Before:
Thanks to “The Chronicles of Shanara”, Ivana is the better known Spanish celebrity boxer and it would appear Maria Valverde isn’t too happy about that.
“I was done much of my boxing in Spain. I don’t see why a mere television actress should be regarded as more impressive than myself,” Maria says in the prefight.
“If I had been interested in boxing in the BBU International circuit she would be a nobody as compared to me. She is just a young brawler who got lucky in a couple of fights. Once she gets a taste of my boxing skills she’ll be wishing she was fighting someone else.”
Ivana Baquero just smirks at all this: “KateWinslet could have done a lot better than Maria Valverde. She’s just jealous of my success. How much you paying Kate to sign you, Maria?”
“How dare you!” Maria cries. “I should slap your face!” “Go ahead and try it! “ Ivana dares.
Maria looks lile she would dearly like to have a swing at the defiant younger woman, but mutters: “A catfight would be just the kind of juvenile stunt you like. I’ll deal with you in the ring!”
Ivana just laughs and walks away leaving Maria Valverde fuming.
Maria’s FAB stablemate Juno Temple comes and gives her a hug. “Don’t letthe kid rattle you,” Juno advises, “you and I can always jump her some night and leave her tied up in her knickers.”
Maria laughs:“That sounds like fun, but I prefer to box her.”Come boxing night. Maria is in a dark blue bikini with matching gloves and boots. Hair is pulled back and secured with a blue ribbon.
Ivana has chosen a red bikini withwhite boots and gloves (red laces). Her hair is in a braid.
Maria scowling at the impudently smirkingIvana who is not at all respectful of the older fighter.
Referee has his hands full keeping them apart and getting his instructions in, but at last they were in their corners awaiting the bell. The excitement was now at a high level and then the bell rang…

R1:Ivana was fast across the ring and straight into Maria, but Maria was ready with a strong jab which sent Ivana stumbled back with some welts forming on her cheekbones and jaw. Now Maria advanced firing away at the younger fighter’s head.
Ivana proved good at ducking the incoming and then popping up with shots into Maria’s chest and chin. Maria and Ivana were hunched up as they circled each other looking for openings.
Then Ivana ducked under a Maria right and scored her best uppercut of the round to Maria’s chin. Maria’s head was whipped back and she stutter-stepped backwards.
Ivana quick to go after Maria unguarded stomach with a flurry of punches.
However Maria able to fall back, regroup andcome back in. She bounced some good shots off Ivana’s eyebrows and forehead,but Ivana hooked hard to the belly and it brought the Valverde offensive to shalt.
Ivana tried to attack, but Maria solid with the protective jab. Ivanawins a close round that leaves Maria looking frustrated especially when Ivana blows a mocking kiss in her direction
R2:Maria seems to be keeping her cool and again uses her jab to cool down Ivana’s early charge as the second round gets started.
Ivana’s face getting carved up by Maria’s punching and the younger woman falls back with an irritated look on her face.
Maria moves to the attack and shows some nice footwork in cutting off the ring. Ivana not liking this just charges right in and drives hard punches into Maria’s body.
Maria fighting back and slowly but surely she forces Ivana back with repeated shot to the face and to the sides of the head.
Ivana not wanting to back down just keeps fighting and she does make the round close, but it still goes in Maria’s column.
Now it is Maria’s turn to smirk as aswollen-faced Ivana turns away with a defiant glare as they head for theircorners.
R3: Maria looking relaxed as she goes on the attack first, rattling Ivana with some quick shots to the chin and then some vengeful straight shots into Ivana’s bra cups.
Ivana not liking this one bit, but trying to get close enough to strike back atMaria is causing to eat more and more leather.
Now dripping blood from a splitlower lip, Ivana trying to get some breathing space, but has all she can do toavoid being trapped on the ropes by the nimble Maria.
Ivana looking flustered as Maria gives heranother smirking grin of superiority. Younger woman stomping to her corner.
R4:Ivana charges in again at the opening bell, but she’s able to duck under Maria’s counters and bring her rising hooks into Maria’s jaw.
Maria caught hard and stumbles back. Ivana swarming in with a torrent of punches that seem to belanding everywhere on Maria’s body.
Maria looks swamped but finally gets somejabs into Ivana’s face to disrupt the attack.
Maria also able to use footworkto make herself a harder target, but Ivana staying on her, keeping up thepressure and she’s got Maria panting hard at the bell.
That familiar smirk is back on Ivana’s face as she knows she won this round wide.
R5: Maria cautious as round begins. No surprise when she sees Ivana headed her way with mayhem on her mind.
Maria braced and has the jab up. Ivana smashes into the jab and does get some good hard hooks into Maria’s belly, but Maria again making Ivana pay with hard jabs to the face mixed with some breast shots that make Ivana gasp.
Ivana pulls back and resorts to circling while looking for angles.Tactical shift catching Maria off guard and Ivana gets some nice leather into Maria’s jaw.
Maria taking the shocks to the jaw, but countering well and Ivana gets fewer and fewer chances. Maria wins round, though it was far from a sweep.
R6: Ivana resumes her circling attack and Maria is moving along with it. Two exchange long range probes, but then Ivana makes a quick move to the right to draw Marias attention and then swarms in with a crushing right to the jaw.
Maria walloped hard, she staggers away drunkenly and then turns around as Ivana is bringing a right uppercut from down around her ankles. Beautiful shot catches Maria on the point of the chin and lifts her off her feet! Maria crashes onto her shoulders and head followed by the rest of her body.
She lies therestretched out and groaning as her head moves uselessly from side to side.
Ivana trots to the neutral corner as referee moves in. Maria somehow able to roll to her side and push herself up on one arm, but that’s all.
She hears the count reach “TEN!” and hangs her head in defeat while Ivana is literally jumping forjoy.

After:
Ivana thrilled at winning, but she can feel the pain and swelling that Maria’s face punching has done.
She can’t wait to get across the ring and haul Maria to her feet. She gives the foggy-eyed Maria a slap across the face.
That brings Maria around very quickly “Good! I wanted you awake when I show everyone I am the best Spanish fighter in the flyweight Division!”
Maria rubsher cheek: “I regret to admit that you are. Now do what you have to do. You talk entirely too much Ivana Baquero.”
"And so doyou,” Ivana says and reaches down to grab the back on Maria’s dark blue bikini bottoms and give her a wedgie makes her yelp.
Ivana shows off Maria Valverde like a victory trophy as they march around the ring. Ivana throws in a slap or two on Maria’s bottoms and some tugs on the bikini bottoms—just to keep Maria yelping indignantly.
"I will make you pay for this,” Maria promises Ivana once they have finished.“Any time,any place,” Ivana says. “And I will still beat you.”
Maria glares at Ivana who then turns and walks away with a confident strut. Meanwhile JunoTemple has climbed into the ring to comfort Maria, who looks grateful for the support.
Maria Valverde did show a lot of boxing skills, but she was finally overwhelmed with Ivana Baquero’s brawling pressure tactics.
Ivana won, but her badly bruised face suggests those tactics might not always work.
No word on Foxfire Atlantic’s future plans for its new guest boxer, but she does seem to have earned at least another shot under the FAB banner.
