1. Rachel ‘Rocky’ Barnes vs Danielle ‘Danni’ Robertson (Lightweight)

Before: Danielle arrives after a controversial win over Ming Xi and Rachel wants to make an impression on her debut; both girls channel some grudge ideas.
Danielle: “I’m on a roll recently whilst Rachel’s a fading model on her her way out. And she wants to make a change in her career options at this point? I think not. This should be a walk in the park.”
Rachel however vehemently disagreeing, calling Danni’s comments deplorable. “She’s younger, bigger, but they don't call me ‘Rocky’ for nothing. If she thinks i’m going down without a fight, she’s dead wrong.”
Girls shape up on podium and then face off against each other in the center. Yes, the height difference becomes apparent almost immediately, but Rachel looks far from intimidated, holding a steady fist hovering over Danni’s toned midsection whilst the Australian smirks down at her condescendingly, almost a head taller physically but feeling that way as well.
Round 1: Girls wade in once the bell sounds and boy do they bang away hard! Mutual agreement to do away with pleasantries sees both girls taking turns, slamming big hooks into forearms and jumping the gun on any jab-work. Danni’s strength breaking apart Rachel’s guard early on with double left-right hooks thrown in quick succession, knocking Barnes off balance. But Rachel uses smaller size to recover quickly and avoid those big punches easily, instead slamming her own gloves directly into Danni’s lean body whenever the Australian twists to the side from a missed blow. Powerful punches drawing loud grunts as both girls look like they’re working towards a knockout in the first round alone, but the bell rings and they’re bent over, already panting hard. Hard round to score as both ladies landing some big hits.
Round 2: Rachel hanging back early, some soul-searching to do as she realises that Danni’s big punches able to hurt her the moment she gets sloppy and in too close. Danni knows this as well, charges firmly towards Rachel and again shoots jab-jab at her head, then WHACK of a hook on Rachel’s guard, only Ms Barne’s agility saving her from getting floored by just one blow. Rachel however doing a good job of dodging in and out, snapping fists into Danni’s face and chest given then chance. Danni now the one getting frustrated as the blows begin taking their toll on her together with her inability to land her punches on turn. Bell rings and the crowd unusually swings to Rachel’s side, clearly on the side of the underdog.
Round 3: Pundits sitting up as the fight gets interesting when Rachel chooses to charge in quickly despite her disadvantage. Danni licking her lips, looking eager, a one-two jab to the face does little to deter Barnes as she steps in and buries a stiff left-right uppercut deep in Danni’s gut, then goes to work on her chest with a flurry of punches. Danni grimacing, firing off wide arcs of hooks aimed at Rachel’s head, but ‘Rocky’ yelps in partial surprise as she she ducks under each hand, each weave a lucky break as they simply fly over and into blurring hair. Rachel follows up with DIG of glove into Danni’s sides, pushing the big Australian back bit by bit, banging away on the body until Robertson is left blubbering on the ropes, butt firmly bunched in between.
Round 4: It’s not going very well for Danni - first three rounds see her being out-boxed - her dominant style still leaving much to be desired if she can’t exert it on a foe. One advantage the Australian does have, however, is her fiery temper. Robertson shedding her nice-girl image and going into rage-mode, throwing fewer hooks but putting her back into straight, power-shots that are hard NOT to miss when they thrown straight into Barnes’ guard. Rachel shocked as the punches descend onto her, the American model knowing full well that this barrage will not allow her to survive for long, can already feel her arms loosening from the battering. Rachel tries dodging around, slaps hands into Danni’s cheek pak pak pak pak, but they lack any venom. Danni anticipates next set of punches from the smaller girl, then WHACKS her across the cheek in carefully orchestrated swing! Rachel’s eyes go wide with shock, as Danni continues with the abuse, pirouetting her face back-and-forth, left and right with multiple drubbings. Rachel now in trouble, backing up, but Danni continues banging away, making up for lost time by jamming fists into her body, leaving Rachel bunched over her fist gasping for air as Robertson treats her to fistfuls of leather this round. Strong comeback from Danielle at the bell and the Siren raises a hand to acknowledge her return to form.
