Intro:
Next up is the battle between Alessandra Ambrosio and Rosario Dawson, two beauties wanting to break into the top rankings in the lightweight division.
Alessandra is 35 years old, 5'9 1/2 and holds a record of 8 wins, all by knockout and 2 losses in her fledging career.
Rosario is 37 years old, 5'7 and has a record of 7 wins, 6 by knockout and 6 losses in her own career.
Speaking before the fight to the press, Alessandra shows some respect to Rosario, saying "Dawson is going to be a handful, you don't fight some of the names she has, beating some of them without being tough"
As always there's a.."but she hasn't fought me, I'm a knockout machine and I'm aiming to add Dawson onto that growing list of names, so keep watch Melbourne"
Rosario on the other hand looks ready to fight just going by her interview, "do these models think I'm going to standby and let them jump over me?" She asks no one in particular.
"After I lost my management, first Kendall Jenner just about beats me, now Alessandra thinks she's the next girl in line, hell no is my reply!" Roars Rosario, standing up and about to leave her press event.
Till she turns and finishes by saying "Alessandra, sweetheart, go back to the catwalk, because after I take you down, it'll just prove once again that you can not swim with us sharks in the big blue sea" then storms off to go train.
Fight night, out comes Alessandra first with Taryn Terrell and Eva Carneiro by her side, the beautiful Brazilian struts her stuff wearing a yellow sports bra, yellow trunks to go with her gloves and shoes.
After doing a little belly dance for her fans, Alessandra walks the ramp like she's in Paris and not the Rod Laver Arena.
Till she climbs into the ring and does a lap so she can blow kisses to her adoring fans, who cheer her, once she finishes her lap, she warms up in her corner with Taryn helping her out.
Now out comes Rosario, the New Yorker is wearing a white sports bra, trunks with Dawson in black letters on her waistband to go with her white gloves and shoes.
Unlike Alessandra, Rosario isn't graceful on her way down to the ring, quickly walking down as she wants to get to grips with her opponent tonight and prove a point.
Climbing into the ring, she glances over at Alessandra and smirks as she clearly doesn't rate what she sees in front of her.
Both girls are ushered to the ring centre and look each other up and down, neither looks exactly worried about the other as their eyes finish judging.
Asked to touch gloves, there's a quick swipe and quickly back they return to their corners, the referee nodding to both girls before he signals for the bell to ring to begin 10 rounds of Lightweight boxing action.

Round 1:
"Ding" out come the girls quickly, circling in tight, they start off banging away to the others guard, hoping to pry them open and rip away at each other.
Alessandra lures Rosario in early, dropping her left slightly, the American takes the bait and swings a right cross to take and hit the open space.
But Ambrosio ducks under the punch and steps forward to rifle three unanswered body shots right to the abs of Dawson, who attempts a left hook that just about gazes the gloves of Alessandra as she steps back.
The girls are quickly back in tight, trading shots around the others guards to bodies, but Alessandra shows impressive footwork, stepping out the pocket and forcing Rosario to come to her.
Then she faints with her left and lands a vicious uppercut, that Rosario had to shake off quickly as Ambrosio comes on the attack.
Ladhing rights and lefts in to try and smack Rosario into submission, the girl in the white gear is covering up and retreating from this onslaught.
Before she finds her own opening to strike, landing two straight punches through the centre of Alessandra's gloves, Rosario starting to push back with her own hard shots.
Both find their footing again to step in and just pound away, the crowd shouting for both girls to hurt the other and they don't need an invitation to do that by the looks of things.
Rosario gets a hard left cross to her face that turns her head, but quickly comes back with a right cross of her own to end the round.
No afters from either girl as the bell rings, just jogging back to their corners to get cleaned up by their coaches, some pink marks are starting to form on both fighters bodies and cheeks as the war between these two has really begun.
Round 2:
Out comes Rosario quicker than Alessandra, trying to shove the Brazilian back into her corner and the round begins as vicious as the end of the last round, just two big girls smacking each other around to a blood hungry crowd.
Alessandra manages to stop herself being forced into the corner, two hard shots to the body of Rosario doing the job of moving her back.
But as she tries to fire in a hard right hook, she just misses by inches and takes a counter to her nose, as Rosario now slams in a double jab to knock Alessandra back.
Back and forth go the girls, neither wanting to back up from their opponent, but finding themselves fighting around the ring.
Before Rosario seems to take the ring centre, knocking Alessandra back with cleaner punches in their exchanges as Ambrosio is circling her opponent.
