(Girls Friday vs Free Agent)

intro:
The opening bout in Gatesheads International stadium sees Emily Atack fighting her former stablemate Sammy Winward.
These two used to argue all the time was the stories coming out of the stable when they were team mates, so this feels a long time coming for both.
Emily is the younger at 27 years old and shorter at 5'3, compared to the 31 year old and 5'5 Sammy.
But Emily is a former BBU flyweight champion, holding a record of 10 wins, 9 by knockout and 9 losses to her name.
Compared to Sammy, who woefully has a record of 2 wins, both by knockout and 8 losses.
Both girls were interviewed separately by Anna Woolhouse, the BBU reporter looking for a scoop on what started this feud.
Emily answered "Sammy was always jealous of me, I mean look at what I have done in the ring, then look at her career, you couldn't get two polar opposites if you tried"
Which Sammy admits to, the polar opposite bits of course as she said "Emily is a disrespectful bytch, I was the flyweight leader there, she kept sniping at me behind my back and when I did go face to face with her, she his behind management, now she seems to have realised that she can't hide from me forever"
The rest of the interviews are full of sniping, about each others looks, both claiming the other would screw a wet scarf, etc.
At the weigh in, both girl got to see each other again, Emily clearly heard telling Sammy "does it look like I'm hiding c***!"
Sammy shoving Emily back and only security stops anything major happening between the girls, who spit at each other, such is the hate between these two blondes.
Fighting time, Emily comes out first with Lauren Berlingeri and Eva Carneiro by her side, she is wearing a navy blue sports bra, with matching shorts, shoes and gloves tonight.
Heading down to the ring, Emily looks focused, banging her gloves together as she walks down the ramp, then jogs up the steps and climbs into the ring to a loud cheer.
Nodding to the crowd, she goes through her warm up routine, Lauren drilling her as she knows how much this fight means to this youngster.
Now out comes Sammy, her coach pats her on the back and tells her "this is your night" as she is wearing a white sports bra, matching shorts, shoes and gloves, while her hair is tied into a ponytail.
Marching down to the ring, both fighters are staring hard at each other, Sammy jogs up the steps and into the ring she goes to a respectable cheer, this being the first time fighting in the North East as she never got a chance to fight under the new management who fired her.
Asked to come to the ring centre, the girls do as told, keeping themselves warmed up by bouncing on the spot, eyes never leaving their rival set.
They are asked to touch gloves, but neither moves to lift their gloves, this is a grudge fight and there will be no respect for the loser tonight.
After they head back to their corners, the referee signals for the bell to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Out come the girls, not much testing out as these girls have sparred enough times over the years to know each others strengths and weaknesses.
Sammy keeping the range as far as she can, ripping straight punches at the guard of Emily, the younger blonde trying to Bob and weave her way forwards.
The older blonde timing her movements though, side stepping the eventual attack from Emily to land two hard shots to the side of her face.
Emily doesn't look too worried, firing out her own jab to find the hole, then when Sammy tries to step back, finally Atack times her charge to get on the inside.
Banging away to the sides of Sammy's body, Winward groaning as she's surprised by Emily's straight forward attack, she's used to Emily dancing around when they trained together.
Instead Emily is ripping away at the body of her rival, forcing Sammy to fight on the back foot already, her eyes focused on getting the job done.
Sammy has to shove Emily back to create some space, smacking the cheeks of Emily with two cross punches seems to give her some room to think.
Before she knows it though, Emily is back on the attack, slamming shots through the guard of Sammy to her face.
For all her talk before the fight, Sammy is looking anything but a leader as she is covering up under an assault from her former stablemate.
Emily pounds Sammy towards the ropes and if not for the Bolton lass managing to shove her way forward to clinch up with Emily, the referee might have had to stop this early.
Separated, Sammy lands two straight punches, followed by a left hook to have the most success she's had this round and it's not far from the end of the round.
Emily slips under a right hook soon enough though and lands an uppercut to rattle Sammy, who is desperately throwing jabs and straight punches to keep her away.
But Emily catches her to the ribs with a right hook just as the bell rings, Sammy groaning and shoving Emily back as she looks hurt already.
Emily jogging back to her corner, gearing up to get back at Sammy with her mind set on shutting her up once and for all.
Sammy gets back to her corner, looking miffed at herself for letting herself get caught napping as often as she did.
Round 2:
Off they go again, Sammy much more cautious, slinging out her jab to try and protect herself more then to really do damage.
Emily smirking behind her guard as she faints with a left and sees Sammy flinch, "I'm in your head" thinks Emily to herself as she looks more confident now with her footwork.
Both trade jabs, till Emily tries to charge in again, getting caught with a right hook though as Sammy appeared to be playing possum.
On the attack from nowhere, Sammy is snarling as she tells Emily "did you think I'd be that easy c***!" Spiking her fellow blonde on the nose with a quick flurry.
Emily on the back foot as Sammy is the one working the body with some crisp shots to her side now, the round starting to look a mirror of the first round.
The difference is Emily buckles down and gets back to the inside, the girls trading hard shots over each others guards.
Till Sammy steps back from a right cross and lands a left hook of her own to make Emily stumble backwards, the crowd look stunned as Emily is pressed onto the ropes.
Sammy working hard with body shots slamming around the guard of Emily, who looks pissed off that she is being hammered now.
Clinching up with Sammy, both shove each other with their bodies in the clinch, till the referee gets involved to separate the pair.
Emily parries a right from Sammy and comes back at her with a right to her cheek, then a straight left punch as she starts to get back into her rhythm.
Sammy lands a right cross though and follows with a left to her ribs, as the fighters fall in tight, exchanging shots to the body with short sharp punches digging their way in.
The bell rings with the girls shoving each other away, exchanging a few choice words till the referee has to shout louder for them to get back to their corners.
Which they do as their coaches look them over, seeing some swelling appearing on their cheeks now.
Round 3:
A stiff set of jabs from both girls starts the round, neither taking their eyes off each other as this personal feud is heating up.
Sammy tries to land an overhand right, but misses and pays as Emily comes forward with two hooks up top snapping her head side to side.
Once more Sammy is on the retreat and Emily isn't interested in giving her a second chance, land a lunging left hook that puts Sammy down to her side!
The crowd are up on their feet as they look at Sammy, who is being counted now by the referee, she's shaking her head; showing she isn't knocked out, but can she get up in time?
Using the ropes to help, Sammy beats the count at 8, claiming to the referee "it was a lucky punch" as if he cares how lucky it was.
Ordered to fight, Emily comes looking to put Sammy down once and for all, slinging hooks that just miss their target.
Sammy throwing a good two punch combo through the space left by Emily's wild attacks to ward her back for a moment.
It looks like Sammy might actually get back onto the attack, but she's caught with a right cross now on her lips, Sammy yelping as she backs off.
Allowing Emily to get back onto the front foot, head down as she barges into Sammy and smacks the groaning fighter to her ribs and body repeatedly.
Sammy clinches up before she gets smacked through the ropes and onto the floor outside the ring, the referee in between the girls soon enough as the fight continues.
Sammy doing everything in her power to survive this onslaught, retreating as Emily stalks her across the ring, till her back hits the ropes.
Emily steps in quickly and the fighters start slugging it out on the ropes, Sammy hoping to catch her opponent with a haymaker on the button.
But Emily is outworking her, keeping her plastered onto the ropes with pounding rights and lefts to the body, Sammy beginning to slump onto the ropes.
The bell sounds might be relief to Sammy as Emily stops hammering her, or she's dreading going back to her corner knowing she has to come out again, it's hard to tell as her face is a mask of pain right now as she walks back to her corner.
Emily scowls over at Sammy, wanting to get over to her and beat her down to the canvas so she won't get up again.
Round 4:
Sammy comes out looking to fight, she won't let Emily beat her and she shows it by starting hard with a flurry of punches that just about miss Emily, who has to be careful not to let her great last round go to waste.
The older girl lands a stiff straight and looks to build on it with a right cross, but Emily ducks under and comes roaring forward with a right uppercut that rocks Sammy.
Stumbling to the ropes on jelly legs, Sammy is blinking as Emily quickly charges across the ring, landing a vicious right hook to knock Sammy through the ropes!
If not for the photographers at ringside, quickly catching her and rolling her back into the ring, that could have spelled real disaster.
Though as the referee checks her over, he waves the fight off as Sammy has been knocked clean out, in no way can she continue.

