Before: Kyra eager to redeem herself over her choppy, uneven performance over these past few weeks, scoring both wins and losses over Melanie Iglesias and Poppy Drayton, respectively. “My roller coaster stops here,” Kyra nods with a smile. “I wanna get that winning streak back in order, and Mia will be the perfect target to do so.” Audience a little shocked at the sweet Vixen’s choice of words - usual nice-girl Kyra seems to have some vested beef with her opponent for this fight.

Mia lets out a nonchalant “Hmph!” and smirks back in her red bikini-hugging body, covered only by a loose white robe. “Kyra’s only sore that they named me the SI Rookie of the Year instead of her.”

Immediately, the statement stings a reaction from Santoro’s face, forcing the ends of her mouth downwards into a scowl and a snappy reply: “Mia doesn’t deserve it. I should have gotten it instead after getting to the semis of the beach wrestling tournament!”

In the ring, Mia looking seductive as she lets her robe drift down to her ankles, taking center-stage - the newest SI rookie seems to be enjoying the limelight and her newfound fame. The beauty of mixed descent blows a kiss in Kyra’s direction, again drawing a rare frown from the Vixen, whose usual calm and poise seems to have run out of reserves. Referee waves for the bout to commence. We’re set for 10 rounds of Bantamweight action!

Round 1: Mia meets Kyra’s fury in the first round with repeated shots to her face. Kyra’s spirit doesn't seem a bit dampened by her recent loss, the Vixen roaring with the crowd as she steadies herself and advances step by step, punch by punch, throwing her weight behind those heavy punches. Mia looking out of her element, perhaps more suited to simply posing on the beach in a bikini rather than taking shots to her gorgeous body… Mid-round rally though by Mia, who must be getting tired of being smacked around. The half-British, half-Korean beauty stops Kyra in her tracks with a stiff shot to the tummy, then a right hand packs in her cheek and wobbles Kyra! Vixen thinks she’s all-that, able to bully the new girl in her debut fight? Kyra pays for it with her overconfidence. Mia now out-boxing her with heavier shots to guard, scoring some stiff hands to the face. Mia regains her grin as she pushes Kyra back to the ropes, but the bell rings before she can exact more damage. Judges give Mia a hardly-fought round, leaving the supposed ‘vet’ humiliated in the first round.

Round 2: Mia comes charging early, resumes her offense with strong lefts and rights, but Kyra shows her defensive skills - the Vixen’s time in the ring showing the crowd why experience still matters. Mia’s fists get whacked away on more than one occasion, look of shock wiped off her face as Kyra counter punches with glee and smashes face in without mercy. Mia grunting as two big left hands land in succession, forced to take steps back and throw her guard up. Kyra on fire, straight hand to Mia’s forearms followed by a left-right uppercut to the curvy model’s unprotected gut. Mia gets out a grunt as she’s forced forward, lucky right hand barreling into Kyra’s left cheek. The Vixen grunts as Mia forces her into a clinch. Heavier rookie seems to excel in a wrap with her opponent, preventing Santoro from digging gloves into her body and catching her further off-guard with a couple of flailing fists. Judges grant Kyra back the lead at the end of the second round - Kyra raises one hand to acknowledge the crowd but she’s already panting hard on her way back to corner from that hard-fought round.

Round 3: Early in the round, Mia SHOCKS Kyra with a stunner of a right hook! Kyra wide-eyed, body flung to the right along with her face. Kyra centers herself quickly behind guard, expecting the oncoming barrage from the half-Korean beauty, who now spanks Santoro’s abs with debilitating rights and lefts. Santoro choking and gasping, wondering how she got into this precarious position. Mia bullies her way back to ropes and now has a full minute of trapping her foe there: one arm controlling Kyra’s waist, the other plugging her fist into it. Santoro tries fighting back valiantly, aware of the calls from her corner to “GET THE F*CK OUTTA THERE!” in the first place. She stuns Mia with short uppercuts to rookie’s chin, snapping her jaw painfully back once-twice, disorienting her enough to stop the punishment. Mia holds on tightly however, refusing to back away all the way to the bell, where the referee has to pry her off Santoro. Definitely not a good round for the Vixen after that comeback in the second.

Round 4: Mia tries the same trick on Santoro early in the round: hiding behind her guard waiting for Santoro to make her first move, before blasting out a right hook at her head. But you don't call Kyra ‘Super Santoro’ for nothing - the brunette not about the make same mistake twice, ducks under deftly and instead slams a right fist, left fist into Mia’s glassy chin in quick succession, making Mia go URRRKK from the repeated impacts. Mia’s on wobbly legs all of a sudden, flailing her hands at Kyra hoping to get lucky - Santoro not bothered, again intercepting her wayward fists then enacting her revenge on Mia’s tummy with a one-two combo, then goes to the chin again with a left hook, right hook - MIA FLIES TO THE CANVAS after that last exchange!! Kyra exerting force behind those knock-out blows, more or less shoving her opponent down to the ground with those heavy hands. KNOCKDOWN KYRA!

Referee does the courtesy count on a groaning and barely stirring Mia Kang, but the SI rookie is barely lifting her head, hands pawing at imaginary ropes - referee waves it off at the 10-count!!


Official Decision: Kyra Santoro defeats Mia Kang via KO4!


After: “I know I keep saying this, but I hope I’m back for good this time,” Kyra hesitantly responds to reporters immediately after. “It felt good to be on win-streak before. Mia’s just the first step to that recovery.”

Mia unavailable for comment, still in a daze in her corner, when Kyra strides up to her with both hands on hips. Audience holds their breath as they wonder if Santoro ‘Miss Nice Girl’ is finally gonna turn rogue or something like that. But Kyra holds out a hand to the seated Mia, hoping to bury the hatchet? Mia stares it for a moment, before reaching out and accepting. Kyra pulls Mia up to her face-to-face, whispers some pleasantries at her opponent. Mia, however, forces her lips into a sly-looking grin - next thing you know - she plunges her forehead into Kyra’s in a nasty headbutt! Kyra reeling backwards, tackled to the ground by a resurgent Mia Kang, where they curse and slap at bodies and faces. The two beauties have to be separated by present ring officials, but at least the audience treated to the first sight of Kyra Santoro tugging on another girl’s hair whilst straddling her back, in a rare display of ‘vixen-ness’ from the Vixen. Seems like Kyra really does belong on their roster after all
