CBAD Punchaholics Anonymous vs Once Upon A Time

For reasons left unexplained, Punchaholics Anonymous leadership declared the TV series Once Upon a Time to be its current top rival, according to incomplete leaked documents. The stable was only able to round up two volunteers to actually enact the destruction of OUaT, as Christina Hendricks, Nicki Minaj, and Robyn Lawley were already occupied. ("I found an unrelated opponent that afternoon," commented Christina Hendricks later.) However, Anna Popplewell and Amy Acker volunteered, and after some negotiation, faced off against Emilie De Ravin and Jennifer Morrison respectively.

"I've been taking time off from boxing to focus on my wrestling rivalry with Joanna Garcia Swisher," Emilie De Ravin explains. "Honestly, if I slacked off, she'd be out of control. They'd have had to rename Once Upon a Time to The Ariel Show. Lucky for the fans that I've got better core strength." De Ravin transitioned to the main subject. "But when I heard that Punchaholics Anonymous was going after all of us I volunteered to defend the show's honor right away!" Anna Popplewell saw it differently. "I was itching for a fight and not getting one, and management handed me all of the papers with the Ts crossed and the Is dotted. I didn't really care who she was, but I looked her up and I was glad to find that she knows what she's doing."

Pre-fight: Popplewell, in maroon trunks and sports bra, touched gloves with De Ravin, wearing light blue. Popplewell, boisterous and bouncy, faced the audience, punched the air, and blew kisses. De Ravin gave a single eye roll.

Round 1:
Both women attacked energetically in the first round, battling it out in the center of the ring. De Ravin broke past Popplewell's defenses with persistence, and only a quick reaction from the brunette turned De Ravin's powerful blow into a glancing strike to the chin. Popplewell's counterattack failed to punish the blonde actress, but managed to end her momentum for the moment. In the following minutes, Popplewell enjoyed periods of outboxing De Ravin, jabbing and using her cross to punish failed attacks.

Round 2:
De Ravin struck back in the second round, and while Popplewell could harass, slow, and punish her, she could not stop the determined blonde. When De Ravin landed a left hook to the brunette's jaw, Popplewell was forced into a fighting retreat, avoiding a potentially catastrophic follow up but forced to endure further strikes. Popplewell extracted some payback from De Ravin by way of blows to the ribs and nose, but spent most of the round in a state of reaction over action.

Round 3:
When De Ravin went on the attack, Popplewell was ready. After a short skirmish, the brunette slipped past her rival's punch and struck her on the mouth with a strong left. De Ravin was forced to backpedal, with Popplewell in hot pursuit. De Ravin rallied and held firm for a few moments before Popplewell caught her squarely on the jaw with a straight right. Towards the end of the round, Popplewell struck De Ravin soundly on the side of the head, and managed two quick follow ups, knocking the blonde actress' head back and forth, but De Ravin stubbornly remained upright.

Round 4:
Popplewell kept De Ravin at a distance in the fourth round, and De Ravin didn't push her luck. While the blonde needed a victory badly after the pounding she took in the previous round, Popplewell's counterattacks were enough of a threat to keep her cautious. As a result, De Ravin avoided a loss, but was unable to apply enough pressure to Popplewell to score a win herself.

Round 5:
Once again, the two actresses took their shots at each other from a distance with care at the start of the round. After a minute of careful exchanges where Popplewell and De Ravin each kept the other at arms' length, De Ravin began to apply pressure. Pursuing Popplewell, she found the brunette surprisingly elusive, and when Popplewell struck back, she caught the blonde with a straight right to the chin. As De Ravin stopped in her tracks, stunned, Popplewell continued her attack in one motion, leaning in and striking the blonde with a rising left hook. De Ravin's gaze wandered off as she appeared to suddenly lose interest in the fight, and when Popplewell's fist struck the side of her head firmly, she stopped in place and slowly collapsed, face down. The brunette sprinted away, bouncing off of the ropes and punching the air with a big grin on her face, as De Ravin spent the count nearly pushing herself up to her hands and knees, her head hanging low.

Dazed but standing, De Ravin accepted an enthusiastic hug from the winner, before the official announcement -- KO5 Popplewell. Having her hand raised in victory causes a second round of uncontrollable bouncing from the now officially victorious brunette.

After both fighters made their separate exits, Popplewell made her statement. "It might not make the history books, but I'm very happy with my performance. I think I handled every aspect of the fight as well as anyone could have. And Emilie wasn't quite ready for that much of a challenge!"
