Before: Sarah looking to bounce back from loss Mila Kunis, get herself back in title contention with a boost from the taller dancer. Alicia meanwhile, knows that Shahi is her ticket into the elite.
Sarah in black bikini; white gloves; long low pony with bangs framing face. Alicia enters with a leather jacket over a white one-piece, black gloves and boots, hair loose down back.
R1: Alicia using her extra inches to open, showing Sarah plenty of movement, using the whole ring, bouncing in to sling whippy right hands to the gut or cheek of her foe, then pivoting around and dancing away as Shahi covers up midring. Shutout Vikander, Sarah blocking anything dangerous upstairs, but unable to find a way to respond against the mobile ingenue.
R2: Sarah jabbing Alicia's chest just to make contact, then hooking the jaw, then bodying up to shoulder her back. Vikander forced to come off her toes and the girls lean in sweat it up inside. Action more to Shahi's liking – she has Alicia where she wants her, makes her give up her belly and breasts in punishing flat footed exchanges at the ropes. Vikander showing that stubborn streak she showed with Dobrev, laying in with Shahi, left across her abdomen, right at her cheek, just trying to clip the brunette with little swipes as Persian Princess pushes to expose more torso. Sarah’s fight, Sarah’s round.
R3: Sarah continues to rein Alicia in this round, always coming forward, slinging that heavy stick from the hips. Vikander parrying and slipping punches well, but giving ground to do it. Once again Shahi gets Alicia's back on the ropes brunette able to square away at times, put batting punches to work up and down the new Tomb Raider’s flanks. Hard working round goes to Sarah, Vikander just can't roughouse with her.
R4: Alicia finally back to the hit and run, often catching Sarah clean with lead right hands to the chin, follow up hook to the beltline, then pivot clear and reset. Shahi walking through it, continuing to apply pressure with her legs - she's getting outclassed, but she has Vikander on the run, tactically good news even as she drops the round
R5: Alicia upping her work rate now that she’s regained the initiative. Coming in off the jab and once she's close, doubling up the hook in the stomach, extending the left as she shifts weight to her right foot, then drives in with hard right hands. Sarah cringing slightly from the body work - she's been taking that hook on the beltline all night long and it's starting to stick with her.
R6: Sarah’s had her look—former champ starts to punch. Lead right hands short as Shahi leans in, HARD scouring hooks off the left front foot, Vikander getting touched ribs and chin, backing away, loping to her left. Sarah closing—lead right hand EXPLODING off Alica’s face, stunning her—mop up hooks harming her to the body, cleaning up on her chin as Vikander’s defense evaporates. Second minute, Alicia’s only plan: run—but legs are wonky, shabby as Sarah’s short, murderous punching adds up. Short chopping right hand sets up raking hooks, Vikander stumbling, sliding along the ropes, shipping shellack—head on a swivel as she clatters sideways under sheets of determined Shahi punching. SMASHING short right hand carried in close, pounding off Alicia’s face sits her in the ropes: left uppercut to belly; left uppercut to breast; LEFT UPPERCUT TO JAW! Right hand to the body, push with the right hand; LEFT UPPERCUT #4 and VIKANDER GOES DOWN! Alicia beaten senseless, sprawls on her belly all used up, come-from-behind KO6 in savage fashion, Sarah Shahi!
After: “Well, that was exciting! She’s clearly not going anywhere any time soon, but then neither am I!” Sarah gushes afterward. New fighter Alicia proved she can compete at this level, but Shahi showing that Olivia Holt may be her anointed successor, but she’s still here to LEARN
