BEFORE: Liz McClarnon's BBU career never really took off despite a rare win over current champion Una Healy along the way and things only got worse when she was axed from Girls Friday a little over a year ago. To maintain her nose-diving stock the Merseyside singer is forced to accept undercard status on international duty and BBU TV's Georgie Thompson thinks of her as pure "go-to" journeywoman with zero chance of recovery.

The same can't be said of Martina Stella who enters tonight's contest as a genuine rookie but has reportedly dominated the Italian celebrity boxing scene in the bantamweight class. The blonde actress has featured on the gossip pages as one of several past girlfriends of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi but vows to make her name all by herself in BBU now. Given the calliber of the opposition, she's destined to make a loud entrance to the UK-based boxing organization.

Round 1:
Liz wants to prove she's still got some gas left in that tank of hers and takes advantage of Martina's hesitant approach which is understandable considering her rookie status. The singer drives her shots up the middle and tries to catch the fellow blonde on the chin however the lack of core strenght is rather visible and despite her best efforts, Liz is simply unable to shake the Italian off her comfort zone. The partisan crowd urges Martina into more aggressive action but the actress prefers to see the English attack out in mid distance and soaks up minimal damage as McClarnon wastes a golden opportunity to dent the Italian hopes straight away. She gets blocked with a stubborn high guard in the final minute before getting wrestled back to the ropes for a good measure.

Round 2:
More of the same in the second, Martina just allows Liz to keep working her thing but the effects are barely making the locals sweat. The English tourist gets a little annoyed after a while when she realizes that Stella simply toys with her to some extent and scowls in anger when another looping combo bounces off the high guard. Martina affords herself a smile when she notices the singer losing her temper and finally deploys a steady offensive drive that immediately freezes the Merseyside blonde in the center of the ring. Stella ignores the desperate earmuff and digs her gloves into the singer's ribcage before breaking through on the chin and pounding the really hapless looking Liz back to the ropes. The bell saves the tourist from serious trouble but there's a long way to go in this one yet!

Round 3:
Martina drops her sluggish attitude for good here in the third and gallops into the older blonde's midsection which quickly sends Liz into a desperate defense. She tries to loop single hand assault and somehow catch the local favorite with a lucky haymaker but the ammount of pressure Stella puts on her takes it's toll sooner rather than later and backs the former Atomic Kitten firmly into the ropes come the second minute. McClarnon gets vocal again as she tries to punch herself out of trouble but a quick left/right hooking drive sinks her on soft knees before a vicious left hook tears a patch under her eye. Ugh! Liz just sinks in the corner after that one and has no answer to Stella ripping through her guts for the remainder of the round.

Round 4:
Liz is slow to get up and looks a little misty in the eyes; Martina pounces on her very quickly and resumes the midsection assault which wobbles the hapless singer forward and opens a hole upstairs in the proccess. Stells ROCKS the aching rival with a crisp uppercut on the chin and then cleans out the exposed tummy as McClarnon's arms collapse by her side and offer no protection anymore. Another hook swiftly wrenches Liz's head to the side before a right hand piledriver finds the nose and shuts the older blonde's eyes for good... DOWN GOES McCLARNON!!! The embattled Merseyside girl finds the canvas as the legs simply give way and Georgie Thompson becomes very sarcastic in the booth: "Everyone saw this coming ever since Lizzie walked into that ring!" The count is rather slow and the slick-haired ref probably wants to see more of Martina's skills here tonight! The Italian plays around with her gumshield but doesn't look all that concerned and actually bursts out laughing when her foe rises up from the dead at nine and a half. "U want more? Be my guest!" The final minute is like a ruthless execution and McClarnon's otherwise pretty face takes the worst of it... she gets whipped around and sags on the ropes with Martina laying into her like a drum... she adds further cuts under both eyes and literally batters Liz out of her senses as the arms drop numb just before the bell and the poor Merseyside tourist is left counting her lives when a mammoth left hook shatters her jaw! Ugh! That was downright brutal and the ref should have pulled the actress off her prey... Talk about The Italian Job here... Liz is unconscious even before she hits the deck right as the bell sounds and remains face down in the corner for minutes... even Georgie Thompson looks worried when the medics fail to revive her and call for extra help. KO4 Martina Stella in ultra dramatic fashion!!!

AFTER: The Italian actress shrugs her shoulders and rebuffs Thompson's dirty style accusations: "I only did what I'm paid to do. You watched all the footage from my Venice Film Festival garden boxing the other day. She should have done the same! It's not my problem she can't frickin' box!" Well, so much for the Mediterranean hospitality then! But Liz should have really known better. Is she truly that desperate for cash to serve as Ms. Alpha Cannon Fodder? Even Georgie Thompson can't solve that riddle tonight but the evidence presented is overwhelming.
