BEFORE:

"You know," says Katharine with a shake of the head, "Some people have asked me this week about how it feels to be making my Asylum debut. It seems like people have forgotten that I was here once before. I fought Katy Perry and took her the distance. And, Katy Perry is a top lightweight, not an above average one, like Serinda Swan. So, guess how this is going to go?"

"McPhee's right," says Swan with a nod. "I AM above average. So far above average that you can't SEE average from there. And, you sure as hell can't see Katharine McPhee from there, either."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Touch Me', and that means the singer of that little ditty, Katharine McPhee of CBS' 'Scorpion', is on her way to the ring."

McCarthy: "I'm going to say the same thing I said the last time McPhee was here. This is typical Weirdo booking. A girl with a handful of FCBA fights and ONE win. It's a tragedy of justice!"

O'Dell: "McPhee down the aisle and into the ring. Helped off with the robe to reveal a green and white striped number and a body that shows how hard she's been working out for this one. And, that's 'Foxey Lady' by Jimi Hendrix pounding through the arena, and that means 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan, is coming down the aisle..."

Cassie: "And, we're talking about this a lot tonight, but, clearly management at Front Street thinks plenty of Swan as she survived the shake up that thinned the lightweight division from seven to four."

Tess: "As Wiz has pointed out several times, Swan has won as many big fights as anyone in the stable. Her list of victims is pretty impressive. Vandervoort, Lively, Decker, Swanepoel, Rowland, Glau, Valance, Wagner, Rohrbach, Refa'eli, and, let's not forget Lima."

McCarthy: "She's HALF the fighter Palicki is, IF that."

O'Dell: "Swan into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that red number we've seen before and the crowd, as usual, VERY appreciative. Ladies about ready, so it's time for some picks. Tess likes Serinda. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Even SWAN can beat this tomato can. And, I'm almost HAPPY she's still on Weirdo's roster, because that insufferable DECKER is gone!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Just like the last bout, we have two tall, rangy fighters and they're setting up at long range early, looking to get those jabs established. Swan double-tapping hers at the moment, looking to create openings for her right hand. McPhee moving the feet, turning with..."

Tess: "Both of these girls are very athletic. Katharine moves extremely well, and you're seeing that now."

O'Dell: "Swan double tapping that left, dropping in a right and MCPHEE STAGGERS HER WITH A RIGHT-HAND COUNTER! That was a NASTY punch from Katharine and Swan's in trouble. McPhee going all in immediately, looking to pull a big upset in just about the most shocking fashion possible!"

McCarthy: "You know, Swan's already been upset twice by that tomato can Bundchen. Maybe Weirdo SHOULD have kept Decker..."

Cassie: "Make up your mind, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Shut it, twerp!"

O'Dell: "Swan giving ground, moving enough to stay off the ropes. McPhee letting the hands go, landing some solid leather right now. She shook Serinda again with that right hand! Referee looking in. Swan now against the cables in the tight earmuff. Clock ticking away, though. And, while McPhee's going to thump Serinda right to the bell, Swan's going to end the round on her feet. There's the bell. Katharine wide."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with McPhee coming forward. She's walking in behind the jab, backing up Swan. Serinda not trying to hold her canvas, willing to cede it, inch by inch, to her rival. Katharine a good combination there and SHE'S HURT! Swan with a right-hand counter of her own and McPhee's wobbled!"

Cassie: "Put that through a keyhole and right on target!"

O'Dell: "And, now it's McPhee in trouble, giving ground, on the defensive, taking heavy fire from all angles. Swan one of the better finishers not just at Front Street, but in the FCBA. Very calm. Very surgical. Setting up her punches, but sitting down on all of them as McPhee's long, sturdy legs get quite the test..."

McCarthy: "McPhee needs to get the left hand going here. Slow this girl down some."

O'Dell: "Katharine IS trying to counter in spots, but, that's about all she can do. Heavy pressure from Swan preempting anything else. Serinda another solid flurry. Sends a wobbly McPhee against the ropes. Swan looking for the 'off' switch, but going to run out of time. One more good right from Serinda, and there's the bell. Swan wide in the second."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Swan back to work in the third. She's walking McPhee down, banging away at her with heavy shot. Katharine still missing some leg, but she's at least able to fight in retreat. She's working the jab to slow Swan down and looking to counter with hard right hands. Serinda, though, not being bothered over much."

Tess: "Swan definitely on a roll, and, we've seen this before. She goes into machine mode and it's bad news for her opponent."

