Anna Popplewell vs Roxanne Pallett

BEFORE: Anna Popplewell remains one of the most mysterious elite prospects despite an extended career with the Punchaholics Anonymous. One can argue the stable name reflects her career status as nobody seems to have noticed the Londoner's impressive streak she's posted over the last four years. She's never competed in the BBU either and that removes her from free publicity available for someone like Roxanne Pallett, her tonight's opponent.

The former Emmerdale sexpot has jumped on the crossover ship a while ago and secured an impressive record during her American foray, she's everything that Samia Ghadie wasn't and that's despite posting worse numbers than the Coronation Street stalwart back in the old country. She's dismissed the highly-touted Jennette McCurdy last time around and vows to snap Popplewell's merry run tonight.

Anna Popplewell wears a red sports bra, black hotpants and red gloves. Long brown hair tied in a curly ponytail. Roxanne Pallett wears a navy blue bikini set and silver gloves. Long dark brown hair with bangs tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Anna's winning streak gives her plenty of confidence and she outworks the smaller opponent during a feisty opening exchange despite Roxy's equally aggressive start. Some heavy punches begin to stack up against Pallett's face but she refuses to back off which becomes questionable down the stretch as Popplewell shows no signs of slowing down as if she wanted to knock her opponent out inside the opening three minutes! Things change when a belting hook crashes into the older brunette's tummy and bends her forward; Roxy tries to lock a clinch but gets pounded on the ribcage instead and it's all Anna from there on; the Londoner just rains punches up the middle and reels Pallett into shutdown mode on the ropes come the bell. Roxanne is lucky she avoids a nasty facial injury as she gets whacked straight up and looks wobbly already as both hellcats head to their corners.

Round 2:
More nasty punches unravel Pallett's defense early in the second as she caves in behind a tight earmuff just hoping to survive the Popplewell blast. Anna acts like she's going through a gym session here but her accuracy drops as she lands more blows against Roxy's suspicious defense and gets clipped by a wild overhand just as the Cumbrian shows signs of life herself. Both girls engage in a wild scramble thereafter, it's almost like Roxy hits the panic button and just wades in with everything she's got; Anna gets caught out by this sudden burst of aggression and soaks up a couple of vicious hits however she finds her range just in time to control the older brunette in mid-distance during the final minute. Meanwhile Roxy scowls in her efforts to land some single punches and shows true courage while battling the odds, she doesn't have the reach to really bother the Londoner but avoids getting trapped in another shutdown misery.

Round 3:
Popplewell jumps into a trigger-happy assault once again but when she bounces off the top of Pallett's forehead suddenly the smaller brunette blasts a nasty response and pierces the solar plexus to send the Punchaholics girl into spasms. Another solid rally on the ribcage wobbles Anna on her heels and she gets beaten for a wild overhand that tears a patch over her left eye! Ugh! Roxy finds the power supply in a hectic close range tussles that reels Popplewell towards the ropes as she fails to navigate the leather rush. She drops butt-in-ropes when Pallett works around the wounded brow ridge before a cross hooking blast spins her against the turnbuckle! Uh-oh! Popplewell's liver area gets exposed here and Roxanne just NAILS her on the vulnerable spot that makes the younger brunette scream out in pain! Another quick hook then splits Anna's mitts and leaves her sagging against the ropes on the bell! Roxy yells out in delight and verbally insults the stricken foe while the audience roars in her support. What looked like a Popplewell landslide success suddenly takes a very competitive turn!

Round 4:
Anna wants to regain the momentum here but stumbles out of the gate in a futile effort to knock Roxy's head off with her initial charge. There's some proper UK animosity present now and while Pallett has been labelled a "poor man's Samia Ghadie" in certain areas she just lets it rip over the top to inflict a nasty gash around the previously wounded brow ridge. Popplewell just can't shake her off in close range and wobbles back to her heels again as the Cumbrian sexpot hauls in more punishing hooks from point-blank range. Anna shrieks out in pain and bends forward amid more spasms but it's all Roxy here! She pounds the hapless Londoner straight up the middle and DESTROYS her high guard in the proccess! Anna seeks a scrambling escape instead of locking a clinch and that proves to be a bad idea; she trips over her own feet and drops her mitts for good just as Roxanne SLAMS a left hook on the nose WHICH SENDS HER DOWN AGAINST THE ROPES!!! And poor Anna banged her head as she was going down to add further insult to injury! She ends up flat on her back with eyes closed and man that brow ridge looks bad! Roxy's eyes flare up but she quickly struts back to her corner not to give the fallen rival any extra time for recovery. But this will be quite a stretch anyway! Anna only sits up at six and stares at the opposite side of the ring with hollow eyes before dropping onto her back again. She's done here, folks! Epic KO4 Roxanne Pallett in come-from-behind fashion!!!

AFTER: That's a huge upset given Popplewell's won eleven of her past thirteen fights! Roxanne's crossover career has rendered her epic BBU struggles an afterthought but nobody expected her to beat the ballyhooed Londoner tonight! And she truly did it the hard way - the first couple of rounds were simply awful but kinda lured the Punchaholics lass into a false sense of security. When Roxy tore her brow ridge up, things changed dramatically and led to one of Pallett's best victories ever! She might not be following Cheryl Cole's path to FCBA flyweight elite but nobody will say the Jennette McCurdy scalp was a mere fluke. In fact she's just made Samia Ghadie so jealous - and irrelevant at the same point - that one must finally give some credit to these UK soap opera babes not named Michelle Keegan.
