Before: Kyra not looking very confident in her dark blue micro-bikini, rubbing her hands nervously before donning her gloves. Understandably having lost recently in the SI Rookie tournament to an unknown not doing much to lift Santoro’s spirits. Of course, facing Melanie Iglesias all part of the plan, according to the brunette - Kyra’s claws coming out as she declares, “Melanie’s a stepping stone. Nothing more, nothing less. Winning today’s gonna get my head back in the game.”

Melanie obviously not liking that comparison. “Kyra’s been everyone’s stepping stone,” she snorts. “That’s because she’s too nice, letting everyone walk all over her. She’s gonna find out that i’m no little miss sunshine.”

Round 1: Immediately, hard punches start flying from one girl to the other, and they’re from none other than Ms Iglesias, who must seriously ticked off at being compared to a doormat. The buxomed beauty showing Kyra what she thinks of her comments with hard shots towards her head. Santoro covering up, immediately thrown into a hasty retreat, gets her body pounded on with follow-up punches as a greedy Melanie starts looking for more juicy targets south of the border. Kyra though not some inexperienced rookie, detecting a pattern to Melanie’s wild swings, manages to deflect one such awkward hook, then STUNS the American model with a counter-blow to her own cheek, following up with a left-right combo to both of Melanie’s jugs, drawing squeals of shock at her opponent’s odacity. Kyra smiling, but knows she hasn’t done enough (aside from pissing her foe off even more) to win the round at the sound of the bell.

Round 2: Things get personal hard and fast - Melanie resuming her reckless charge and swings, battering Kyra’s defences and landing some hard shots on the sides of her ears, but soon getting countered with precision punches from Santoro, who stuns her with return hooks to the chest and body. Soon, Melanie losing her steam, getting beaten back by Kyra slowly with those heavy hands to her body, bunching her up and taking their toll. Iglesias fighting back tears as she covers up her chest and belly, but Kyra getting greedy for more, punching recklessly below the belt, now leaving her face open to stiff snap-jabs from the Hometown Hottie that stun her on the nose, soon drawing a trickle of blood and hoots from the crowd. Kyra decides to retreat too late from the abuse, covering up her face now in profound panic, but luckily saved by the bell before Melanie can advance on her again to inflict more vengeance. Melanie grinning cautiously though, knows she manages to steal the round back from the Vixen with her latter offense.

Round 3: Surprisingly, Melanie opens with more measured attack, hanging back from an offensive Kyra and just tagging the brunette in the cheek with long jabs. Kyra now the one growing frustrated and reckless, damned if she wants to hit her glove on her opponent’s body, but she wades in too early and gets smacked in the face with a loud right hook to the cheek. Melanie rushes in hungrily, slamming both her mitts into both of Kyra’s orbs, relishing the gasp from the swimsuit model, but her grin soon wiped as Kyra SNAPS a follow-up uppercut up into her chin. Melanie groans, backpedals. The crowd cheers at the wild brawl unfolding before their eyes. Maxim model now in trouble as Kyra delivers sharp and precise hooks to her face, bypassing her guard completely by looping punches around and behind her forearms. Melanie getting whapped and whopped and whumped silly as Kyra spins her body around with every punch, eventually throwing her lithe body into the ropes. Kyra rushes in to finish, but finds the referee standing between her and her prey. Cursing out loud, she obeys the order to return to neutral corner, leaving a gasping and wheezing Melanie slumped over the ropes, fighting to stand upright.

Round 4: Melanie trying a desperate tactic in opening moments of the bell, rushing in and under BIG Kyra hook designed to finish her for good, instead wrapping her arms around Santoro’s waist and shoving her back, using her hips for leverage. Kyra shocked and controlled, but no stranger to adolescent tactics, pounding both her hands on Melanie’s back and sides, but but suddenly, Vixen’s mouth opens in a gggnnh, body shuddering as Melanie’s right hand drills itself up and into her belly over and over again, left hand holding her firmly in place. Kyra’s lips on Melanie’s shoulder as she absorbs the belly blows, but fights back with her own hands chopping inside and up, slamming into Melanie’s tits. Melanie now the one gurkking from the underhanded blows, trying to separate and escape, allowing Kyra the space to SMASH an uppercut that breaks her guard and into her chin! Kyra going to town on a dazed Iglesias, abandoning body work now and smacking her fists into Iglesias’ wobbly chin. Brunette screws her eyes shut as each blow lands - finally, body corkscrews on the spot from the force of the blows, crashing onto the canvas in one big heap of rotating limbs... KNOCKDOWN SANTORO!!

Referee steps in between a panting Kyra and a motionless Melanie on the ground. The Maxim model’s head rolled over to one side, gum shield freed from her mouth, soaking in a puddle of spittle beside her. Referee waves it off - no need to count to 10 for this one...

Official Decision: Kyra Santoro defeats Melanie Iglesias via KO4!!

After: Kyra raises her right hand to the cheering crowd, but the brunette has no victory smile on her face. Part exhaustion, part disappointment instead at being unnecessarily buffeted about by the rookie’s reckless punches, Kyra admits the bittersweet victory to the waiting press: “I let her get to me too early, too often. I could have done better,” she sighs, hanging her head in shame. Head Trainer Steve Boyd, however, is all smiles, breaking into the press circle and embracing Kyra’s frame with tight arms, a large grin on his face.

“That was fantastic, kiddo!” he smiles, before wrapping her protectively in his arms once more and escorting her away.

Melanie, still in the ring, being revived with smelling salts. “Wha-- wh-- where am I?” Reality hits the brunette hard as she’s also circled by the press corp.

“How does it feel to lose, Melanie?” “Who’s next for you, now that you’ve lost to another rookie?” and “Are you considering retirement?”

Melanie again fighting back her disappointment as she’s helped to her feet and escorted backstage, doing her best not to consider their vulture-like questions.
