurt, just focus and you'll get your chance to end it"
Round 6: It's clear as the fighters come out, that Laura is still hurting as Kaya dances around her to jab away at her till she sees that Laura isn't coming forward. A right hand to the ribs of Laura starts the assault from Kaya, she pounds Vandervoort back to the ropes and the referee watches closely to see if she can fight back. Laura shows her toughness by throwing some straight punches towards Kaya's heads. It gives her enough time to clinch up and pull Kaya onto her, but Kaya has her right arm free and she digs her right into the ribs of Laura to make her groan. The referee pulls the girls apart and Laura manages to land a double jab to annoy Kaya more then anything else as the English girl keeps coming forward. Laura is moving around the ring, trying to keep away from trouble as Kaya chases her around the ring. Kaya manages to connect to the head of Laura with a hard right hook and the blondes knees are wobbly as she gets shoved to the ropes Laura gets beaten to the body as she covers up as best she can and again she has to clinch as time ticks away in the round. The referee pulls the girls apart and Laura moves off the ropes to waste time and try to recover as Kaya bares down on her. Kaya manages to trap Laura against a corner but the bell rings to save Laura again as she leans against the turnbuckles in the corner. Both girls look up and down each other and Kaya looks like she wants to help Laura but steels herself as she returns to her corner. Laura stumbles back to hers as Virgina looks worried for her girl, even Willa is forgetting her hatred for the group on the other side of the ring as she worries for her stablemate.
Round 7: Laura makes it out of her corner and Kaya nods her respect over to her, before the girls come together to fight. Vandervoort is hurting, so she throws everything and the kitchen sink at Kaya, pressing her back with a barrage of punches. Kaya dodges most of the punches and as she spots an opening, the girls start trading power shots that rock both girls heads. Laura gets hit with an uppercut and stumbles against the ropes, she's blinking as Kaya comes forward with her own eyes focusing purely on the blondes head. A right and left hook shut Laura's eyes as she slides down the ropes knocked out and the referee waves the fight off.
Winner: Kaya Scodelario KO Round 7
After: Kaya is straight down to Laura's side as the doctor rushes in as well to help her, smelling salts are put under Laura's nose till she wakes up.
Willa is standing stunned outside the ring as inside the ring, Ashley and Lauren chat to Virgina about the fight and if Laura will be OK, maybe the brunette is feeling guilty for telling Laura to hurt Kaya, when it looks like she's been hurt.
Inside the ring, Laura nods at the doctor and it appears that she is going to be OK with a nights rest and some painkillers. Kaya nods towards Laura as neither are going to be bosom pals, but Kaya wants make sure she's OK and show respect to her for a hard fight.
Willa climbs into the ring and pushes Kaya out of the way so she can check on Laura herself, causing Kaya to fall to her side. Lauren helps Kaya up away from her biggest enemy as Virgina doesn't know whether to step in and apologize or defend her own girl if Kaya makes any moves.
But it's Ashley who makes the move, pulling Willa back by her hair to her back on the canvas and yells "you stupid bytch!"
Willa looks stunned by the attack and as Benson takes the topposition, the blonde slaps her former friend with her right hand, her left keeps Willa's head down by her hair. Virgina pulls Ashley somewhat off her fighter and takes a slap from Ashley as the rest of the girls in the ring look stunned that she'd do that.
As Virgina let's go of Ashley to hold her cheek, Willa tackles Ashley, as the best friends rip away at each others hair and dresses as the crowd cheer the girls on. Lauren helps get Laura out of the way of the catfighting pair, while Kaya grabs Ashley and Virgina grabs onto Willa to separate the two girls.
As they are separated, dresses are torn in different parts to show off some flesh, hair is a mess and they have red handprints on cheeks from the slaps.
"You're dead bytch!" Yells Willa as she fights to get out of her coaches hands and Ashley is trying to get free from her friend to get at her.
Security is ordered into the ring to take the fighting pair out of the ring and away to the lockers.
Virgina doesn't know what to say, she looks over to Lauren and Laura, before quickly helping over to help her fighter stand up.
Lauren tells her fellow coach "if you need help.." But Virgina interrupts "No thanks!" With an annoyed voice as she gets Laura to her feet.
Virgina shakes her head and turns to Lauren to say "look I'm sorry, this isn't your fault, but I have a lot to think about when I get back to the gym, this crap has to stop one way or another" Lauren nods as she let's Virgina and Laura leave the ring to a round of applause for Vandervoort.
Kaya goes over to Lauren and says "wow! What the hell is going to happen there?" As Berlingeri just shrugs her shoulders, she's not exactly pleased with Kaya being friends with Ashley with all the drama it brings, then getting involved in this mess. Kaya leaves the ring with a little help from Lauren, but she looks overjoyed to have ended the year with such a big win in her young career.