O'Dell: "And, it looks like she's there now. Not just a machine, but the proverbial well-oiled version. She's buffeting McPhee around the ring, grabbing all the canvas she wants, making her rival take heavy leather to both head and body. Serinda just in total command right now."

McCarthy: "McPhee needs to get the feet set and clock her one to slow this down. Otherwise, Swan's just going to keep bullying her around."

O'Dell: "You may be right, Mac, but Katharine can't seem to get that done at the moment. Twenty seconds to go in the third. Swan another good combination, forces her rival to cover up. McPhee circling to stay off the ropes. Swan a good right hand and there's the bell. Serinda wide."

Cassie: "And, Swan's up 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Swan coming forward again and now being STOPPED COLD! A good, solid flurry from Kat causes Serinda to cover up. McPhee following up, backing the Front Streeter up a step with that flurry. There's that setting the feet and landing a good one, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Exactly! If these tomato cans just listed to Mac The Knife, maybe they'd be cans of corn instead."

Tess: "What does that even MEAN?"

Cassie: "Not a clue, BFF. Not a clue."

O'Dell: "Now, it's Katharine getting on a roll, as she's got Swan on the defensive. Serinda not hurt, but McPhee's getting punches put together here and she's grabbed the initiative from Swan, no question about that. Front Streeter back on her heels all of a sudden, and this is good stuff from McPhee."

Cassie: "Uncle Wiz has always said that Katharine's a girl with plenty of physical talent, and you're seeing that right now."

O'Dell: "Final thirty seconds of the fourth round and McPhee banging away at a retreating Swan. Serinda now solidifying her front a bit, firing back, and we're getting some hot and heavy exchanges in the final seconds. Sweat flying as some BIG punches land right to the bell. Good finish for Swan, but the round is McPhee's, wide."

Tess: "And, we're even at 38 after four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with a fire-fight! Swan and McPhee toe to toe letting the hands go! Both fighters want to take command of this thing, and neither is going to let the other do so without a fight! BIG right hand from McPhee backs Swan up a step and SERINDA ROCKS KATHARINE WITH A RIGHT OF HER OWN!"

Cassie: "What a shot! Not sure how McPhee's still on her feet!"

O'Dell: "Couldn't tell you, but Swan all in to try to remedy that! She's winging bombs at Kat, driving her back into the ropes and giving her a thorough thrashing. McPhee just hanging on here, and there's all kinds of time left in this round. Swan now going body, thumping away downstairs to try to bring the guard down..."

McCarthy: "STUPID! She has this kid on the ropes. Finish her now. Don't play around! What's that corner doing over there besides taking up space?"

O'Dell: "Swan banging away upstairs, then back down. McPhee jabbing back in spots, doing just enough to keep the referee from stepping in, though he's looking plenty closely. Thirty seconds left. Swan a BIG right hand and McPhee wobbles again. Ref not going to look at much more of this. Kat ties Swan up. Serinda stacks her against the ropes and thumps the ribs to the bell. Swan wide."

Tess: "And, she's up 48-47, but she let Katharine off the hook..."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Swan out quickly and she's after McPhee. Katharine in full retreat as Serinda's aggressively forward behind that heavy 'Front Street jab'. Swan using that left to stop and hold her rival and set her up for big right hands. Katharine can't hold canvas, can only jab back in spots as Serinda takes control..."

McCarthy: "Got to play for time here, that's all."

O'Dell: "And, that's what Kat appears to be doing. She's playing defense, keeping the guard up, trying to get the legs back under her. Swan not giving her much room to breathe, banging away with both hands and DROPPING MCPHEE WITH AN OVERHAND RIGHT TO THE CHIN!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiigggggghhhhhhtttttssss. The party's oooooovveerrrrrrr...."

O'Dell: "McPhee blown right to her back, arms out, motionless. Swan to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Katharine still not moving at all. Six. Seven. Eight. This is academic. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan!"

McCarthy: "Only if the game is quidditch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Serinda Swan, and, Swanny, good fight tonight..."

Serinda (nodding): "We knew coming in that she was sturdy and strong and athletic. But, guess who ELSE is sturdy and strong and athletic? You aren't going to beat me at that game, and she didn't."

Tess: "Used to be there was quite a lot of competition for you in the Front Street lightweight division. That's eased some with the reorganization..."

Serinda: "Well, there are still plenty of top lightweights here. But, that's never bothered me, because I'm as good as any of them, as I prove every time I get into the ring."
