TESS VALMORE
DIZON/D. RYAN Dizon took the first round. The rest of the bout was all Ryan who won rounds two and three and finished Dizon off in the fourth with a right to the jaw
McCURDY/BENSON The bout was even at two and still even at the end of four. The fifth went Benson’s way and McCurdy was hurt as the round ended. Word was that McCurdy hurt her left hand in round five. She didn’t use it in round six, and fell victim to a right cross that put her down for the ten count
K. BELL/SEYFRIED Seyfried came into the bout on a six fight, four year losing streak. Make that losing streak now seven. Bell didn’t have a whole lot of trouble taking two of the first three rounds and then flatting Seyfried in the fourth. Seyfried should consider giving up fighting. After all she got cut by the Wiz. That should tell you something
L. COLLINS/DEUTCH Deutch got off to a good start taking the first three rounds before Collins got on the cards in the fourth. The fifth was great round. Collins went down for a seven count and then Deutch went down for a nine count, Collins took the sixth round and then ended the bout in the seventh, with a right uppercut to Deutch’s chin. Collins KO7
KEEGAN/SCERBO This was really painful for me to watch as my BFF was taken to the cleaners. Keegan took the first two rounds, but Cassie had evened the bout up by the end of the fourth. Although Keegan was bleeding from a cut she managed to deck Scerbo in the fifth. Cassie came back to win the sixth. In the seventh, Scerbo had Keegan in trouble and then got careless and Keegan landed a series of punches that sent Scerbo down to defeat. I told Cassie that three inches was too much height and reach to give Keegan
M. FOX/K. RUSSELL The only surprise in this bout was that Russell actually won the first two rounds. She didn’t last the third. Fox unleashed a body attack that was more than Russell could could take. Fox KO3
HEWITT/C. COLE No surprise here. Hewitt won the first round and after that it was pretty much all Cole. Cole ended the bout with a couple punches to Hewitt’s nose, Cole chalks up a KO6
SHAHI/VIKANDER Shahi took two of the first three rounds only to have Vikander even the fight up at four. Vikander took the lead in the fifth, however, the lead was short lived as Shahi landed a series of uppercuts that left Vikander out on the canvas
S. GOMEZ/M.WILLIAMS I had the first four rounds scored as even. The fifth was some kind of round. Williams decked Gomez early and Gomez came back to put Williams down late in the round. The two seemed to take off in rounds six and seven trying to recover from round five. Williams recovered better. She won round eight, and then ended the bout in round eight with a monster hook. Williams wins in her 200th fight.
VANCAMP/MAFFIA VanCamp was a heavy favorite going into the bout. The pundits were right. Maffia won the opening round. The rest of the way, it was Vancamp, who did experience a little trouble in the fourth. VanCamp put Maffia away in the fifth with a pair of hooks..VanCamp KO5
LOPILATO/KANE After an even first round, Kane took rounds took the lead by winning rounds two and four In the fifth, Kane got a little overconfident and decided to slug. Bad mistake. The slugging went Lopilato’s way and a series of hooks left Kane out on the canvas
SCODELARIO/J.MORRISON This turned out to be a Scodelario showcase. She dominated the fight while it lasted. She took every round before KOing Morrison in the fifth. That should get her some attention
MINHEE/GLAU Glau was in the lead in the bout going into the fourth. In that round, Minhee decked Glau for a five count. The fifth was the reverse. Glau floored Minhee for a seven count. In the sixth, Minhee caught Glau with an uppercut that sent her to the floor. Glau was unable to beat the count
MACK/ROBBIE Robbie won two of the first three rounds only to have Mack go into the lead by decking Robbie in the fourth. Mack increased her lead by taking rounds five and six, The wheels came off for Mack in the seventh. Robbie floored her only to have Mack saved by the bell. Mack hadn’t recovered to start the eighth. Robbie floored her again, Mack got up and then was punched helpless and the referee stopped the fight giving Robbie a TKO
MUNN/FISHEL Fishel won the first two rounds and had Munn close to defeat in the second. Munn survived and evened up the bout by the end of four. Fishel had Munn hurt again in the fifth, but couldn’t close her out. That failure cost her because in the sixth, Munn landed a perfectly timed right hook and Fishel was down and out
DRAYTON/VANDERVOORT The newcomer Drayton looked good early taking three of the first four rounds and flooring Vandervoort in the third. Vandervoort managed to take the fifth, The veteran then ended the newbies night by catching her with a four punch combination. Vandervoort by a KO6
ATWELL/TERRELL JMDD Atwell
AMBROSIO/DURANCE It’s one of those questions. Was this a great performance by Ambrosio or a disastrous performance by Durance. I would have to say both. Durances relative inactivity is costing her. No more than is this bout. Ambrosio, while not dominating, won almost every round, before.putting the hammer down in the sixth with a right hook to the body that left Durance on her knees unable to rise
NOLIN/GARNER Oh did I enjoy this fight? You bet I did. I must admit I was worried when Nolin floored Jennifer in the third, but Garner managed to stabilize the bout in the fourth, In the sixth, she sent Nolin down, however, Nolin managed to beat the count and last the round. Nolin hadn’t recovered at the beginning of the seventh and was easy prey for the Hall Of Fame fighter, who ended the bout with a right hand to the temple There is no prettier sight than Nolin being counted out. Nolin showed her true colors in an after fight incident.of unsportsmanlike conduct
typical of Nolin
KENDALL JENNER/K. BROOK The 38 year old Brook was on a three fight losing streak The 22 year old Jenner was on a five fight winning streak. Both streaks are intact after the fight. It was an active fight that I had even at the end of four. The fifth went to Jenner as she had Brook hurting as the round ended. In the sixth, Jenner landed a right uppercut and a right hook and Brook was toast. Jenner KO6
AGDAL/SHAYK I had Shayk slightly ahead at the end of four. That would all change in the fifth,. Adgal unloaded on Shayk, who was saved from a TKO by the bell. The bell wouldn’t save Shayk in the sixth. Agdal caught her with a savage right. Shayk went down. The referee took one look and didn’t bother to count.
