Kaya Scodelario versus Summer Glau

Intro:
A massive fight in the young career of Kaya Scodelario sees her fight
former FCBA bantamweight champion Summer Glau.

Kaya is in the top 50 of the FCBA rankings, the 25 year old Londoner
holds a record of 11 wins, all by knockout and 3 defeats.

While Summer is just outside the top 30, the 35 year old San Antonio
girl holds a record of 24 wins, 12 by knockout and 25 losses, she held
the bantamweight title in 2011 but will be hoping to get back to title
contention soon or later.

Coming into the fight, Kaya told the press "my road to the title might
not be the quickest, but Summer will be a good test for me on my way
up the rankings"

Asked if she thinks she might earn a title shot this year, she looked
sombre in her reply "the thing is in this division, you have such
names like Claire Dane's, Sophia Bush, Elizabeth Olsen" to name 3 out
of I'd honestly say 20 girls who could be a champion, that is not a
fun group to try to conquer, but it has to happen and as I've said,
while Summer will be a test, she's one I plan on passing with ease"

Summer looking her usual happy self, smirking as she sees what Kaya
said about her earlier that morning, replying to her comments "with
ease? Nothing comes easy with me"

Adding "she is right on the level of competition in this division,
I've been in that top half of the division for too long to be dragged
out of it by the likes of Kaya"

Fight night, out comes Kaya with surprisingly to some Clara Morgane
with seemingly always presence Eva Carneiro by herside, Clara and Kaya
have that big sis, lil sis thing going on in the stable but Clara
normally is in the ring fighting, not coaching, maybe a sign of her
own future plans.

Kaya seems ecstatic having her by her side as she walks down to the
ring with a massive smile on her face, she's wearing a black sports
bra, black trunks with "Kaya" in white letters on the waistband and
black gloves and shoes.

Climbing into the ring, she jogs to her corner, no fun and games now
as she knows Summer is no pushover.

Talking of Summer, the Serenity star is out now with her coach behind
her, Summer looking like she's raring to start as she paces the top of
the ramp, waving for the crowd to get pumped up.

She marches down to the ring with a big smile on her face, she's
wearing a light blue sports bra, matching trunks with gloves and
shoes.

Climbing into the ring to a loud cheer, the Texan native bounces on
her toes in the ring centre and gives Kaya a hard glare, which is
returned by the Cockney lass.

Kaya heads straight to the ring centre as the referee steps between
them, each fighter measures herself up to her opponent, seeing they
are the exact same height and build, a rye smile crosses both fighters
lips as they sense they are going to enjoy this fight.

Asked to touch gloves, the girls bump fists as their stares show the
frostiness growing between these two girls.

Heading back to their corners, bouncing on their toes as they stare
across the ring at each other, the bell is rung to start 10 rounds of
bantamweight boxing action.

Round 1:
Out come the girls with Kaya finding out quickly the problem that
Summer presents all bantamweight fighters, the Texan is very athletic,
leaning out the way of the early jabs from the Brit and countering
with her own strikes in the spaces left in her guard.

But Summer parries a right up top and dances to the right side of Kaya
to jam a double jab into the side of her face to show Kaya whose boss
her.

Kaya finding the situation difficult to overcome as Summer shows her
legendary style, slipping under punches and coming back up with a left
and right cross that puts her fellow actress behind her guard.
Summer looking relaxed, snapping her left out up the top to keep Kaya
behind that guard, using her right to dig her punches to the body.
Soon Kaya gets sick of being kept on the defensive, parries the jab
from Summer and lashes her own left out to hit a cross punch across
the cheek of Glau.

Kaya looking to come on strong as she digs some straight punches to
the body of Summer, looking to get some punches on her opponent.
Calmly Summer catches Kaya with a right hand across her cheek, then
follows with two to the body herself to show Kaya that she's happy to
wage war over whose body is fitter.

Kaya seems befuddled by Summer and the round ends with Summer smirking
as she has mostly led the younger opponent by the nose.

Both girls back in their corners, looking across the ring at each
other; Summer can see the cogs in Kaya's mind working, Clara Morgane
telling her lil sister as she calls her what she needs to do to win
against Summer.

Round 2:
Off they go again, Summer looking strong as her movement continues to
give Kaya problems, making her miss and snapping her punches onto the
face of the youngster.

'But Kaya is dogged in her attack, keeping coming forwards with her
guard as tight as she can, though that is just giving Summer free
strikes towards the guard to look good for the judges and protects

herself.