Winner: Emily Atack KO Round 4

After:
Emily lifts her fists to the crowd who are roaring their support for her, her eyes never leaving the sight of the downed Sammy till Lauren rushes into the ring with Eva to celebrate.
Lauren lifting up Emily in her arms and telling her "that was amazing, keep this up and Jenna will come looking for you" meaning the BBU flyweight champion Jenna Louise Coleman.
Sammy meanwhile is woken by the ringside doctor, she's clearly dazed as she tries to shove herself up and nearly falls back onto her face.
The doctor waving for a stretcher, clearly thinking she needs tests to make sure it's nothing too serious, soon Sammy is being helped out the ring by two medics and the stretcher.
Sammy can be seen crying as she's been carried out, upset that her payback on her old stable will have to wait another time if she is lucky.
Emily meanwhile is buzzing, after a bad year last year, she seems to be getting some momentum, though as pundits agree at ringside, she needs to pick the level of opposition back up as Isla Fisher and Sammy Winward are not going to make you a title contender anytime soon.
Leaving the ring with Lauren and Eva, Emily doesn't seem to be thinking of much beyond this win, smiling as she feels on top of the world right about now.
Bowing to the crowd at the top of the ramp, before the girls head to the back, with her management in the VIP box looking pleased that she won, but also look deep in discussion, maybe where to take Emily next in her career.
