Intro:
The main event tonight sees Melanie Chisholm fight her toughest opponent tonight in Hollywood star Michelle Rodriguez here tonight in Manchester's legendary theatre of dreams Old Trafford.
Melanie is 43 years old now, she stands at 5'6 and holds a perfect record of 3 wins, 3 knockouts and 0 defeats in her career.
Michelle is 38 years old, turning 39 next Wednesday, she stands at 5'5, holds a record of 10 wins, 9 by knockout and 9 defeats to her name, she's a former FCBA bantamweight champion, that was in 2003 though.

The build up to the fight saw both girls meet at a press event, both girls going chest to chest, both are proud women and stare each other down.
Organisers separate the girls, sending them to opposite sides of the stage, a podium with a microphone is at the front of the stage, Melanie is asked to speak first.
Stepping up to the podium, she smiles to the crowd before saying "it's great to be standing here and knowing I am going to be fighting one of the toughest women in the world" nodding towards Michelle as it's the first hint of respect between them.
She continues with "but I have won many tough fights in my life, I remind undefeated in that ring for a reason and maybe beating Michelle gets me a quick way into BBU title contention" grinning wider as she thinks how cool that would be, before an organiser knocks her out her day dream to step aside for Michelle.
The Latin superstar standing tall with a serious look on her face, she starts by saying "I've fought around the world, but I have never fought in Britain and in a BBU fight, I fix that tomorrow and I can't wait to experience something new"
Starting off soft before getting to the meat of her speech "I have heard of Melanie's toughness, it was part of why I took this fight, see I love to dismantle girls who think they are tough and remind them that I'm the toughest fighter in the world"
Turning to Melanie, she finished by saying "you can bring the rest of the Spice gang but I am coming to take your head off and put your name on the list of girls I've proven wrong, just after Julia Stiles"
Melanie scowls at Michelle, more upset because she showed her respect, now she knows where they stand, she happily squares up to Michelle and goes head to head with her.
Their eyes are willing the other to make a move so they have an excuse to fight, hands go on hips as they bump bodies and just before it kicks off, security dives in to separate the girls, who just silently glare at each other as they are led off stage.

Fight night, out comes Melanie first with Micaela Schaefer as her coach, Melanie bouncing on her toes as the always fit singer looks as impressive as ever as she wears a red bikini with matching coloured gloves, her long brunette hair is tied up into a ponytail.
Heading to the ring with a smile on her face, she nods to her fans as they cheer her on her way, she doesn't look overawed by being in somewhere where the scouse lass isn't exactly normally going to get cheered.
As she steps into the ring, some boos do start to be heard as Melanie laughs and nods to the crowd, before jogging to her corner, getting serious as she warms up ready to fight.
Now out comes Michelle, she has her coach behind her as she shows some impressive hand speed at the top of the ramp, she's wearing a black bikini showing off her own impressive body, black gloves on her hands and her own hair up in a ponytail.
Marching to the ring, Michelle bangs her gloves together as she is in the mood to beat up someone and Melanie just happens to be on the menu.

Climbing into the ring, she gets a mixed response too, the crowd seem surprisingly split, both are fan favourites in their own right and from a fighting stand point, this is hard to gauge who'll win as Michelle jogs to her corner to finish her warm up.
Both are brought to the ring centre, their eyes locked in a death stare as these are two intense women, the crowd even seem to hush down as they look over the sight of these two strong bulls face to face.
Asked to touch gloves, there is a quick swipe of gloves as they jog back to their corners, the referee sees both are ready and signals for the bell to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding" out come the girls up on their toes, circling each other as they trade single punches at the others head, showing tight guards early on.
Michelle though shows her aggressive side of her personality, coming forwards with a jab to measure up the distance, she tries to stalk Melanie down.
But Melanie shows her impressive footwork, slipping out the way of a right hook towards her body and snaps a double jab to the top of her head.
Melanie showing discipline not to get into a fire fight with Michelle yet, clearly she has been studying tape of Rodriguez.
The Latin fighter parries a right from Melanie and finally gets inside like she wants to, banging away to the body of Chisholm, who is happy to stand and trade.
The crowd already standing as they watch these two slug it out, showing each other the power they have, both groaning as they trade wild shots, not all hit but the ones that do are hurting both girls.
They step back from each other to reevaluate their tactics, Melanie takes advantage by sidestepping a straight from Michelle and lands two right hands to the cheeks of the Texan just before the bell rings on a bust first round.