Kaya surprises Summer, maybe the older fighter getting too relaxed as
Kaya ducks under a right and straightens Summer up with an uppercut.
Summer is open for the first time in the fight and Kaya takes her
chance by getting in tight so Summer's flexibility doesn't have such
an effect.

Grunts coming from the Texan's lips as her body gets hit with three
punches without answer and she finds herself on the ropes.
Both fighters trading but Kaya now has Summer where she wants her,
though Summer is showing why she is a former champ as she is fighting
hard to try and get herself off them.

Kaya lands a hard right cross that snaps Summers head around and it
looks like she's subdued her opponent now, landing a right to the ribs
to add to the woes of her opponent.

Summer clinches up with Kaya, both fighters going cheek to cheek,
cameras catch both fighters whispering insults to each other.

The referee separates the fighters giving Summer her room again to
work in, Kaya looking annoyed as she has to give chase once more.
The fighters start trading single punches and Kaya does land a good
body shot with her right but gets caught with a right hook.

Separating from each other for a moment, they seem to be wiring each
other up and Summer is the one to take advantage with moments to go
with her slick style giving Kaya more issues.

The bell rings with Kaya looking up at the ceiling of the arena,
wanting to scream her frustration out, even as she had a much better
round then the first.

Summer still looking relaxed, her experience in big fights looks to be
coming to play as in Kaya's corner, it's Clara Morgane telling her
friend what to do, trying to get her head right.

Round 3:
Kaya looking to get in tight once more, still finding the enigma of
Summer hard to work out, especially as the American is getting more
aggressive.

The English fighter tries landing a right hook but just about misses
and takes a double jab to her lips and a right cross from Summer.
Summer looking to teach Kaya a lesson, pounding the younger back
towards the ropes as Scodelario covers up.

Glau is looking in top form judging by this assault as Clara shouts
into the ring "get off the ropes!" To Kaya, who is taking some hard
body shots around the guard.

Having to clinch, this is not the round that Kaya wanted, Summer
whispering into her ear, trying to get into the youngsters head.

Separated by the referee, Summer comes on aggressive again, keeping
Kaya on the back foot with rifle like straight shots at that guard.
Adding some harsh hooks as Kaya doesn't seem able to get out of her
own head, Summer keeping the pressure on.

Any punches Kaya is throwing are missing as Summer leans out the way
of and counters her to add to the troubles of the younger fighter.
It's not long till the bell rings with Kaya having to be held back by
the referee, she wants to get at Summer, who is just jogging back to
her corner without a care in the world it seems.

Sitting on her stool, Summer gets a pat on her shoulder by her coach,
all looking good in that corner.

On the other side of the ring, Clara looks annoyed with Kaya, shouting
"come on sis! Where is the girl who pounded me out! You are better

than this, put up a fight or get out the ring now because you are
embarrassing yourself!"

Kaya looks close to getting up and shouting at Clara, instead she
calms dowm enough to stare over at Summer, refocusing on her opponent.

Round 4:
Summer coming on strong, not letting Kaya get started as she moves
around her, keeping her guessing where the punches are coming from.
Drilling her jab through the guard of Kaya, the cameras catch blood
coming from the nostrils of Scodelario, who is grimacing each time she
is getting caught to her nose.

Kaya missing with a left cross and gets punished with a right cross,
back behind the guard she goes as Summer lands a right to the body.
Once more it looks like Kaya is going to be pressed to the ropes, but
she slips under a big right and lands an overhand right.

Summer blinks a few times as she looks stunned, Kaya not worried about
that, just going to work on powering her back across the ring as we
have a fight on our hands again.

The crowd look stunned as well as Kaya presses Summer back, the older
fighter does enough to get out the way of the charging Kaya, but she
is having to work much harder to keep her back.

Fighting at midrange, they sting each others faces with several
straight rights and lefts, both working hard to make an impression on
the other.

Summer lands a clean right to the nose of Kaya to force her back, the
confident look on her face returns as she works her younger opponent
back a few steps.

But she misses a left this time and Kaya steps in with a hard short
body shot to her solar plexus, Summer looking hurt as the air is
driven out her body.

Kaya now forcing her back once more with a flurry of punches, several
land to the body of Glau and now that flexibility that was giving her
so much trouble is drastically cut down.

The bell ringing not long after with Summer now looking pissed off,
rubbing her abs as she heads back to her corner.

Kaya nods at Clara as she heads back to her corner, who tells her
"don't let up on her, you've hurt her!" Shouting the last bit to get
into Summers head, Summer scowling over at both Girls Friday girls.