The model trying to force the actress from her spot, but Rosario has her feet planted and she is controlling the tempo of the fight now from this centre spot.
With the round coming towards an end, Alessandra tries to lunge in with a right cross, only to be met with a sidestepping Rosario, who lands a double jab to the side of the face and then forces her back with three body shots.
Before Alessandra can land a left hook to turn Dawson's head around and a straight punch just before the bell rings to end the round.
A quick glare is exchanged, but both hot tempered girls are surprisingly keeping things professional, heading back to their corners to get fixed up, neither too happy as neither has taken a lead yet in the fight.
Round 3:
Rosario seems to be getting stronger now, as Alessandra comes on the attack, Dawson disrupts her attack with sneaky straights and jabs.
Then she takes the ring centre again, controlling Alessandra onto the outside, slamming the cleaner shots between the two.
Both girls glaring at each other as they wait to strike, when they do; it's a hail storm of punches between the two, Rosario knocking Alessandra back each time.
But Alessandra won't be stopped and as she finally lands a hard right hook and left to the body, she finally forces Dawson from her spot in the ring.
The New Yorker fights back and the two girls start brawling in tight, swinging punches to the others body, while trying to shove each other around.
Alessandra yelps and as she steps back, it's revealed that she has a cut across her left cheek, a right cross landed to open it up and Rosario goes right for it.
The Brazilian is covering up as Rosario comes straight on, knocking Alessandra towards the ropes, forcing Ambrosio to have to fight her way off the ropes.
There tempers seem to have finally blew as the bell rings and the girls keep throwing at each other, the referee having to get between the girls to stop the girls fighting.
Both girls glaring over the referee, shouting at each other as they blame each other for a sneaky shot after the bell, which is rich when both kept brawling.
Finally they head off to their corners, both still looking pissed off, but calming down enough for their coaches to take control of the situation to start their own duties.
Alessandra has her cheek cleaned up, wincing each time it's touched, her eyes staring hard over at Rosario.
Round 4:
Somehow both girls keep their tempers down to circle around each other, Alessandra tries to sneak a left through but Rosario parries the shot and lands a right cross to that cut cheek.
Rosario presses forward, knocking Alessandra back a few steps and the Brazilian's corner looks worried for her, especially as she finds herself near the ropes again.
Alessandra keeps fighting back though, sneaking shots to the abs of the American, the black woman winces but lands another hard right to that cut.
It seems to be the gift that keeps giving for Rosario, every time Alessandra charges forward, a swift punch to that cut and Ambrosio grunts and retreats a step.
Another the ring goes both girls, Rosario looking to take the ring centre like the last few rounds, but Alessandra is doing enough to keep her off that part of the ring, swinging more shots to the body of Rosario.
As the round keeps going, it is becoming noticeable that Rosario is slowing down, Alessandra is coming on stronger as she keeps taking the air of out the lungs of Dawson, digging away to that body.
Maybe not having a stable to train in has effected her stamina, as Rosario does land a left hook to shove Alessandra back.
But again Alessandra strikes forward, a straight lands to the abs of Rosario and she slumps slightly, the crowd seem to notice and Alessandra's fans urge her to push on.
Alessandra head down, shoves her way forward, banging away to the body of Dawson, who grabs on to her to protect herself and the two girls grapple in the ring centre.
The referee separates the girls, with not long left in the round, the girls trade in tight till the bell rings and this time the girls separate on their own, both showing pained looks on their fans.
Back in their corners, both girls sit with their eyes shut for a moment, their coaches back at work, both open their eyes nearly in unison to stare at each other, judging each others current state.
Round 5:
Rosario starts off strong, trying to keep control of the fight, throwing a barrage of punches early on to seemingly try and end this fight.
Alessandra covering up as Dawson keeps on going forwards, till Rosario gets caught under her right jug and as she gasps, suddenly she's on the backfoot.
The model charges back at Rosario, slinging her punches to the flanks of Dawson who is looking desperate with her own punches.
Rosario shoves Alessandra back to try and create some space, but Alessandra is back into her face, working the body and forcing Dawson around the ring.
The girls slug it out near the ring centre, hurting each other by attacking each others weak spots, Alessandra groaning as that cut on her left cheek is running blood down the side of her face, while Rosario's eyes are half shut.
A hard digging right to the side of Rosario, followed by an uppercut drives Dawson backwards to the ropes and if she didn't clinch up, Dawson may have been down on her back.