Michelle surprises Melanie by smiling, almost wordlessly saying "this is going to be fun" Melanie just jogs back to her corner, keeping this professional as she jogs back to her corner and Michelle just stares at her, before heading to her own corner.
Round 2:
Out towards each other come the fighters, Melanie trying to move on her toes, showing her footwork is what she clearly believes is going to give her a chance to win.
Michelle though is trying to stick on her, stalking her opponent as she keeps her guard tight, taking several punches to her forearms.
Then she times her attack, parrying a right and stepping in tight to land a right hook, Melanie trying to step back to create some space.
But instead she is on the defensive as Michelle keeps in tight to her, digging away to her body, pressing her towards the ropes, keeping Chisholm on the ropes with several punches.
Melanie fighting back, leading to another hard exchange of punches between the two, the Spice Girl star can't get the power she wants with being stuck on the ropes and is getting beaten on the ropes.
She clinches up, forcing the referee to step in and pry them apart, Melanie quick to get off the ropes into space, Michelle wanting to get at her, but the referee holds her back and tells her to cool down, before he let's the girls continue.
Melanie looking more focused as she sticks and moves, both girls getting in some good shots, but it's Chisholm who finishes the round stronger as she slips past a right and lands three punches, two to the body and a right cross.
The bell ringing with both girls standing trading punches, they stop and both give each other a hard stare, Michelle tapping her chest and waving Mel to keep going.
The referee stepping in between, the girls nodding to each other before they head to their corners, both getting cleaned up and starting to show pink hues on their face and body.
Round 3:
Melanie moving around Michelle early, digging away at her guard with long range punches, her eyes keenly watch for movement from Michelle, trying to time her attacks to counter her.
Michelle goes for a left hook, Melanie moving back and landing a left to the ribs and a right over the top that cracks Rodriguez to the temple.
The actress takes a step back and soon enough she takes two straight punches to her nose, starting to back up as Melanie comes on the front foot.
A right hook connects and Michelle covers up as she is pressed into a corner, Melanie looking to end the fight as she lands to the body.
Michelle though fights back up the centre, banging a straight to the lips of Melanie and a left cross gets her out the corner.
But as she tries to step forwards, Melanie leans out the way of a right hook and lands a left cross, pushing Michelle back again.
Mel outboxing Michelle, who is stuck behind her guard and getting frustrated that she is having no success.
A feint left from Melanie opens up Michelle to a right cross and two jabs land onto her nose, Michelle's nose has a small cut on it as she shakes her head and shouts at her opponent "bring it! Come on bytch!"
Melanie giving her what she wants by throwing two hooks at her that Michelle ducks out the way of and the girls almost clash heads as they move in close.
The round ends with both fighters digging away to the body, nudging each other back before the referee has to get involved.
Michelle sitting down and getting her nose cleaned up, not believing she's having so much trouble with Chisholm, she expected to be the one hammering her, not the other way around.
Melanie smiling as she nods to Micaela, both Tech girls chatting about the fight as Schaefer does her job as well, cleaning her face up of sweat.
Round 4:
Melanie begins strongly again, digging away at the head of Michelle, but Rodriguez is moving her head finally, after advice from her coach.
The singer steps in to land a right hook but misses over the top and Michelle lands an uppercut that puts Melanie down to her backside!
The crowd is stunned as they stand up and look at the sight of Melanie shaking her head while sitting on the canvas, the referee beginning his count.
At 7 Melanie pushes herself up to beat the count, raising her gloves up to show she's OK, the referee nodding as Michelle looks keen to get at her.
Michelle closing in on Melanie, who boxes behind her guard, trying to keep Rodriguez off of her, but the Texan keeps in tight.
Keeping Melanie on the back foot, Michelle looks in her element, gritting her gumshield as she digs away to the ribs of the singer, moving her head out the way of counter attempts.
Melanie finds herself pushed onto the ropes, Michelle using her left to keep her pinned behind her guard, ripping in several body shots with her right, till Chisholm pushes forwards to clinch up.
The girls grappling on the ropes as they are grunting with effort to push each other around to show they are stronger.
The referee pulling the girls apart, Melanie moving off the ropes again as she knows that's the last place she needs to be.
Both girls trading single punches as Michelle hunts down Melanie, the older fighter on the back foot as the round is coming to an end.
A right to the ribs of Melanie cause her to groan loudly as Michelle looks to try to finish this, but the bell rings before she can hurt Melanie.
Instead she heads back to her corner with a nod to her coach, she looks much more relaxed after struggling in the early part of the fight.