Round 5:
Kaya looking good as she comes hunting for Summer, who is landing a
few good jabs, but a jab is parried and where Summer was leaning out
the way of punches earlier, now she is getting caught.

There's a hard exchange between both girls as Kaya steps in to close
range, Summer getting the worse of it as her body takes several short
sharp punches, her abs getting worked over.

Getting pressed back, Summer starts covering up as Kaya rains in some
hard body shots to keep driving the air out the lungs of her opponent.
Trying to create space, Summer slips to the right of Kaya, but the
youngsters footwork is now matching her own, keeping her in the cross
hairs of Kaya.

Pressing Summer back around the ring with a flurry of punches, Kaya is
looking so much more better then she did in the early rounds.
Summer throwing a few hopeful looking jabs out, seeking to catch Kaya
coming in, but the younger fighter is taking a leaf out of the book of
Glau, leaning out the way or bobbing her head out the way of punches.
Kaya slips back forwards to land a digging body shot to the abs of
Summer, forcing a gasp from the former champ and knocks her onto the
ropes.

The fighters trade on the ropes but after a few body shots from Kaya
lands to the flanks of Summers body, Summer is hiding behind her guard
as the youngster grunts loudly with the effort she is putting into
each body shredding punch.

The bell rings to end the round as Kaya roars on her way back to her
corner, all that frustration she had in the earlier rounds seems to be
washing away as she now has Summer at her mercy it seems.
Summer shoves herself off the ropes, looking as stunned that Kaya has
been able to do such a number on her then just those body shots
ripping the air out of her body.

Round 6:
Kaya looking raring to go as the bell starts the round, Summer on the
defensive, doing her best to move around Kaya as she can't be too
static or suffer at the hands of her opponent.

The girls landing stiff single punches, a good left hand hits Kaya on
the nose and Summer seems to think she has an opening, stepping in to
look to press her back.

It leads to a vicious exchange between the two, both just going for it
as they know that this could be the moment that defines the fight.
Kaya seems to be the one on the losing front of the exchange, she's
retreating back as Summer's eyes light up and she comes forwards.
But she misses a big right and gets caught with a left from the
English girl across her chin, Summer's head turning as now Kaya powers
forwards.

Slamming punch after punch into the face of Summer, who stumbles
backwards into a corner and is now caught.

Kaya lands two shots around the guard to work the body and as Summer
tries to fight her way out of the corner, she is leaving herself open.
A right hook catches her on the chin, knocking Summer loopy as her
knees turn to jelly and a follow up right puts Summer down as she
slides down the turnbuckles in the corner.

Summer's eyes are shut as the referee checks her over, she's knocked
out and the referee waves the fight off!

Winner: Kaya Scodelario KO Round 6

After:
What a stunning comeback for Kaya, Summer was in control throughout
the early part of the fight but she is down and literally knocked out
as Kaya puts her win streak up to 5 in a row.

Kaya climbs the bottom ropes; roaring to the crowd as she raises her
arms above her head, so happy to prove she can beat one of the big
guns of the division.

In the other corner, the doctor is in the ring to wake up Summer, who
splutters awake and can't understand what happened, she had Kaya on
the ropes but she finds herself helped up in a corner after a little
nap.

Her coach looks worried even as she tries to say she is OK, clearly
she is shaken up though and she needs to be helped out the ring by the
coach.

Kaya scowling at her as she leaves till Clara gives her a big hug and
shouts "you stubborn bytch! I knew you could win!"

Now Kaya is laughing as she turns around and lifts her gloves up,
joking "you should know by now how stubborn I am from our sparring"
Both girls embrace again as they put all jokes aside, with Clara
telling her nest friend in their stable "I'm so proud of you, I have
told you how good you were since we first met, now you are starting to
show the world"

Getting her gloves taken off by Eva, Kaya then hugs her as she is
overcome with emotion, all the anger, frustration is washed all by
feelings of happiness at beating Summer.

All the girls leave the ring together and at the top of the ramp, Kaya
thanks the crowd, bowing to them before they head to the back.

The press wants a word and Kaya is happy to tell them "one test down,
whose next then!" As she looks almost ready to fight again right now,
though the trickle of blood still running from her nostrils is just a
small reminder of the damage she took, with her cheeks red and
swelled.

"I know I didn't exactly show off my skills but Summer is a tough egg
to crack, she came to be awkward and it was up to me to work her out
like only the best have before me, let's see where I can go hmm guys!"
Laughing as she leaves the press to go to the stable locker.