Round 5: Seems like anger management issues go both ways though: blood flowing freely to Rachel’s head as she looks like she’s about to blow her top when the bell rings. Both girls head straight for each other, going after the body with thundering lefts and rights, hoping to break the other before breaking. Rachel’s toned body now being shuddered and shaken by powerful blows as the younger Robertson uses her weight advantage to devastating effect. Don’t know what Rachel’s thinking getting in there to brawl with someone who’s built for it. Danni wickedly smiling as she plugs her fists relentlessly into enemy body… but suddenly grunts when Rachel switches up top, SCRUBS a right hook across the Australian model’s face. Look of shock registering as Rachel sweeps another left hook the other way across, and suddenly Danni not looking so confident any longer as she stumbles the other way. Rachel growls as she steps in and BATTERS the tummy left-right-left-right, ploughing arms in over and over. Danni’s mouth forms the ‘O’ shape as strength suddenly leaves her body - she falls down to her knees! It’s a knockdown for ROCKY BARNES!!
Crowd roars with approval as Rachel also straightens a victorious arm to acknowledge them. Referee begins the count as Danielle in agonising pain on her knees, both hands cradling her midsection. Rachel returning to neutral corner, awaiting the inevitable. Quite a feat indeed at being able to knockdown such a giant, however not surprising when Danni manages to get back to her feet facing the ropes by the count of 8.
Rachel charges in again when the referee waves to resume. Barnes now batting and digging her gloves into the sides of Danni’s back - the Australian sobbing and yelping as her American foe slams fists into her body from behind, Danni absorbing and trying to survive. Danni spins around before her kidneys can be targeted, but another swipe across the cheek leaves her in no better shape. Robertson decides to clinch forward, wrapping arms around the smaller girl’s chest and then shoving her backward with heaving chest in Rachel’s face.
Rachel cannot do anything in that tight hold, fists spanking on Danni’s belly down before but still being herded backwards, being drained of energy. Last minute comes and goes, and Danni’s strategy seems to be working in that at least she’s not getting pummelled by punches. Suddenly, Danni shoves her off, and Rachel finds freedom but throws her off balance, enough time for Danni to RAM a right hand straight down into her face, engulfing her mouth! Rachel grunts loudly as Danni continues with the straight hands, lefts and rights battering the nose until Rachel starts leaking blood! Seems like the Siren’s power has finally come into play, inflicting some serious damage on Rachel Barnes. Another left-right to her mouth stuns her, but nothing compared to powerful JERK of right hand straight to her jaw, sending Rachel sailing backwards and tumbling over, flooring her on her back with a THUD. Rachel sent to canvas with her arms and limbs spread-eagled on the ground, face staring up at the lights in a same-round KNOCKDOWN for Danni Robertson!
Now Danni’s turn to raise cautious hand to the crowd, but it’s quite clear that the Siren is also almost spent from the exertion. Referee begins the count and Rachel shows her own resilience by slowly but surely clinging onto the ropes for support, pulling rest of her body up to her feet by the count of 7. Round FINALLY ends, with girls effectively tied at one knockdown each for this round!
Round 6: Spectators soon sense something really amiss when Rachel lacking that spunk and tenacity, moving too slowly and throwing even fewer punches. Her nose opened up once again early on, surely disorienting her further when one nostril starts leaking red down her chest. Danni no mercy by targeting Rachel’s head almost exclusively. Nose and lips pounded on in steady barrage of punches from Roberson as the Australian beats her Barnes to the ropes. Rachel barely able to hold her guard together by this point, forearms smacked away by forceful hooks, leaving her face wide open for final BEAUTIFUL HOOK to the cheek - Rachel lets out a guuuhh as her body thrown to the side, feet can’t keep up and she collapses on herself and landing with a dull sound. This time, Rachel not moving, and referee doesn’t bother counting, ushering for medical team to get the American girl some much needed medical attention after seeing large amount of blood pooling at the base of her face on the canvas.
Official Decision: Danielle Robertson defeats Rachel ‘Rocky’ Barnes via KO6!
After: Record books will show this match as a good win for Danielle Robertson, but SIRENs officials far from happy internally, feeling that their girl could’ve and should’ve put away a rookie like Rachel Barnes MUCH earlier and easier. Nonetheless, Danielle couldn’t care less, mounting four corners’ turnbuckles and beating her chest with one fist, showing the crowds who’s boss.
Rachel being completely, recovering in her corner after being brought around with smelling salts and of course the bleeding in her nose stopped. Even though she suffered a loss, many pundits incredibly impressed by the newcomer’s showing, capable of some punching power and even more courage. It’s gonna be up to her if she wishes to continue in the ring, but this reporter clearly feels that Ms Barnes definitely has a future in this league.