Mel shaking her head and looking at the sky, Micaela telling her to keep calm, taking a deep breath to calm down, she smiles to her stablemate to show she feels better.
Round 5:
Michelle stalks Melanie around the ring, the younger fighter starts to use her jab to herd her opponent around the ring.
She slams a right to the body and a left hook up top to turn Melanie's head around, before she builds off it to push Melanie onto the ropes.
But before she can pin her to the ropes, Melanie snaps a jab to the nose of Michelle to escape off the ropes, then throws a left hook that Michelle leans out the way of.
Both girls move in close to trade, again nearly banging heads together as Michelle moves inside, the girls dig away to the body, feeling some air escape from the others bodies.
Mel surprises her opponent though by stepping back and landing two cross punches across the face of Michelle, knocking her onto the back foot and begins to push her back.
This time it's Michelle who needs to create space, using her left hand to push Melanie back, before they square up and trade again.
A right from Michelle just misses by inches the face of Mel, opening her up to an uppercut from Chisholm, that stuns Michelle and allows Melanie to drive forwards.
Michelle being pushed back around the ring under a flurry of punches, she barely protects herself from most of them, but she does take some through her guard.
Her nose is bleeding more as the cut opens up, the bell ringing to end the round, Michelle looks pissed off as she heads back to her corner.
She's sick of being controlled by Melanie, that legendary temper of hers is boiling over as she is arguing loudly with her coach, the coach patching her up as this is going on doesn't look like he can be bothered with this as he argues back.
Melanie and Micaela look stunned, till Schaefer remembers her job tonight and goes to work on Chisholm to get her ready for the next round.
Round 6:
This time it's Melanie trying to build off the end of the last round, moving in with two straight punches and back out before Michelle can counter with a left.
Michelle though is still fiery and quickly steps forward, plugging the gap between them with a jab and digs a right to the body.
Melanie gasping and her body starting to redden up from all the attention it has received in the fight, she is able to land a right up top to slow down Michelle's assault.
Both fighters starting to get in good positions, Melanie dancing around Michelle with good straight punches to each cheek of the Texan.
Who then catches Mel with a left cross and as she is in front of Michelle, the Latin fighter pumps her fists straight into the lips of Melanie.
Blood starting to run from her bottom lip as Michelle looks to knock her back, but again Melanie leans out the way of a lunging right and snaps two jabs to the right eye of her opponent.
Now to add to Michelle's troubles her eye is starting to swell up, she's grimacing as her face takes several jabs of straight punched and again she's forced to tighten her guard.
This is a very professional performance from Melanie as Michelle just can't get any momentum, the crowd smelling an upset as Michelle grunts and looks ready to scream her frustration out.
She slips under a jab to land a left hook to the body of Melanie, looking like that hurt a lot as Michelle finally gets some real traction in this round.
Head under the chin of Mel as she beats her to both sides of the body, Melanie tries to clinch up, with Rodriguez looking like she's trying to push her through the ropes.
Again the referee is needed in this busy fight, for girls coming out their primes you could argue, they are giving their all tonight and at the bell, while they are both bloody, bruised and soaked in sweat, neither looks ready to admit defeat.
Going nose to nose, both look ready to rip their gloves off and settle this bare fisted as they exchange a few threats, the referee needs to push them apart, with both staring angrily, wishing the other would give up.
Sitting on their stools, the girls are breathing hard, sucking as much air into their bodies as they get cleaned up and patched up to head into the later rounds.
Round 7:
Michelle coming out with some real venom on her punches, working harder to try and get Melanie pinned onto ropes or into a corner.
But Mel continues to beat Michelle to the punch, digging her punches over the guard of Rodriguez and then moving out the way of her punches.
Till Michelle feints a left, watches Melanie try to sidestep to the left and bangs in a right hook that knocks her head to the side.
That's the opening Michelle wanted as she powers Mel onto the ropes, the crowd are up to see if this is the end as Melanie is stuck behind her guard, Michelle throwing flurries of punches at that guard to break it open.
Once it is open, both girls let their hands go in a stand up battle, both women just pounding each other, their faces are going to be sore for a week as they go in hard.
Melanie though is able to pull Michelle into her to clinch up, both battle worn fighters seem to rest on each other for a moment as the cameras pick up blood running from a cut under the right eye of Michelle to go with her nose.
While Melanie has a bloody nose now to go with her lip, the referee gives them a moment to work out of this, once he sees they won't, he pulls them apart and orders them to fight.
Michelle trying to get back in close, maybe getting too desperate as Melanie catches her coming in with a right cross, then she steps in as they square up again.
