JENNIFER LAWRENCE VS MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Jennifer: 26 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m), 24-11-1 (1 KO) since 2011, Ginny’s Academy
Mary: 32 YO, 5’8 (1.73), 38-36-0 (32 KO) since 2007, Foxfire Boxing

Before: “I have been looking forward to fighting Jen for some time,” Mary Winstead tells the pre-fight press conference. “That there is a title fight shot for the winner is just a bonus for me. Jen beat me in 2012 and I have wanted to get her back in the ring ever since. It’s a shame it has taken 5 years to pull off, but finally we are here. I can’t wait to even things up.”

Jennifer gives Mary a look of disdain: “You underestimated me then. You are STILL underestimating me. You found out the hard way how much punching power I’ve got. I knocked you cold then. I will knock you cold now. Your time is passing, Mary, I am the future of the lightweight division—you and everyone else will see that.”
“My only regret is giving away my white belt,” Mary growls. “I liked the way you got spanked with your own stable sorority paddle after your last fight. I think my belt would have been better on your backside.”

Jen flushes red: “The last I saw of that belt Yvonne Stravoski was using it on your buns. Do not tempt me. That paddle is still around the Academy gym somewhere.”

‘You pull out that paddle and I’ll stuff it up your—“ Mary starts to snarl, but she is interrupted.

“Now, Mary, dear and you, too Jennifer, there is no need to make idle threats. Not when I am here!” A familiar Australian accented voice is heard from the wings.

“Vonnie?!” Mary gasps in surprise.

“Strahovski! What’s going on here?” Jennifer demands.

Out onto the stage strolls Yvonne Strahovski, she has the infamous White Belt slung over her shoulder.

“I got to thinking that you two needed more than lightweight title shot to make this fight REALLY interesting. Then I thought of this belt which Mary turned over to me. I will make you two an offer: this belt and myself will be at ringside. The winner can, if she so chooses, have loan of the belt to use on the loser. Now isn’t that a fair offer?” Yvonne purred.

“Fair all right,” growled Jennifer. “You and your Lookout sisters get to see one of us get her butt whipped by that belt.”

“I think that is a fascinating idea,” Mary said with a note of wonderment in her voice. “You always do come up with the most interesting ideas. Of course, I’ll do it—assuming Jennifer isn’t afraid she’d lose.”

“I am not at all afraid,” Jennifer said stiffly. “You should be afraid. You thought Strahovski used that belt on you hard—you won’t be sitting for a month when I get through with you.”

Mary just gives her a smirk and then turns to Yvonne: “Then we are agreed. I expect to see you—and my belt there at ringside.”

“Wouldn’t miss this for the world,” Yvonne assures them and strolls off the stage as the crowd buzzes with excitement.

The remainder of the press conference is something of an anticlimax but in the days that follow, fans of both ladies debate who will win and what will happen to the loser. Tension is high as Jennifer walks to the ring accompanied by Jeri Ryan, Blake Lively and Charlize Theron. Jen is in a blazing red fighting bikini with red boots and gloves (white laces). Hair is in a battle braid down her back. She looks ready for action. (Jeri, Blake and Charlize are in black shorts and white tops that have TEAM J-LAW across the chest and back)

Mary makes her entrance in company of Foxfire Lightweight Trainer Rachel Nichols, former Lightweight Champion and now Foxfire General Manager Jennifer Garner. Rounding out the escort party is young Foxfire lightweight Sophie Turner. Mary herself in in cobalt blue bikini with matching boots and gloves (white laces) her bobbed hair is wetted down but hanging loose. (Rachel, Jen G and Sophie are in red shorts and tops with the logo TEAM MEW on the front and back.

As the Jen and Mary go to meet the referee the arena lights darken and a single spotlight falls on the ringside seat of Yvonne Strahovski. She’s in a dazzling white summer dress with the White Belt around her waist. She buckles it, holds it over her head and then nods at the fighters. Then she sits down with the Belt across her lap. The lights come back up.

