TESS VALMORE
LUCAS/FOX The first round went to Lucas. Fox won the second, but was hurt as the round drew to a close. Lucas went back into the lead by taking the third. The fourth round went to Fox, who had her opponent close to going at the end of the round. Lucas didn’t go out in the fourth, but she did in the fifth. After working Lucas’ midsection, a right uppercut sent Lucas down and out
RATAJKOWSKI/UNDERWOOD After a first round that was too close to call, Underwood won the next three rounds using a body attack that Ratajkowski had trouble handling In the fifth, Underwood floored Ratajkowski with a left cross, only to have Emily comeback and send Underwood down with a right uppercut. Both managed to survive the round. Underwood did not survive the sixth as Ratajkowski pounded Underwood to the canvas with a body attack. Underwood did not beat the count. This was a less than impressive result for Ratajkowski as not only did her opponent have a very poor record, she was also four inches shorter
REN/RUSSO This was a bout that featured the two opponents working on each others body. Ren won the first round with Russo coming back to win rounds two and three. Ren took the fourth by not only going to her opponents body, but mixing up punches to the head. In the fifth, Ren landed a left to Russo’s body and followed up with a right uppercut to the chin and Russo was toast. Ren wins by a KO
T. HILL/JAGACIAK I really didn’t see much of this fight as Mr Caspian did as he promised and had a ringside bar set up with a bartender and snacks. I can resist almost anything, but a good pizza or free drinks. I had a couple Dark and Stormies and jawed with Smackey who was sitting right behind me covering the fights for Boxing World. I managed to snag him a drink or two also. I was a happy camper until Smackey pointed out the fight was over. Then I realized not only did I miss the fight, but I didn’t even know who was who. Smackey told me that Hill decked Jagaciak in the second with Jagaciak flooring Taylor in the third. He said that Jagaciak won the next two rounds to have a big lead, but that Hill came close to winning the fight in the sixth, but couldn’t close it out. Hill did close the fight out in the seventh landing a couple punches deep into Jagaciak’s midsection that left Jagaciak down as the count passed ten
FERGUSON/ROHRBACH The main fight of the night and it was a good one. You had Ferguson, one of the best welters in the FCBA facing Rohrbach who is a super star. If you don’t believe it, just ask her. Ferguson took the first two rounds with Rohrbach coming back to even the fight at the end of four. The fifth round was another close one. I thought Ferguson won that round, but don’t know what the judges thought. Rohrbach won the sixth and sent Ferguson down with an uppercut. Unfortunately for Rohrbach, that punch landed after the bell had rung That was unfortunate for Rohrbach, because Ferguson came back to dominate the seventh and finally end to bout with a right uppercut to the jaw in the eighth. Ferguson surprised no one with an eight round KO
