TESS VALMORE
GRAHAM/ROBERTSON Robertson had the lead at the end of three. It all changed in the fourth as Graham decked her with barrage of punches. Robertson got up and managed to last the round. Round five was a repeat. Graham again floored with with a flurry of punches. This time Robertson didn’t beat the count and Graham walked away with a KO win
THIESSEN/BENNET. This bout didn’t last long. Smackey had just brought me a cup of coffee (It’s been a long day with the PPV starting in the morning). The bout was over before I finished the cup, Bennet unloaded on Thiessen in the first, however Thiessen managed to finish the round. Somehow Thiessen managed to take the second. She should have stopped there. The third round started, and then it was over just that quick , as a couple shots to the body sent Thiessen down for the count
PALTROW/PERRY Paltrow may be one of the most disliked actresses in Hollywood, but she is popular at the Asylum judging on the number of times she has been here. Her performance tonight just may bring her back for another bout in the future. The bout was all Perry who took the first round. The second lasted about a minute a half as Perry landed a blockbuster right and Paltrow was out. I still hadn’t finished the cup of coffee (it was a big cup)
SHAH/WINTER Shah was a double loser as she not only lost the fight, she lost the disrobing. She was wearing a pink bikini. Pink, do you get that? That’s a terrible color for a fighter. Well, that’s my opinion, which is the only one that counts when doing this column. After Winter won the first round, Shah came back to take the next two and take the lead. Winter evened the cards in the fourth. The fifth had barely begun when Winter dropped Shah with a left hook. Shah managed to get to her feet only to eat a big right hand and the bout was over. Lesson here, never wear pink
PIKE/RUAH As a disclosure, I have said before that Ruah is one of my Front Street favorites. This bout was much like the previous bout. After Ruah won the first round, Pike came back to take the nest two and the lead. Ruah evened the bout up by taking the fourth. Ruah shelled Pike in the fifth and it was remarkable that Pike was still standing at the end of the round. Ruah continued the bombardment in the fifth, which lasted only about a minute before Ruah landedt the final blockbuster that sealed Pike’s fate. Ruah KO5. I hope the next fight goes longer. Smackey had just brought me a Sam Adams. Camera guys told to keep their cameras off me.
MITRA/TORV Coffee and then beer? I’ll have to talk to Smackey about that. So back to he fight. Mitra had a fine first round, however Torv had a better second hurting Mitra with a short right. Mitra came back to take the third hurting Torv. The fourth round had barely begun when Torv decked Mitra with a right hand. Mitra managed to get to her feet at seven. Torv then proceeded to beat Mitra senseless and the bout was stopped giving Torv a TKO win. Now I had to go interview with Anna and I had only been able to get a couple of sips from my beer. When I get back to the table, McCarthy had swilled the whole thing. Such is life in the press
