Before: How did things get to this? Most informed sources say the fallout started during the Vampire Diaries/Pretty Little Punchers war when Nina lost her bout with Ashley Benson while Claire salvaged the win for Vampire Diaries by beating Shay Mitchell in overtime. Or maybe it was Claire’s next two fights, against the best infighter and outfighter in the bantam division, respectively; clearly a sign that her stable was putting the final polishes on a champion. In any case, matters came to a head at the October 2014 wedding of Candice Accola, in a screaming match that saw the two pulled apart before things escalated into violence.

In December, Nina beat Claire in their first head-to-head fight. Since then, Holt has undergone surgery on her foot, and spent the rest of this year recuperating. “I’m 100% now, Nina could barely handle me then. Imagine what’s going to happen to her now.”
Nina unimpressed: “Nothing’s changed. I’m going to prove that I’m better once and for all! I beat the girl who took Emily’s last title twice, she can’t help but face me!”

Blue, hot-pink and sheer black tri-colored bikini for Nina, black gloves, chin-length hair wet and slicked back. Claire in a white bikini with black trim on the inside, white gloves, hair in a Dutch-crown braid.

R1: Nina trying to launch lunging attacks, striding in either direction, then suddenly shearing in with power-leads. Claire calm in the pocket, guard up, just waiting on Dobrev, sorting her out with the jab, stacking her up at range, then stepping forward with thick rights to the ribcage, lefts to the waist. Nina bounding about, using the ring, but no question cool Claire’s more effective, spurning the rushes, systematically attacking the body. Smoldering glares all around at the bell, Holt obviously getting the better of it.

R2: Nina circling right, occasionally stomp-feinting at Claire, gauging the reactions. End of the first minute, she gets an over-reaction off a feint, bends in with a hesitation overhand right, pivots around a clapping hook on the ear, steps back. Holt stooped forward, hands at temples, think it’s over when Dobrev jumps in an unorthodox left uppercut from under her blonde’s right shoulder, putting wobble in those trunks, bouncing back outside, licking her lips and clowning--showboating allows Claire to get herself together. Nina loping around the ring, sticking her tongue out, bending at the waist to slip punches with hands at her knees. Judges give credit to Dobrev for shaking Holt, but she squandered a golden opportunity to pile on

R3: More thorough, more effective Nina this round as she circles, jumps in and out and starts to stack up potshot rights and lefts, blonde reactive, buttoned up, a little confused. Dobrev’s attacking from all angles, sweeping punches up off her thighs, bounding into Holt body-to-body, then pivoting off before the reciepts, keeping her off balance. Nina grinning, presenting her face then slipping and dodging the incoming, supple torso moves a pleasure to watch as she keeps it loose, every move a taunt to the more orthodox Claire.

R4: Claire cutting off the ring, jabbing and stepping over to engage. Holt thrusting a straight right up the middle, locating Dobrev, fixing her position, able to turn over hooks body and head to followup. Nina driven ropeside at several points, Claire crouching forward, opens up in spots to bat hooks to rib cage, threading thick right hands straight into the torso or behind the left elbow. Good bell to bell hound-and-pound from Holt, Dobrev wide-eyed and gasping for breath, frankly shocked to have been corralled and worked over that round.

R5: Nina trying to re-assert herself, but Claire's taking her options off the table. Once again, Holt cutting off the ring, negotiating Dobrev into the corners, then hooking her way in close, she’s able to fight off her former castmate's chest much of the round. Nina trying to shrug little uppercuts on the inside, but Claire doing ALL the heavy lifting. Strapping beat down applied to flanks and tummy, Holt brawny with her left shoulder, bulling Dobrev back to reset her for more work. Round ends to the sight of Nina virtually helpless against the ropes, being shoved and jostled, then ripped to the body as Claire gets her hips into it.

R6: Claire charging in with her mostly-legal shoulder-block, smashing contact to the face turns Nina around in a fog, blonde able to wrap up and leg-drive her foe face first to the ropes. Moment's scrambling for position, then Holt's squared away, getting up into Dobrev with a terrible bombardment. Nina windblown, looking like a flyweight as Claire muscles her into the ropes, then bashes away at will. Holt's head in close, hands belly height, rotating her shoulders as she clips and snatches away tummy, tits and chin, pouring three punch combos to Dobrev. Nina getting picked up uppercuts high, hooked about her midsection - she goes wobbly butt at the minute mark, starts to topple forward in a daze. Claire stepping back in good order, keeping it short and heavy, clipping chin with an uppercut and NINA GOES DOWN! Dobrev hauling herself up, wobbly-butt but shoving herself off the ropes.

Hard to watch, Nina all heart, wading to midring to meet Claire head on, but she's badly hurt - trade with Holt the LAST thing she should be seeking. Claire marching through Nina's pushing blows and HAMMERING the brunette in response - gorgeous body shots, clubbing wallops up top that are swiveling Dobrev's head and unhinging her knees. Nina driven straight back into the ropes and Claire piles on stronger and harder than before. Holt disciplined, bending her knees to get all up in there, keeping the right hand at her cheek as she hooks, left hand at her cheek when she bends into smashing rights. Dobrev shipping bombs, eyes glassing over as skull gets bounced STOP THE FIGHT, REF. STOP THE FIGHT! Sickening action late - Nina helpless, not answering back, but stupidly refusing to take a knee - ref has no choice but save the girl from herself. Welcome back Claire Holt as she racks up a TKO6 in Beatdown of the Year fashion!

After: Nina brought CRASHING down to Earth in a defeat not even the most fervent of Holt partisans predicted! Claire putting the kibosh on claims she’s on the outs with a crushing victory that vaults her right back into the bantam elite!