Mary and Jennifer look annoyed at Yvonne’s scene-stealing, but then they notice each other and their lips curl back in snarls. Referee quickly has his hands full keeping them under control to the instructions as they jostle up against each other. Tap of gloves turns into a loud SMACK of clashing leather, but, at last, the fighters are in their corners and the bell rings. The fight begins…

R1: No hesitation as Mary and Jen come shooting out of their corners and plow into each other with hard banging to the body. Fierce, sustained pounding of belly, ribs and breasts as the blonde and brunette seem to go all-in to crush the resistance of the other early on. Some foot movement as they shift position trying to get leather into new areas of the torso. Then Jen reaches up to slap Mary’s face with a quick right to the jaw and a follow-up left to the cheekbone. Mary fires back into Jen’s face with straight rights between the eyes and surprise lefts off the side of the Jen. Neither fighter moving back. Punch rates are steadily rising as the punching now includes quick shots to the head and face in addition to the constant pressure to the body. Jen sinking some late hooks just above the waistband of Mary’s bikini bottoms sinking them deep into her tummy. Mary trying to hook Jen’s boobs, but then gets her chin hit hard by an answering Lawrence uppercut. Mary drifting back as Jen follows hammering away at Mary’s breasts then back to that lower belly just as the bell rings. Very hard fought round, but judges give it to Jennifer close. Mary and Jen giving each other glares after the bell, but referee heads off trouble by ordering them to their corners.

R2: Action picks up where it left off last round as Jen tries to force Mary back with those belly hooks mixed with quick ones of the jaw and chin. Mary hanging in and scores with some beefy blows to Jen’s hooters: straight rights that crush those red bra cups and then lefts that smack them from the side. Jen not liking this and tries to answer with some jugg pounding of her own, but Mary again taking the punches to counter with hard rights and lefts off Jen’s chin. They just bang away until Jen seems to wilt under the chin attack and falls back. Mary now going after Jen’s stomach, but this allows Jen to employ jab to bang up Mary’s face. Mary puts another right between Jen’s eyes to break the blonde’s jabbing. Jen dropping back, but she’s still mgot a strong jab going. Mary working around it, getting hit, but ignoring it to smack the side of Jen’s head to the bell. Another close round, but this time it is Mary who wins the stanza. Again two are glaring at each other after the bell. Again referee has to intervene. Crowd is loving then hot action.

R3: Mary now adding some footwork to her attack, making Jennifer follow her and trying to keep the blonde off balance. Mary’s flicking out punch after punch into Jen’s head and face. Jen getting lumped up, but trying to hang in there and firing back the jab to light up Mary’s chest and stomach. Jen shifts to attacking Mary’s head, but Mary now moving her upper body more and these punches become less and less effective. Mary just steadily working Jennifer’s head and face, apparently trying to wear her down rather than go for the knockout punch. Jen starting to look frazzled as the round ends with Mary backing her up—a confident look on her face. Look seems to irk Jen after the bell as she makes a lunge for Mary but is intercepted by referee. Mary just turns away with a parting smile. Jen stomping to her corner, battered, bleeding a bit and not happy.

R4: Jeri Ryan talking sternly to her fighter. Blake and Charlize watching. Charlize offering a few suggestions, but letting Jeri run the show. Jen looking fired up, pounds mitts together and jumps off her stool at the bell. Mary not rushing in, she’s seems to have decided to let Jennifer make the first move and go from there. Jen starts out with a fresh attack on Mary’s waistline driving in hooks that send shivers down the Winstead gams. Mary hunching up, jabbing while she decides what to do next. Jennifer not waiting. She feints a fresh attack on belly meat, but brings a crashing right into Mary’s jaw. Mary’s head spins and her whole body follows! MARY WINSTEAD GOES DOWN! Mary lands on her side and rolls to her back, gloves at her head as she rolls from side to side. Jennifer looks down with a big smile of satisfaction and then heads for neutral corner. The hearts of MEW fans are in their throats as they watched their felled fighter struggle to hold onto consciousness and get back to her feet. Count is rising, but so is Mary! She makes it fully erect as “NINE!...” Her fans let out a collective breath of relief, but Jennifer is waved back in and the clearly gobsmacked Mary has to struggle desperately to keep the blonde from following up the knockdown. It’s a desperately long minute for Mary Elizabeth Winstead as she tries to back away behind her jab, but Jennifer Lawrence is charging hard, trying to force her punches into Mary’s face. Mary covering up and gives up her body to Jen’s swabbing body punches just to make it to the bell. Mary unsteady trying to make it back to her corner. It’s a most satisfying sight for Jennifer Lawrence. Thanks to the knockdown, Jen wins the round wide, Mary able to keep just busy enough to avoid the embarrassment of a shutout round.

R5: Mary worked on by the Foxfire corner crew as Rachel Nichols talks to her fighter. Mary nodding, but she looks sleepy as the effects of that J-Law right are still ringing through her brain. However, she is up gamely at the bell and watches warily as Jennifer comes at her, circling like a shark around a wounded sea lion. Then Jen makes her move, going to the head, but Mary ducking down and using the jab to strike at Jen’s face. Jen continues to circle, trying find an opening, but Mary keeping up. Nothing very fancy from the Foxfire fighter, but that jab is striking home and keeping Jen from the finishing punches she would clearly like to land. Thwarted up top, Jen goes back to the body to make Mary suffer with a fresh burst of hooks into her stomach and then up into her breasts. Mary jabbing back, but not letting her guard drop and getting her counters into Jen. Round ends with Mary looking tired, banged up, but smiling slightly as Jennifer slaps her glove against her hip in annoyance that the brunette is still standing. Round goes to Jennifer Lawrence wide.

