Before: Nothing typical about this title bout. Punchers not noted for intra-stable bouts, but Troian as #1 Contender at Bantam has been putting pressure on Shay to give her a shot at the belt. Shay has finally agreed. However, the fight won’t be taking place at the FCBA, but will be piped in from a private island in the Caribbean. It seems there is a fight-loving billionaire who has always wanted to have his very own FCBA title fight in a ring he has had constructed outdoors. Reputedly said billionaire has made this fight financially worthwhile to both the PLP and the FCBA. Some grumbling heard from those who would have preferred to see this showdown in person and were not among the lucky invitees to the event.

“I would have preferred a regular FCBA crowd,” says Shay to a crowd of reporters at the FCBA Media Center, “but I have always loved to travel and I’ve been to the island. It’s beautiful and full equipped for the fight. Now as for fighting someone I have been so close to, it’s peculiar, but as someone said ‘there are no friends in a boxing ring.’ The rivalry between Troi and myself has been growing and frankly, I welcome the chance to settle it in a ring especially since I know I am going to win.”

Troian looks up from her side of the table: “Oh, I wouldn’t be so sure of that, Champ, I think those belts will look even better on me than they do on you. I have wanted to find out for a long time which of us is the better fighter and I the chance to get my first title is going to make it VERY special. Plus I am as much of a world traveler as Shay and I agree with her that this island going to be great venue for us. I am sure all our fans will love even it is brought to most of you via Jumbtron.”

Come fight night (and it is a warm, tropical night with just a slight breeze blowing in from a gentle sea. The arena is set in a green square surrounded by tall trees and is brightly illuminated. Several hundred of the mystery billionaire’s closest friends are seated at ringside with tents erected as dressing rooms. Danielle Harris, PLP General Manager has been pressed into service as Troian’s trainer for the evening while regular trainer Nia Peeples has charge of Champ Shay’s corner.

Troian is in a shimmering red satin bikini with darker red boots and gloves. Her dark hair is in battle braid. Shay is in a dazzling white satiny bikini with black boots and gloves. Her dark hair is secured by a white ribbon. As the fighters meet in the referee in center ring they both are looking tense and anxious to get this going. Finally the preliminaries are done, the fighters are in their corners. The people at ringside and those in the FCBA Arena lean forward with anticipation. The bell rings.

R1: Both fighters out briskly from their corners and start punching. Shay finding Troian’s chin early and often. Troi not liking the chin music, crouches behind her gloves and uses her jab to counter the champ to the body. Shay going after Troi’s ribs with stinging lefts and rights. Troian trying to answer with some shots to Shay’s belly, but Shay getting some nice shots into Troian’s forehead and then its back to the ribs. Troian circling, trying to slip in some uppercuts to the champ’s chin, but runs into some hard jabbing to the face. Troi falling back and Shay advances now hooking hard to her challenger’s midsection. Troian still in retreat though she is able to jab back enough to make Shay wary by the bell. Round goes wide to Shay Mitchell.

R2: Shay right back at the ribs and belly of Troian as the round gets started. Troian standing her ground and trying to employ her jab with more effectiveness. Unfortunately, Shay deflecting the jabs and now finding Troian’s head. Troi getting her noggin knocked around and finally has to go backwards to get away from the constant head shots. Shay staying close in pursuit returns to Troi;s body with her punching. Troian makes a stand late in the round and her jab is getting better, scoring some quick thrusts into Shay’s face, but it’s too little, too late as Shay takes her second round by a wide margin.

R3: Troian evidently urged to go on the offensive this round and that’s just what she does, catching Shay coming in with a beautiful hook full in the champ’s stomach. Shay doubling up and backpedaling rapidly. Troian circling, trying for Shay’s head now, but Shay shakes off the belly shot and gets into a close-in battle with the challenger. Rapid-fire punching at close range has both fighters trying to push off with their feet to bring more power to their punches, Troian slowly pushing Shay back despite fierce resistance. Not a lot of movement backward but even the leather flying between the two, it is an accomplishment that allows Troian to edge out a close round for her first success of the night.

R4: Shay not backing down and neither is Troi. They waste no time getting out to mid-ring and hammering away. Some circling this time, but mostly just two fighters concentrating on finding places to land punches that will do the most damage. Shay gives special attention to Troian’s ribs, but Troi seems to be working Shay stomach area with some quick uppies to the breasts when she can slip one in. Shay ignoring the jugg work and roasting Bellisario ribs until she finally gets the challenger to back up. Finishing touch is a clip on the chin that sends shivers down Troi’s long legs as the bell sounds. Close again on the judges’ cards but this time round awarded to Shay.

