TESS VALMORE
This month’s PPV was quite large. Although the results were pretty much as expected there were a couple of surprises. My prediction accuracy fell off a little as I went 19-8
Upton/Lawley. I still wonder how Lawley got this title fight. I know she is 8-1, but who has she beat?, a bunch of FCBA old hands and nobodies. She had the lead in the fight at the end of four, but you just knew the end was coming. It did, when Upton knocked her out cold. Lawley is really big. Other than that I don’t see anything there. I think she will be a big bust. No not that kind of bust, but like the one you get when to pop a balloon
Lima/Winstead I can’t believe this. Lima successfully defended her title for the fourth time with a convincing TKO win over Winstead. It’s the fifth straight Lima win that I have predicted wrongly. This is starting to p--s me off, but Lima is looking awfully good right now
VanCamp/Scodelario The challenger built up an big early lead which VanCamp started to cut down in the second half of the fight. The champ was still behind in the seventh when she KOed Scodelario to win her second defense of the title
Fox/S. Miller This was a vicious fight that the champ won. Fox however, made the fight seem secondary with her disgusting antics after the fight. She should at least be fined. In fact, I would like to see her barred. I may just lead the charge. This kind of behavior is uncalled for and cannot be tolerated.
Hillary Rhoda made a big step towards a title fight with a win over Karlie Kloss
Michell Ryan also threw her hat into the welter title fight picture with a KO win over Gemma Atkinson. I think is she is smart, she will let Rhoda entertain Upton and then go for the winner
For the second time in her career Strahovski lost her third fight in a row. For her opponent, Miranda Kerr it was her third straight win. It should move Kerr in the rankings and possibly towards a title fight
Putting Lawrence in the ring with Righetti was criminal. Lawrence had little to no chance of winning. Is the manager of the stable trying to ruin her the way she totally ruined Theron?
Kendall Jenner won again and now has a record that would justify a top ten ranking. Unfortunately the quality of her opponents may hold her back. She needs to step up in the food chain for opponents.
Claire Holt’s win over Minka Kelly was somewhat of a surprise. That and wins by Lopilato. Alyssa Lynch and Lily Collins should give Smackey something to think about when he does Boxing Worlds bantam rankings
Levy surprised me with her win over Olivia Holt. It should definitely move her up the Front Street flyweight bench. In fact, I would move her to the head of the bench ahead of the babied Stewart
Lilly’s loss to Bellisario was expected, but it is still dishearting to see her continued decline that started in 2012, making her chances of getting into the Hall Of Fame are now very remote
I saw Carrie Prejean get into the ring. The question is, why is this loser still in the stable. Sceej really only has two fighters. Maybe Miss Spears needs to talk to the Wiz about some of the fighters he has scouted and not signed. Time to rebuild the stable which was never large to begin with
There were other fights and fighters that I have not commented on. I know those fights are important to someone, mainly managers but in the overall scheme they had no impact on title chances or high rankings.
