TESS VALMORE

THIRLWALL/KANE Kane’s troubles continue. This bout should give her a clue that her future in the FCBA is somewhat limited and she should consider some other activity, like sewing. She did have a good fourth round, which was followed by a fifth round in which she absorbed a couple Thirwell rights, but not well,  and she went down for the count

MEIS/A. ADAMS. Meis is 38 and she was the younger of the two. The only reason I can see for this bout was to give fans time to get to their seats before the good fights started. Adams managed to take two of the first three rounds. Meis dominated the fourth and finished Adams off in the fifth, with a couple hooks to the head

SOLO/E. HENSTRIDGE Third fight of the night and the third to last just five rounds. Henstridge took control of the bout in the third round. In the fifth, Henstridge caught Solo with a hard right to the midsection and down Solo went for the count. There should be message for Solo her. She should just shut up during a bout

McCURDY/ORRANTIA What going on here. The fourth fight of the night and the fourth to end before the end of the fifth. I heard this fight was hotly anticipated. The question was by who? McCurdy had a slight lead at the end of the fourth. In the fifth, Orrantia hurt McCurdy with a head shot and then sent her down the canvas for the long count with a right cross the the bra. I must say It was the first I have seen a fighter put on her face with punch to the chest. On her knees yes, on her face no.. Don’t need to tell me about it. In my previous martial arts fighting career I have been hit there more than once

OSMENT/D. CAMPBELL The bout was even at the end of two. Osment decked Campbell in the third and took the fourth to take a wide lead. Campbell came back in the fifth, .and put Osment on her knees. As the sixth began, Osment had not fully recovered and Campbell got her on the ropes and simply pounded her helpless and the referee stopped the fight

L. COLLINS/C. COLE Cole took the first two rounds with Collins evening up the bout by the end of the fourth. The fourth round was a particularly good round for Collins. In the fifth. Collins decked Cole with a right to the chin. Cole barely made it to her feet and finished the round. Cole did not finish the sixth,  as Collins simply destroyed her, finishing her with a right to the solar plexus. A good win for Collins

COLEMAN/ R.L.COOK Cook had a seven fight win streak against mediocre fighters going into this bout. Kiss that streak goodby. Actually, Cook had a good lead in the bout at the end of six. Coleman started a comeback in the seventh taking the round. In the eighth, Coleman worked Cook over with a vengeance. It was an accumulation of blows that send Cook down for the count and Coleman walked away with a KO8

PORTER/HALE Hale had lost to Porter in a BBU bout back in 2011. That was then, this was now and Porter is wishing for the good old days. The bout was even at the end of four. Hale hurt Porter in the fifth and again in the sixth. In the seventh, Hale decked Porter with a right hook. Porter was unable to beat the count. Hale gets revenge with a KO

HUDGENS/STEWART I imagine a lot of readers know my criticisms of Stewart. This was a rare appearance for Stewart, who rarely plays with the big girls. She gave a good account of herself, although she lost. It was a fine, active fight with Stewart flooring Hudgens in the third and having the fight fairly even going into the final round. In the tenth, Hudgens started the round looking shot. Stewart went for the kill and found out that Hudgens was anything but shot. Hudgens worked Stewart over finally getting her into the ropes and started cleaning up having the crowd calling for the referee to stop the bout,  which he did giving Hudgens a TKO win. Will Stewart stay playing with the big girls or go back to the kindergarten?

TERRELL/N. BELLA JMD Bella

LOVATO/K. JENNER JMD Lovato

BYRNE/FREGE Has anyone bothered to tell Frege she has no future in the FCBA. Bryne had never won a fight. She has now. She flattened Frege in the fifth. That was not unexpected. It wasn’t a case of if, but only when

CHURCH/A. LYNCH This was a somewhat surprising result as the veteran Church managed to beat an up and coming youngster. Lynch cruised through the first three rounds. Church started a comeback in the fourth and continued through the middle of the sixth, when Church landed a series of left hooks to Lynch’s head and Lynch went down for the count

