LEILANI DOWDING VS LORIE PESTER

Lorie: 34 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 0-1-0 since 2017, Latin Union

Before: Lorie Pester had surprised BBU fans by putting up a better debut fight than expected against Clara Morgane in a French Bantamweight Title. Lorie still seems to be in a sour mood over the way Clara treated her and which BBU veteran Leilani Dowding adds to when this fight is announced.

“I saw that fight and frankly I think the only reason people think Lorie did so well is that Clara Morgane fought so poorly early on. She underestimated Lorie and then got frustrated when she couldn’t take her out as easily as she expected. Eventually Lorie’s luck ran out and Clara knocked her out. I certainly don’t intend to make Clara’s mistake. I doubt this will go longer than 3 rounds and Lorie will have another loss on her record.”

Lorie tells press: “How dare a mediocre boxer like Leilani Dowding talk about me like that! I am proud I was able to fight as well as I did against Clara Morgane. Yes, I lost, but I know I can win. I will also admit I did not listen enough to my trainer. I will not make that mistake again. I know I am making a late start in the BBU, but I will make every bout I get count. Clara Morgane had better watch out. When I have gained enough experience I hope to fight her again and we’ll just see how many smart remarks she makes after I have knocked her flat on her back!”

Leilani in black sports bra and black bikini bottoms. Black gloves and boots. Hair in a battle braid. Lorie in purple bikini. Matching gloves and boots, Blonde hair hanging loose. Tense ring instructions as Leilani tries to intimidate Lorie by bodying up on her, but Lorie standing her ground and looking Leilani right in the eyes with a defiant glare. The Black Swan Hall ballroom quickly fills with excitement as the pair finally slap gloves together and march to their corners. The bell rings and the crowd cheers as the two boxers move out of their corners…

R1: Lorie attacking with hard punching to Leilani’s ribcage and stomach. Leilani looking startled as she is doubled up by Lorie’s blows. Lorie then trying to get at Leilani’s chin, but ends up only able to bang Leiliani’s cheekbones. Leilani dropping back and using her jab to try to control the constantly charging Lorie. Lorie very persistent in her punching even though they are increasingly ducked or deflected by the veteran. Late in the round, Lorie sees Leilani’s guard dropping to uncover her chin. Lorie lunging forward trying to punch her right hand into the gap in the brunette’s defenses. Too late Lorie discovers she has been lured into a trap, Her right hits only empty air as Leilani moves her head at the last second and then brings her own right crashing into the side of Lorie’s own chin. LORIE PESTER GOES DOWN! Lorie staggers a few feet then falls to all fours and then lurches onto her face! Lorie’s fans groaning in dismay, but it’s not over. Lorie somehow shakes it off and beats the count. Lorie understandably shaken is all defense as the action resumes. Leilani trying to punch her way through Lorie’s defenses, but can’t do it. Lorie still on her feet at the bell. Leilani wins the round and cards a knockout, but looks annoyed at not being able to finish the rookie off.

R2: Leilani trying to drive Lorie back to the ropes. Lorie is elusive and Leilani has to work hard to cut her off then punch back into the ropes. Lorie not fighting back too much, seeming to prefer to cover up rather than use the jab to try to hold Leilani off. Leilani finally able to force Lorie back onto the ropes and throws punch after punch at the largely closed down Lorie. Lorie does swing back with the occasional shot to the ribs whenever Leilani pauses from trying to use her as a punching bag. Lorie’s legs shown no sign of giving way as she rides out Leilani’s leather storm. Bell rings. Leilani standing there, sweat pouring down her panting body as Lori peels herself off the ropes and slowly walks passed her. Leilani looking after her with a “How did I not finish her off?” expression on her face.

R3: Lorie showing a good jab as Leilani comes in swinging hard. Leilani smacked hard to the face and her attack falters, Lorie and Leilani then start circling each other with steady punching from both, Lorie looking to have recovered from her earlier ring misfortunes and is giving Leilani as good as she’s getting. Leilani looking uncertain at this resistance and then Lorie attacks her to the body. Leilani jabbing back manages to drive the blonde back, but then it’s back to circle-and-punch. Leilani tries to come in but she is knocked back by Lorie’s increasingly effective jab. The back and forth continues to the bell. Judges rate this one a DRAW and few in the Black Swan ballroom would disagree.