The referee getting between the girls, struggling as the girls wrestle a bit on the ropes, snarling at each other as their tempers look ready to boil over again.
Finally they are pulled apart again and Alessandra lands a vicious right hook to rock Rosario, the black fighter is knocked back to the ropes once more as she covers up.
Alessandra tries to rush in and Rosario lands a right to that cut to start fighting back off the ropes again to show the fight in her spirit.
The round coming to an end, Alessandra sneaks an overhand right to wobble Rosario's legs, Ambrosio comes forward again to force Dawson back again.
The bell rings with Alessandra almost strutting back to her corner, clearly sensing in her own mind that she has Dawson where she wants her, even if her face looks a mess with the blood running from that cut, which Eva quickly works on cleaning up.
Rosario doesn't sit down right away, head down facing her stool and her arms on either side of the top rope in her corner, Rosario is breathing hard and looking pissed off.
She sits down after being urged by her coach, who attempts to help her get as much air back into her lungs and try to reduce swelling to her face.
Round 6:
Alessandra is straight onto Rosario, forcing her around the ring, Dawson is trying to get back into the fight but is finding herself being knocked onto her heels.
The crowd are on edge, they can sense that the fight is going to go one way or the other soon.
Rosario lunges in with a right straight that Alessandra parries and slams her own right to the abs of Rosario in reply.
Then she bangs her fists into the stomach of Rosario and shoves her back into a neutral corner, the girls fighting in tight as Alessandra looks to end the fight now.
An overhand right to Rosario seems to do the trick, her legs look like jelly and she's slumped into the turnbuckles, covering up for dear life.
The referee edges closer to look over at Rosario, and as it looks like he is going to stop the fight, Rosario manages to throw some punches to give her a chance to create an opening and pulls Alessandra into a clinch.
Both sweaty fighters are locked up tight, Alessandra trying to break free so she can hammer Dawson to the canvas,the referee has to get involved to get the girls apart.
Rosario gets into space after the girls are broken apart, Alessandra comes for her once again and Dawson throws wild punches, anything to keep her opponent off her so she can survive the round.
The bell rings to end the round, Alessandra looking annoyed now as she stares down Rosario, who is feeling like she's been shot out of a cannon, her body is bruised and she is almost gasping for breath.
Back in her corner, she cradles her body but tells her coach "I'm fighting on!" As he looks worried about her.
Round 7:
Rosario shows her heart, getting out of her corner and coming to fight, the girls meeting in the ring centre, circling and trading stiff single shots to each others faces.
Alessandra's cheek is bleeding again after a round where it had a break, her eyes almost look wild as she stares right through Dawson and starts pounding her fists straight back into her opponent's face.
Blood is now running from the nostrils of Rosario, her guard is dropping too low and Alessandra tees off with two vicious right hooks that turn Rosario's head around and down she goes!
Dawson's eyes open but she clearly doesn't know where she is at, the referee begins a count, but swiftly stops as he waves the fight off and waves for the medics to come into the ring.

Winner: Alessandra Ambrosio KO Round 7

After:
A massive win for Alessandra, who stares at Rosario with a hard glare before shaking her head and heading to her corner to high five Taryn and Eva.
The doctor helps Rosario to her stool and tries to help clear her head, but she's still dazed by the knockout and quickly they decide that she needs to be helped to the back by her coach and a medic at ringside.
The proud New Yorker is helped out to a round of applause, she showed great skill and courage, but tonight wasn't her night it seems.
Alessandra meanwhile gets her gloves taken off and her face cleaned up by Eva, finally a smile crosses her face as the anger she felt during the fight is over and she can now go on to bigger things she hopes.
But first she has to get her hand rested and while she is sore, she still gives the crowd a quick Samba dance as they cheer her on.
Soon she leaves the ring, blowing kisses to the guys and girls in the front row, bouncing on her toes up the ramp but inside she is hurting from that fight.
In the back, she is met with the press and she speaks her mind "Rosario is a true Latin girl, full of spirit and fight, but I'm the better woman, I proved that tonight, but I honestly wish her good luck in future"
Then her speech goes to another topic "but you see, I want you Missy, Peregyrm has been hiding in her Lookout gym since she attacked me during Chriqui's birthday bash, but the time for sneak attacks and other bull is over, it's time to put up our dukes and settle this face to face"
Before she storms away to her stable locker room, clearly not in the mood for any questions or to say anything more.