KOSARIN/PIETERSE I have no idea who Kosarin is or why this was a well deserved debut. Anyway, the fight turned out to be pretty good. Kosarin decked Pieterse in the third and had the lead going into the sixth. In the Sixth, Kosarin decked Pieterse again. Pieterse managed to get to her feet only to have Kosarin turned her into shambles and the fight was stopped giving Kosarin a debut TKO

DRAYTON/LOTZ Drayton is another newbie in the FCBA who I have no idea who she is. She was undefeated in a brief career in the BBU and ACB.  This bout was all Lotz through the first four rounds. Drayton turned the bout around in the fifth with a couple body shots and worked Lots over. Early in the sixth, Drayton landed a right to the stomach and a pair of hooks to the head and Lotz was toast and she was counted out. This was Lotz’s fourth loss in her last five fights. She needs to go back to the drawing boards

CHOPRA/ALBA Why is Alba still trying to fight. This was her eighth straight loss and she has the distinction of losing to Frege. Needless to say it was not surprising to see Chopra KO her. The only surprise was that Alba lasted into the sixth.

BUSH/SILK Bush was basking in light of positive comments in the Boxing Worlds yearly awards ended the year on a positive night. It wasn’t easy though. Silk has a good lead at the end of four. Bush came back to dominate the fifth.  Bush ended the bout in the sixth with a roundhouse right to the temple that put Silk down for the count

VANCAMP/B. THORNE Thorne is a leader in the Daily Mail No Talent Index however, has had great success in the FCBA. That is until she ran into VanCamp. VanCamp won the first three rounds with Thorne closing the lead by winning the next two. In the sixth, the slugging went VanCamp’s way and she got Thorne against the ropes and worked her over until Thorne went down for the count

BELLISARIO/PANABAKER This looked like a stay busy fight for Bellisario. Surprisingly, although the rounds were competitive, Panabaker has a slight lead at the end of five. Bellsario came on in the sixth having her way with Panabaker,  with Panabaker barely managing to finish the round. Panabaker didn’t finish the seventh,  as Bellisario blitz ended the fight knocking Panabaker out

SCODELARIO/VANDERVOORT The Veteran Vandervoort is having a hard time lately losing six of her last eight. Scodelario just made it worse. It was a good fight, but I thought that Scodelario had by far the best of it going into the seventh. Vandervoort managed to get out of her corner for the seventh, but not for long as a Scodelario left hook put her out

HOLT/DOBREV A prime time fight. The bout was even at two, even at four and even at six..It ended in the seventh. Dobrev landed a left jab and a right hook and put Holt on her back for the count. A big win for Dobrev

HUMES/D. JOHNSON I wish FCBA members would stop changing their names. Johnson has won only one of eight. Humes had not won a fight losing all three, Well, Humes still hasn’t won a fight. I thought the fight was pretty much all Johnson, who ended the bout in the sixth by KOing Humes

SANCHEZ/RICHARDS Sanchez was looking for her first win somehow managed to talk Richards in coming back into the ring. Richards at one time was a top contender ,but that was years ago.. The first two rounds didn’t go well for Sanchez, but by the fourth, she had Richards ready to go and she finished her off in the fifth. I thought the Sanchez win was rather unimpressive as her opponent was old enough to be my mother. Yeah, my opinion assumed by others was interrupted correctly “cannon fodder”

DAWSON/KENDALL JENNER We got too may K. Jennets in the association. The Jenners are lead members of the Daily Mail No Talent Index, however, she is a capable fighter as is the little used Dawson. This was a tough fight, but I thought Jenner was getting the much of the best of it through five. In the sixth, a Jenner uppercut sent Dawson into dreamland

AMBROSIO/VALANCE Ambrosio is one of the better newbies. Valance has lost four straight and is seldom seen anymore. This was a good fight for Ambrosio to improve her record and improve it she did. After the first round it was all Ambrosio, who won the fight in the fourth by knocking Valance cold with a right hand