Melanie getting the better of the slugfest as that cut under the eye of Michelle is really hurting her each time it gets hit.
Now it's Michelle being backed up with seconds to go in the round, at the bell; both fighters want to keep going to finish this, the referee stepping between them as they are about to swing and orders them back to their corners.
Once Michelle sits down, the ringside doctor is up on the apron and watching to see if that cut is treated right, if he thinks it's too bad, he'll end the fight.
In the other corner, Melanie can't believe this fight is still going, she turns to Micaela and asks "how the f*** do you stop her?" Which gets the simple answer "just beat her ass down to the ground" Mel wishes it was that simple.
Round 8:
This is gut check time for both, they're both hurting and tired as the homestretch comes into view, the girls circle and trade single punches to start the round.
Michelle looking to step in, misses with a right as Melanie steps back in time, Mel digging two jabs to the nose in counter to cause Michelle to be yelping in pain.
Melanie pressing Michelle back around the ring, Rodriguez covering up and retreating as she can't get out from behind her guard, till she is near the ropes, where Michelle sidesteps away from the ropes.
Michelle comes back at Melanie, now she starts pressing the singer backwards, the girls going back and forth as neither seem able to get control of the other.
A mistake by Michelle though opens her up, Melanie landing a left cross that backs up the Hollywood star, more blood runs down from that cut under her eye as Michelle covers up on the ropes.
Melanie pounding her on the ropes, digging away to the body, forcing gasps from Michelle, who is firing back with single punches, showing she still has fight in her.
With seconds left in the round, Michelle makes an effort to get off the ropes, sweeping hooks miss but back Melanie back towards the ring centre.
Melanie parries a right and snaps a straight to that cut nose again, a left connects just before the bell to the right eye.
As Michelle heads slowly back to the corner, her right is nearly swollen shut to make her look worse, she leans in her corner onto the turnbuckles as her coach tries to patch her up, the doctor watching closely again, Michelle can be heard telling him "you better not stop this or we are going to have words"
Round 9:
Both girls do head out, but it's clear that Michelle is in trouble, that problem with her right eye is making her miss as Melanie dances around her.
There isn't much spring in Melanie's legs, but when your opponent can't see much out of their eye, it makes it easier to move around them.
Her jab keeps digging into that right eye, making it look even worse, Michelle covering it up tight as she backs up.
Melanie though steps in and lands a right hook that turns Michelle's legs to jelly, a follow up right hook puts Michelle down to her side.
Heading to a neutral corner with her hands raised and the crowd all up cheering her on, Melanie thinks she's won this.
But at 4 Michelle is stirring, Melanie can't believe it as she watches Michelle use the ropes to pull herself up to beat the count at 9.
Somehow she is allowed to continue as she raises her gloves and waves Mel to bring it, her fighting spirit won't let her give up.
But as Melanie comes in, she hasn't the ability to do much as she misses with a wild right and takes a precise right to her face that rocks her onto the ropes.
Melanie pounds her on the ropes till the referee has seen enough, he pulls Mel back and hugs Michelle, waving to the time keeper it's over behind her back.

Winner: Melanie Chisholm TKO Round 9

After:
What a war! Melanie is quick to go over and check on Michelle, the beaten fighter nods to Melanie as she tells her "great fight"
Melanie hugs her as Michelle pats her back, it's all the energy she has as both have massive respect for each other.
Both fighters coaches come to help them back to their coaches as they haven't the energy to get back on their own.
The doctor helping Michelle's coach to clean her up as she looks a real mess, she still has a small smile as she enjoyed that.
Melanie tells Micaela "I can't believe she took so much punishment, I kept beating her and she'd keep coming back at me"
Micaela answering "you won, that's the main thing, you beat her and reminded people why you're unbeaten" Melanie nodding and smiling as she gets cleaned up.
Both girls are led to the ring centre with their coaches help for the final announcement, the crowd cheer as Melanie gets her hand raised, even those who booed her at the start of the night show their respect by clapping for her.
Michelle nods and leaves the ring with help from her coach, she waves to the fans as she leaves, maybe the only time British fans get to see of her in a BBU ring.
While in the ring Melanie does a lap of honour, waving to the fans as she goes and shouting "thank you guys!" As she goes, a big smile adorning her face as she knows how big a win this is.
Maybe it drives her to take up boxing more often as there are plenty of girls in their late 30's and early 40's she can fight, hopefully this isn't the last we see of her either as she leaves the ring to a loud roar from the crowd chanting her name.
