    Kristen Bell vs. Amanda Seyfried

    (Words: FS / Results: Lookout!)

    BEFORE:

Three-time flyweight champ Bell, after an inactive 2016, is back in the ring and looking to get right back into the crowded flyweight title picture. The blonde beauty believes she has another title run in her, and, considering the success she's had in the FCBA, only the foolish would doubt her. "Yes, I was on the sidelines last year, dealing with my family and my new TV series. But, I'm back now and there's only one thing I'm back FOR, the Unified Flyweight Championship. As for Amanda, I have nothing against her. She's just the next girl I have to beat on my way to the titles."

Seyfried's a completely different story. A young comer a few years ago, the blonde beauty got the reputation of a girl who couldn't win the big one after, well, she failed time and again to win the big one. Amazingly, her career continues to be defined by the third round of a fight against Kristin Kreuk in February of 2012. Seyfried earned an early knockdown and was on the verge of winning that round 10-8 to take a 30-26 lead in the fight. Instead, she got sloppy and Kruek answered with a knockdown of her own, winning the round 10-9. The three-point swing cost Seyfried when the fight went into overtime and she lost in 13. Some have said the blonde never recovered. The facts are that she's 5-9 since and has never come as close to beating a quality fighter. That, however, is something she plans to change tonight. "I know I'm not supposed to win," says a hard-eyed Amanda. "I'm NEVER supposed to win. But, I'm GOING to win, and we'll just see what everyone says when I do."

    ROUND ONE:

Seyfried the girl with nothing to lose, and she acts like it early, coming right after Bell, backing up the former champ with hard, heavy flurries. Bell manages things well, though, using her defense and footwork to avoid the worst of it and her boxing skills to answer in counter. Amanda not deterred by the counter punches. She keeps coming after Bell, determined to get physical with her. And, she pays the price. About halfway through, Kristen lands a NASTY right hand counter and SEYFRIED'S HURT! Amanda staggers and nearly goes down. And, now it's Bell making with the heavy leather, hammering away with hard combinations to the head and body that back Amanda into the ropes. From there, Krissy is absolutely clinical, giving her fellow blonde a nasty beating on the cables right to the bell to claim the first wide and grab a 10-9 lead.

    ROUND TWO:

Bell right back at it. Plan now is to make quick work of a still-wobbly Seyfried. But, if there's one thing Amanda's always been, it's gutty. Blonde gives ground but makes Krissy pay a price for it, firing back hard and trying to hold every inch of canvas. As always, no doubt about Seyfried's want-to, it's just that she can't. Until she can. It's another counter punch, this time from Amanda, that changes the complexion of the round. A keyhole right hand and now KRISSY'S HURT! Bell all wobbly-legged and Seyfried flips the switch and goes right to the offensive. She's letting it all go now, firing away with everything she has. Bell backed to the ropes, just as Amanda was in the previous round, and now it's Seyfried who's doing the punishing. She works Kristen over for a full minute, but, Bell manages to survive the round. At the bell, though, it's Amanda wide and we're even at 19.

    ROUND THREE:

Seyfried pushes the action early, looking for a clean up if not a stoppage. About 30 seconds in, though, it becomes obvious that Krissy's got most of her legs back, as she's able to dodge, parry, and counter, so Amanda slows the assault. Oh, she's still working forward, still getting physical, but she's not taking unnecessary chances against a fighter as good as Kristin. For her part, Bell happy to counter punch. Result is that the fast early pace slows and things get a lot more tactical. And, to her credit, Seyfried proves she can hold her own on these terms, even against a girl who can box as well as Bell. It's nip and tuck for the last two and a half minutes of the round, with neither fighter able to create much separation from the other. By the bell, there's not much in it, but Krissy's done just enough to claim the points and the 29-28 lead.

    ROUND FOUR:

More of the same. Tactical stuff. Amanda playing more of the offense, pushing the pace, while Bell defends and counters. Again, it's good, two-way stuff, with each fighter able to score. And, again, it's a counter punch that changes everything, a lightning right hand from Bell that swivel's Seyfried's head. Amanda's legs give a shimmy, and that's all Krissy needs to see. A barrage of leather follows and DOWN GOES SEYFRIED! Amanda puddling at Kristen's feet as Bell hops away to a neutral corner. Heartbreaking stuff as Seyfried struggles desperately to get off the canvas, make the legs work. And, just when it looks hopeless, she pushes to her feet at nine. Referee takes a long look while giving the mandatory, but he decides to let it continue. And, ON COMES KRISSY. Bell looking every bit the lioness now, hammering an injured Amanda back into the ropes and working her over, wobbling her with punch after punch until it all becomes to much. The referee leaps in and bundles Seyfried to safety despite her tearful protests. It's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is Kristen Bell!

    AFTER:

Bell matter-of-fact in the post. "I definitely had a bit more rust than I thought," the blonde cutie says with a shake of the head. "That right hand was there a couple of times and I wasn't quick enough with it. When the rust flaked off, though, I hit my spot, and that was the fight right there."

For her part, Seyfried bereft. No comment for the press. Just a head down walk back to the dressing room surrounded by her handlers. It hasn't exactly been a great month or so in Amandaville with the loss to Cole and the leaked photos and now another big opportunity gone wanting. The FCBA can be a cold, cruel place.