BURNS/J. CARPENTER Burns is due to be one of those fighters you schedule when you need a stay busy fight. Carpenter was a 50/50 fighter with a better record than Burns. It was all predictable. Burns lasted three plus rounds as a Carpenter body attack sent Burns down to a fourth round KO defeat

AZALEA/G. HADID We are seeing many of the Daily Mail No Talent index fighters on the card tonight as Hadid is high on the index., Azalea, whoI thought had been unimpressive, had the better record. Azalea decked Hadid in the second and had a big lead at the end of four. By the end of the sixth, Hadid had cut the lead down to one point. Azalea then won the seventh to again have a good lead. That lead evaporated in the eighth, as a Hadid three punch combination ended Azalea’s hopes of winning

WINSTEAD/PEREGRYM The Santa-Kini bout between two top lightweights and it was a good one.  After three close rounds, Missy took the lead by flooring Winstead in the fourth. It was a hurt Winstead who came out for the fifth, however she managed to escape the round without any further damage and recover. Winstead took the seventh. In the eighth Winstead went over to he offensive and simply took Peregrym apart ending the fight with a four uppercut spree that put Missy down and out. That was the bad news for Peregrym. The worse is she has to now fight Sobieski at the Asylum in a couple hours

RHODA/M. MOORE Rhoda is an up and coming welter, one of a number of new welters looking to revitalize the division. Moore is a veteran and although only 31 is looking more and more like shot fighter, but still dangerous. This was a good active bout. By the fifth, Rhoda had managed to get control and had the better of the fight the rest of the way which ended in the eighth, when a Rhoda right hook sent Moore down to her fifth straight defeat

RIGHETTI/KLOSS Kloss was going to be my welter rookie of the year, but she was way over her head in taking on Righetti. This was a fight you had to see to be believed. It was Righetti most of the way. By the end of the fourth, you knew it was only a matter of time before Amanda ended Kloss’s winning streak. Early in the seventh Righetti decked Kloss and I knew it was the end was near. Kloss beat the count. Righetti went into finish, but Kloss landed a left uppercut and suddenly Righetti was undone. Somehow, Kloss managed get enough strength to pound Righetti back into the ropes and helpless and the fight was stopped with Kloss getting the TKO. I had to ask Smackey If I really saw what I just thought I saw. Undoubtedly the upset of the year

NIGRI/LOHAN JMD CHAMPIONSHIOP Nigri

MITCHELL/GREENE For the bantam title. Mtichell managed to have the lead at the end of five, taking three of the rounds including decking Greene in the fourth. Greene evened up the bout by flooring Mitchell in the sixth. Greene won the seventh only to have Mitchell deck her in the eighth and take the ninth. Greene needed a KO to win in the tenth. She had a good round, but didn’t get the KO and Mitchell retained her title by a decision

ARTERTON/BIEL For the lightweight title. This was a fine fight as expected. Close rounds with Biel having a one point lead at the end of five. Biel extended her lead by decking Arterton in the sixth. Arterton managed to win the seventh and then even the bout in the eighth by sending Biel down to the canvas. Beil, somehow managed to take the ninth to have a one point lead going into the final round In the tenth, Arterton hurt Biel with an uppercut and followed up with barrage of punches that sent Biel down for the count. Arterton retains the title and I am gong to have to eat crow at Front Street since I predicted a Biel win

UPTON/ M.RYAN For the welter title Through the first five rounds it was all Ryan. In the sixth, Upton managed to stop the bleeding and had Ryan glassy eyed at the end of the round. In the seventh, Upton came out and gave Ryan a savage beating that ended with Ryan being counted out. Upton retain the title

KENDRICK/SCERBO For the flyweight title. I hope y’all will forgive me for not going into this bout. Y’all know that Cassie is my BFF and this fight was painful to watch and I would rather not relive it. Needless to say I knew that sooner or later Cassie reign would come to an end and I just hoped it would be later. It was not to be and Kendrick won a hard fought fight and is now the new champion. Congratulations to her and her post fight comments are correct. Cassie will be back and soon