AZALEA/RIHANNA Not much to say about this bout. Rihanna lasted about five minutes and that includes the time between rounds. Azalea gave Rihanna a terrible beating in the second before Rihanna finally went down not moving as she lay on the canvas
STRAHOVSKI/PALICKI Once again a bout was even at four, however Strahovski got hurt in the second. Yvonne decked Palicki in the fifth to take the lead. Palicki came back flooring Strahovski in the sixth and once again the fight was even with Strahovski looking a mess. Strahovski managed to come back in the seventh to hurt Palicki and then landed a series of punches that sent Palicki down. Palicki managed to get to her feet as the count reached ten, but the referee waived the bout off giving Strahovski a controversial KO7
M. KERR/WINSTEAD The bout was even at the end of four. Kerr took round five to go into the lead. That lead didn’t last long as Winstead shelled Kerr in round six and had her ready to go as the round ended by the bell, saving Kerr for another round. Kerr being saved did her no favors as in the seventh Winstead landed a huge uppercut and Kerr was out before she hit the canvas
G. HADID/ROHRBACH The bout was even at two and still even at four, but the fourth round was all Rohrbach who had Hadid hurt and ready to go when the bell sounded saving Hadid. Hadid had not recovered by time the fifth started and was easy prey for Rohrbach, as she ended the bout by clobbering Hadid with a booming right
M. RYAN/KALJICH The first half of the bout was pretty much all Ryan as she built up a big lead through four. Kaljich finally got on the cards by taking the fifth and then closed the lead by flooring Ryan in the sixth. In the seventh, an exchange of hooks went Ryan’s way and Kaljich went down and was counted out
GOVICH/BLOODGOOD Two 40+ welters going at it Govich won the first round with Bloodgood taking the second. Govich took the third, and Bloodgood evened the fight up by taking the fourth and having Govich looking the worse for wear. It all came to an end for Bloodgood in the fifth, as Govich landed a shot to the stomach and right to the jaw that went Bloodgood down for the count
RHODA/LANCASTER Rhoda is one of the new welter sensations causing a revival of the welter devision. Lancaster had fifteen minutes of fame winning welter tournament and then the title. Since then she has lost four straight while Rhoda is 7-0 going into the bout. The bout was scored as even through four although I thought Rhoda was having the better of it. In the fifth, Rhoda stunned Lancaster with a right hook and seconds later KOed her with a right cross. Rhoda is now is now 8-0 and this win could well get her a title bout
NIGRI/LOVATO JMD title Nigri
T. ATKINSON/UPTON JMDD title. Upton
BELLISARIO/WILDE For the bantam title The bout was even at two and even at four Wilde won round five, with six being declared a draw. Round seven was all Bellisario as she had Wilde dazed and confused at the end of the round. Bellisario ended Wilde’s confusion in the eighth with a right to the solar plexus and a big right uppercut to send Wilde down for the count. Bellisario retain the bantam title
G. ATKINSON/H, FERGUSON For the welter title. The bout was even at the end of four with Atkinson going down in the third and Ferguson hitting the canvas in the fourth. The bout was still even at the end of six. Atkinson won the seventh, but in the eighth disaster struck as Ferguson decked Atkinson twice. Atkinson was a wreck as she came out for the ninth and it didn’t take Ferguson long to end the bout with a right uppercut.. Ferguson wins the welter title in only her twelfth fight.
LIMA/SWAN For the Lightweight and Ice Hotel titles (ice hotel is an unofficial FCBA title) The bout was even at the end of four with Swan being hurt in the first and fourth rounds and Lima being hurt in the second and third rounds. Lima won the fifth and decked Swan in the seventh to take a big lead. Swan closed the lead to one point by flooring Lima in the eighth. Swan won he ninth, making it even going into the last round. Late in the round Lima landed a right hand that sent Swan down in a sitting position. Swan gained her feet at the ten count but the referee waived it off. A controversial KO decision, however Swan would have lost on points anyway