R5: Troian catches Shay off guard with a sudden shift in tactics, Shay is headed in for a resumption of the body action, but Troi neatly steps aside at the last moment and sends a crashing right into Shay’s jaw. Shay caught hard and spins away. She stays on her feet, but she is definitely swaying. Troian wastes no time in getting over swing away and try to bring the champ down. Shay going face-in-gloves, allows herself to get hustled to the ropes where she leans against the strands as Troian tries to land something solid. Shay slides along the ropes, but Troi not about to let her get away. A typhoon of leather crashing into the huddled-up Shay but she doggedly rides the storm out. Troi looking annoyed at the bell and stomps off to her corner. Shay makes her way back to her own corner. She looks more than a little foggy and her corner crew swarms around her stool trying to get her ready for the next round.

R6: Troian seems eager to catch Shay before she can cover up on her again. She rushes in with some head shots aimed at keeping the champ in a fog. However, Shay shows impressive comeback powers as she dodges these shots and counters with the ol’ one-two to Troian’s jaw. Troian looks to seeing stars as she stumbles away following the shots to the chin. Shay in pursuit gets in a couple more punches to Troian’s jaw before the challenger covers up. Shay quick to shift her punching to Troian’s torso. Troi unable to make a stand, goes into retreat and fumbles to get her jab going. The next thing the challenger knows, her butt is against the strands and Shay is closing in. Troi clinches to buy herself some time, but Shay’s looking very determined and Troian finally has to resort to face in gloves, but she manages to stay away from the ropes. Shay keeping a steady lashing on Troian’s body to the bell. Shay scores a big comeback as she answers Troi’s sweep with a sweep round of her own! Shay smiling. Troian frowning and achy looking, but firm in her steps back to her stool.

R7: Another charge to the mid-ring from both fighters. Troian wins the race and lands a stunning smash to the chin with her right. Shay comes to a stunned halt . Troi swift to attack Shay to the body. Shay doubled over by the impacts, she is trying to back up, but is not able to do it very rapidly as Troian is now firing away with strong rights and lefts to the head as Shay keeps her face behind her gloves. Shay finally coming up and fighting back with her jab. Troi’s attack slackens, but she is putting a lot of leather into the struggling Shay all the way to the bell. Shay looking pained as she straightens up to return to her corner. Troian averting her eyes as she marches back to her own corner.

R8: Troian off her stool with quick movements, but Shay is slow and cautious as she comes out. Troian starts moving quickly with feinting movements that draw Shay off balance. BOOM! Troi swings her right into Shay’s unguarded jaw. Shay lurches off to one side, bangs into the ropes AND SHAY MITCHELL GOES DOWN! Shay on her knees and then braces herself with her gloved hands on the canvas. She is panting hard, shaking her head, trying to pull herself together as the referee is counting. At “SIX!” she starts to rise and manages to be fully erect at “NINE!” Referee checks Shay over who keeps nodding that she can go on. The official waves Troian back in. Shay makes a desperate effort to use her jab and some footwork to hold Troian off. It works for a few exchanges, but Troian is going hard at Shay’s belly and making her shudder with each fresh impact. Shay stumbling as she tries to back up and Troian sees a gap. In flashes a powerful right uppercut and it connects beautiful to Shay’s chin! SHAY GOES CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK! Shay lands so hard that she actually bounces before coming to rest, arms and legs outflung in a classic starfish. Shay groaning and moving her head as the referee moves in to start his count. Shay struggles valiantly to rise. She actually manages to push herself into a nearly sitting position with one arm. She looks around with a blank “where-am-I” expression as the referee reaches: “TEN! YER OUT!”
THE WINNER AND NEW FCBA BANTAMWEIGHT CAMPION: TROIAN BELLISARIO KO8!

After: Troian smiles gravely and steps from her corner raising her right arm to acknowledge the vigorous applause of the ringside crowd. (Back at the FCBA Arena the crowd is mixed. Cheers and shouts for the new champ, but distress among the popular Shay’s many fans). Troian hurries over to Shay who is being helped carefully to her feet by Nia Peeples. Troian hugs Shay who has tears in her eyes.

“If I had to lose the belt I am glad it was to you,” Shay says.

“I have to say I am, too!” Troian says with a grin that makes Shay smile, “but you sure didn’t make it easy.”

“Not hard enough, unfortunately,” Shay says regretfully as she watches an FCBA official bring out the Bantamweight Title Belt.

Troian gives Shay another hug and then joins her trainer Danielle Harris and PLP communications director Autumn Reeser. Autumn then snaps digital stills as the Bantamweight Title belt is formally put around the new champ’s waist. Shay watches with a sad look and then departs the ring with her trainer Nia Peeples.

Close back and forth fight. It appears that Troian was able to do more damage that Shay and then finish her off in the 8th. So now Troian has the title belts and keeps them in the Pretty Little Puncher family, but one must wonder what will happen if and when she and Shay clash again.
