4 February 2017 Cher Lloyd vs Sandy Moelling

Page history last edited by anonononononononon 6 years, 8 months ago

BEFORE: Cher Lloyd's rise to BBU's elite continues and takes her for another German journey here in Cologne tonight. The 23 year old brunette dispatched Jeanette Biedermann on her debut back in September and now vows to repeat that performance against Sandy Moelling of the Black Eagle Boxing who fell to Keisha Buchanan last time out. Sandy's career hasn't really taken off even after signing with the Gina Wild-led stable but she's got enough tools to become a vast upgrade over some of Lloyd's recent opponents which include the lacklustre Chelsee Healey and Jesy Nelson.

Cher Lloyd wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a long ponytail. Sandy Moelling wears a golden bikini set and red gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a loose bun at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Cher's on the move early on - determined to stamp her authority over the fellow singer, she zips past Sandy's initial jabbing effort and buries a solid right on the tummy, bounces off the rack and seeks connection with the jaw but falls into overhand counter as the blonde's not impressed by that start and whacks Lloyd on the eye before cleaning out her rack too as both women settle for a classic flyweight punchfest until the German thinks better of it and jumps back into safety. She awaits another brunette charge which comes soon - more jabbing on the cleavage punishes the blonde's boobs but a heavy right hand follow up only finds the guard and forces a late stalemate with Moelling looking happy just to see out the high-flying rival's antics for the time being.

Round 2:
More jabbing efforts from Lloyd who once again leaps into an early barrage only to bounce off Moelling's forearms and fall into piercing counter as she gets her head whipped backwards after a left/right combo on the nose. Sandy's quick to follow it up, she pummels the rack and has Cher wobbling back but there's no immediate punishment as the younger singer keeps her cool and adjusts her stance to match the blonde's stubborn approach. Single hand attack from the German singer makes little progress thereafter though and Cher takes over the command come the final minute scything through the blonde's guard and digging her mitts into her cheeks. Sandy wobbles back to the ropes amid repeated painful yelps but eventually manages to clinch her foe and avoid serious damage.

Round 3:
Black Eagles owner/coach Gina Wild doesn't look happy during the break at all but things only get worse in the third as Cher beats the blonde for another overhand swing and digs her mitts into Sandy's lips which snaps the head back & forth with the German losing all her coverage and allowing the youngster to beat her up in the center of the ring. The Cologne crowd is visibly upset by this lack of proper defense from their gal and Moelling quickly disappears behind a high earmuff without actually showing much mobility. Cher barks in her efforts to dismantle the older singer to pieces and pounds her back to the ropes come the second minute where she stays clear of the desperate high guard and explores Moelling's midsection. This tactics keeps the German trapped in the corner for remainder of the round and Georgie Thompson believes she's got very little in reserve to derail the Gypsy charge.

Round 4:
The age difference between these two begins to show in the fourth already, while Sandy tries to escape the journeywoman status after signing with the Black Eagles last year, she's no physical match against a girl 12 years her junior here tonight. The timing is everything sometimes and Cher keeps her fast rising career well on tracks as she slices through the blonde's collapsing guard and hauls in more crisp facial punches to render Moelling completely useless in the center of the ring. The blonde's yelps are getting too loud to handle anymore and Lloyd adds more juice roughing the German up until she simply can't take it anymore. Another left hook finds the eye before a right handed blast bounces off the temple AND SENDS THE BLONDE TUMBLING DOWN ON THE CANVAS! Coach Gina Wild slumps against the post in the corner while Lloyd seemes to thrive on the jeering response from the Cologne audience. Meanwhile Sandy remains down on the boards until the count reaches seven before making a late recovery. However she looks quite worn out by the Gypsy attack and sports a nasty shiner under the left eye as well as a misty-eyed look in general. She refuses to quit the show but Lloyd whacks her over the top regardless and basically swipes back to the corner where only the bell saves the German pride but Georgie in the booth thinks it's all over bar the shouting.

Round 5:
Moelling comes back for another round but she's stranded in the center of the ring and quickly gets wrapped up in another leather assault from the English brunette. Cher wants to knock the poor blonde out here and piles on more facial pressure with Sandy's guard falling by the wayside along with the jelly knees that sink her into punchbag mode well before the one minute mark. Cher takes extra pleasure in adding more lumps to the blonde's body and coach Gina Wild has to hit the killswitch button AS SHE THROWS IN THE TOWEL with Sandy unable to land a single punch for over forty seconds now... TKO5 Cher Lloyd!!!

AFTER: This was a downright ugly conclusion to the fight billed as the upset in the making by the German media. As durable and dangerous as Sandy was being labelled beforehand, she got totally exposed by a vastly superior opponent tonight whom Georgie Thompson calls the best flyweight prospect not named Stephanie Davis in the BBU right now. Only few fans and experts should disagree with that statement and the gleeful Cher even has the nerve to drag the numb Sandy all the way back to coach Gina Wild before getting involved in a heated conversation with the former Lioness Club head trainer. Gina's methods were questioned several times last year and the mishandling of Sandy Moelling's schedule will be discussed in the press for granted as a familiar German face leads the twitter assault and reminds everyone just why Wild got fired form the Barnet-based stable over twelve months ago:

Jeanette Biedermann on twitter: Gina nearly killed my career and now she does the same with Sandy! #FireHerAgain #CherLloydStillSucks

Final result: Cher Lloyd def. Sandy Moelling TKO5 (Corner Stoppage).