R4: Leilani making a fresh effort to regain control of the bout strikes at Lorie’s head as the round gets started. Lorie’s head gets knocked back by quick straight rights and lefts between the eyes. Lorie falling back in shock. Leilani follows with a hooks to the belly and Lorie looks to be floundering! However, Lorie snaps a quick uppercut to the chin as Leilani is leaning in to get another shot at the blonde’s head. Leilani then stumbles back on quivering legs. Lorie slow to follow up which probably saves Leilani from a knockdown, but when Lorie does come back she is able to pound Leilani’s ribs and belly with renewed energy. Leilani is sluggish and confused in her responses. Lorie keeps up the pressure as Leilani’s defensive efforts only slowly improve to the bell. Lorie smiling as she knows what appears on the judges’ cards: she has snatched a winning around away from the veteran.

R5: Leilani slow off her stool as Lorie is looking like she has gotten her second wind. She circles aggressively around Leilani firing away at her body and keeping her hunched up defensively. Lorie footwork increasingly slick and she’s pulling a sluggish Leilani off balance. Then Lorie suddenly with a cobra-like shot to the jaw. Leilani spins away AND FALLS TO HER KNEES. Leilani looking around in confusion and breathing hard. Finally the veteran brunette makes it back to her feet. Referee is looking her over and decides to wave Lorie back in. Action resumes but Leilani looks arm-weary as she tries to jab Lorie off. Lorie is studying weakened quarry looking for just the right opening to finish her. Rookie takes a little too long looking for the perfect shot and time runs out on her. Lorie looks annoyed with herself. Leilani trudges back to her cool where she sits on her stool with a concerned look on her face.

R6: Leilani pulls herself together and charges Lorie as the round gets started. Leilani tries going for Lorie’s head, but can’t get a solid punch landed. Leilani quickly shifts to pounding Lorie’s chest. Lorie pulls back, but as Leilani tries to follow, the blonde strikes back with a deep hook to the belly, Leilani freezes, knees knocking as she tips forward and Lorie drops down then shoots up with an monster uppercut to the chin. LEILANI HURLED ONTO HER BACK! Leilani stretched out, but raises herself up on her elbows with a desperate look on her face. Referee is counting and somehow, Leilani finds the strength to get back on her feet. She is swaying as referee gives her a quick look and then waves Lorie back in. Lorie wastes no time in going through Leilani’s feeble high guard and knocking her in back several times like a bobble head doll. Leilani reeling back until a straight right in the chops knocks her off her feet. Leilani lands on her butt, hands dropping to her sides and then she just topples backwards out cold. The referee’s count is a mere formality:

Lori Pester Defeats Leilani Dowding (KO6)

After: “I trust this proves I can win in this federation,” Lorie Pester tells Archer News International reporter who has managed to slip into the ring in the aftermath of the fight. “Leilani Dowding didn’’t respect me and she paid the price! Which gives me an idea—“

Lorie catches sight of Leilani Dowding now awake, but with a shocked expression on her face as she sits on her stool. Lorie pushes her way over to Leilani and grabs her by the arm.

“You didn’t show me proper respect. Now you will do it! KISS MY BOOTS!”

Shocked Leilani is forced to her knees at Lorie’s booted feet and then Lorie forces her head down until her lips are hovering over Lorie’s boots. Leilani lets out a groan, but finds herself forced to kiss the tip of both boots. (All of this is helpfully caught up an enterprising camera crew). When Lorie is satisfied, she releases her grip on Leilani who sits on her legs with a shocked look on her face. She clearly cannot believe what just happened.

“Let this be a warning to all who fail to respect Lorie Pester: there will be a price to be paid!”

This is greeted with a mixture of cheers and boos. Rose Byrne has hurried out from the changing room with Jodi Albert another Foxfire Atlantic bantam ready to rescue Leilani. Lorie sees then coming and makes a quick exit ahead of the rescue party. Rose and Jodi then comfort Leilani and escort her away.

“Well, that was interesting,” comments FAB spokeswoman Davina Sheffield, “looks like a 50-50 night for Foxfire Atlantic. Lorie Pester had best remember that Leilani Dowding is a respected member of our organization and such uncalled treatment will not to be forgotten. I make no threats—but I do promise she will answer for this one of these days!”

Says Lorie Pester when informed by Archer News International correspondent of the FAB spokeswoman’s words: “Rose Byrne and Jodi Albert do not frighten me. If they want to fight me I suggest they have Kate Winslet call the Latin Union. I will fight any bantam they dare send against me!”

Bold words from a rookie with only one win to her credit, but Lorie Pester seems determined to find a place in the BBU. Picking fights with another stable is a well-established path, but not always a successful one. Time will tell how well it will work for Lorie.
