Intro:
The opening bout of tonights French card sees Clemence Posey fight Marion Cotillard, with the fighting reportedly getting a shot at the winner of tonights French bantamweight title fight winner here in Paris's AccorHotels Arena.
Marion is 41 years old now, but she still looks a million bucks and while her career has not prospered in the ring like her movie career (2 wins, 2 knockouts and 10 losses) she says that this is her chance for a renaissance.
This would be as good a chance as any as she fights the 34 year old Clemence, who has never won in 6 attempts, she hopes her youth though over Marion can give her this win.

The girls met on the French Rivera in Nice to be precise for the press event, both in fine dresses (Marion's is light blue, Clemence is pink) after giving each other a light peck on each cheek, they separate and are handed microphones to speak to the cameras.
Marion is asked to speak first, she tells the cameras "it is always wonderful to be back in my home city and not be a visiting fighter like our dear Clemence here"
Posey just smirks at the visitor comment, Marion continues by saying "I will of course give her a welcome fitting of her, though that means in this case that I will have to punch you till you either cry or submit at my feet dear Clemence"
It's turning into the sweetest sounding trash talk you will hear as she doesn't raise her voice, just sounding like two old friends chatting.
Clemence doesn't break the mould with her voice, replying "but dear sweet Marion, I can't let you do that, you see I want one win on my career and that French title would look good on my slim perfect waist I think you'll find"
Marion still has what people have worked out quite quickly a fake smile, Clemence adds "I come here to fight for my pride and it doesn't matter who I face after you madam Cotillard, I will rewrite my career with two wins"
The girls are led to a face off, both looking calm and even keeping the fake smiles on at this point, maybe believing it unladylike to use insults.
Before separating, the girls kiss each others cheeks again, but as they embrace, their does seem to be a small tug from both on each others hair, letting the other know their true feelings.

Fight night, Clemence is out first with Micaela Schaefer by her side as her coach, the girls look calm as they chat to each other at the entrance of the aisle to the ring, before starting their walk down to the ring to a mixture of boos or respectful applause.
Clemence is wearing a black sports bra with little white dots dotted around it, matching trunks with Posey written in white letters on the waistband and black shoes with matching gloves.
After climbing into the ring, Clemence shows some respect to the crowd with a smile and nodding to them, but she knows she's in hostile territory, so doesn't press trying to get them on side, instead just heading to her corner and waiting for her chance to fight.
It won't be too much longer as out comes Marion with her coach to a deafening roar! If the title fight wasn't on this card, the atmosphere alone would make this a main event feel.
She begins her walk to the ring wearing a PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) shirt, which makes Clemence scoff, surely thinking "I have enough trouble getting support then seeing that"
Marion steps up to the top of the stairs, then takes her short off to reveal a PSG inspired sports top, a dark blue top with a red Eiffel tower in the center of her bust, she has dark blue shorts to go with her shoes and gloves.
Finally climbing into the ring, the look on both girls faces show that for all the sweet tone they spoke in prefight, this is how they really feel about each other.
Asked to come to the ring center, the noise hasn't went down one decibel as the girls stare each other down, the referee having to shout his instructions.
Signalling for a touch of gloves, the fighters do touch with not much gusto, saving their energy it seems for the fight itself.
After gumshields are placed in, the referee looks happy to signal for the bell to begin 10 rounds of bantamweight boxing action.

Round 1:
Out come the girls, neither rushes out their corners, almost surprisingly tentatively they meet near the ring centre.
Confidence has to be an issue when you look over both girls careers in the past year or in Clemence's case; her entire career to date.
The girls start with jabs, the crowd urging their hero to fight harder, which Marion seems to be having problems with as the slight reach advantage of Posey is letting her land the cleaner shots.
Clemence is having one of her better rounds in her career, almost dancing on her toes as she keeps the range with that jab to long.
Marion though is starting to get pissed off, she knows in her head she shouldn't be having this much trouble from her opponent.
But to Clemence's credit, she continues to keep Marion back with a jab and quick thrown straight right and then steps back as the hometown girl goes to land an overhand right.
As the round gets to the halfway stage though Marion finally starts to get into gear, throwing a left faint, she quickly plugs the gap between the two and lands two hooks up top.
Clemence looks startled, pundits all at ringside all agree that she shouldn't be as Marion unloads on her opponent, knocking her back to the ropes.
The girls trading on the ropes as the crowd chanting for Marion as the action heats up, Clemence getting caught with a right hook and a left hook.
Clemence is now covering up as Marion goes to work, sending her punches to the body to almost knock her through the middle ropes.
Posey pushes herself back up to grab Cotillard to boos, she needs to try and survive though as all her early work is being for nought right now.
The bell rings not long after the girls are separated to end the round, Clemence looks annoyed, shaking her head as she goes back to her corner.
It doesn't help that Marion is waving for the crowd to stand and cheer louder, her coach trying to calm her down, sitting her down on her stool to clean her face.

Round 2:
The girls come out quicker then the last round, Marion looking to close the gap early, Clemence almost jogging backwards to use her jab.
It shows the lack of confidence Clemence has and Marion makes her pay, pressuring her to the ropes with several punches up towards her head, showing her experience by not throwing her best, just shepherding the younger fighter around the ring.
That is till she spots her opening, landing a straight to the chin of Clemence, who tries to throw something to keep Marion away.
But as she misses with a wild right, Marion ducks then steps in and cracks her opponent to the jaw with a right hook and down goes Posey!
The blonde is on her side holding her jaw, her eyes are watering as the crowd roar, the referee starting his count and pundits are already writing their reviews of this fight.
It's too early though as Clemence shoves herself up to her feet to beat the count at 8, the referee checking her over, she gamely wants to continue.
Marion is quick though to get back at Clemence, the girls trading but a right to the jaw of Posey forces her back.
She turns her back on Marion and screams "no more!" As she holds her jaw, the referee has to hold Marion back, telling her it's over as Clemence throws the towel in herself, submitting.

Winner: Marion Cotillard TKO Round 2

After:
Marion jumps up and pumps her right fist to the crowd, who roar as if she's become the world champion instead of beating a girl like Clemence.
Clemence herself is crying on the ropes, covering her face and claiming she's in a lot of pain from her jaw, the doctors rush her out the ring, clearly worried that she's broken her jaw.
Making her choice to fight on more stupid if it has been, though Marion isn't interested as she celebrates outside the ring with her family in the front row.
She has to be asked to head back into the ring as she laughs and nods, remembering that she has to be announced the winner.
After getting her hand raised, she asks for a microphone and tells the crowd in French (the live feed has subtitles for other countries to get it translated)
"Thank you so much for coming here, your support helped me so much and let's see if the winner of the title fight gives me a shot shall we?!" She says as she hands the microphone over and goes to a spare seat next to her family, clearly she wants to get a good view of this main event.
But pundits are questioning if this fight was set up to give Marion an easy win so she could be a credible title challenger to whoever wins between Lorie Pester and Clara Morgane.
We'll see if she can shot after this win and Marion looks so overjoyed as she hugs her family, sitting next to them as the time for the main event is now.