R6: Mary and Rachel continuing to discuss the situation, but so are Jeri and Jen. Jennifer resumes the body attack, but Mary now able to use more footwork and keep some distance between herself and the blonde. Jen now seeking to cut off the ring, but Mary has become elusive, but Jen dogged in her pursuit. Finally, Mary stops running and Jen eagerly closes in. This sets off storm of leather to the body as Jen tries to break Mary down, but Mary answering in kind to her opponent’s body. Crowd on its collective feet as the two are again going all-in on this body battering battle. Mary then breaks the pattern by suddenly going after Jennifer’s chin. Jen knocked back, but gets Mary’s chin with a counter uppercut. Mary falling back now, but when Jen advances, she runs into a Mary jabbing storm to the head that makes her drop back. Mary and Jen circle, firing away. Jen getting some leaping rights and lefts off Mary’s head but can’t manage a direct hit. Mary fighting a hard defensive action to the bell, but Jennifer still able to pull it out by a narrow margin. Both fighters panting, sweat dripping from their bodies, glare at each other with burning eyes and then march away.

R7: Jennifer again the aggressive fighter at the opening. She heads right back to the body, but again Mary is stepping away and making the blond chase her. Jennifer starting to lunge in frustration and getting her head banged around by Mary. Jen starting to move less nimbly and she’s straining to put power into her punches when she can get close to Mary. Then Mary suddenly stops running and goes on the attack! MEW fans roar as Mary tries to fight her way in against Jennifer, She’s making Jennifer’s head bob and swivel with her rapid-fire rights and lefts to the head. Jen staggering back, but quickly employs her own jab to bust up Mary’s face and stall her attack. Mary and Jen seem to pause for moment of mutual regrouping as they circle each other and don’t punch. Just a few seconds then Mary goes to the midsection to bring Jennifer up on her toes with deep, vicious hooks to the gut. Jen falling back, but still effective with the jab to keep Mary from building on the stomach work. Mary keeps up pressure to the body, but Jen keeping her guard up to maintain her defenses. Another close, grueling round, but this time Mary Elizabeth Winstead emerges in narrow winner. Fighters bang shoulders as they separate, but again referee earns his money keeping this fight under control.

R8: More huddling in both corners during the break. Jeri Ryan looking annoyed as Charlize and Blake seem to be offering differing advice on what Jen should do next. “Let me fight my own fight!” Jen heard to say and this seems to quiet her bickering advisers. Meanwhile Mary is getting advice from Rachel Nichols and nodding. Jen Garner not saying much but giving her a supportive “I know you can do, Mair!” hug. Sophie Turner watching all this wide-eyed. Must be very educational for the young lightweight. Ooops. Time is running out on the break. Everyone scrambles out of the ring and the bell sounds.

Mary now on the attack, striking at Jennifer’s head and chest early. Jennifer seems content to use her jab to break up the attack and she does get some good leather into Mary’s lumped up face initially. Then Mary starts to put more movement into her legs and she goes to the stomach to rattle Jen’s legs as the impacts shoot down her stems. Jen trying to work her way around Mary to attack from the side, but Mary able to turn faster and gets a series of clouting rights with increasing power into the side of Jennifer’s head. Jen slowing down, looking groggy and then Mary commits to an attack up the middle. She drives punches into Jen’s face between the blonde’s faltering gloves and knocks her head back again and again. Jen pawing at Mary in confusion as Mary cracks lefts and rights off her jaw. Jennifer seems to lunge forward, even though her gloves are falling to her sides. Mary steps to one side as Jennifer stumbles forward AND DOWN SHE GOES! Jennifer lands on her knees, spits out her mouthpiece and topples forward ending up with her cheek against the canvas breathing wetly as the referee is counting.

Mary watching from the neutral corner as Jennifer stirs and pushes herself up on her elbows, but that’s as much as she can manage as the count reaches: “TEN!...YER OUT!”

THE WINNER: MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD DEFEATS JENNIFER LAWRENCE KO8!

After: Mary wearily raising both arms as she walks along the ring saluting her cheering fans. She stops at her own corner where Rachel Nichols, Jen Garner and Sophie Turner crowd around her offering congratulations. Mary has her gloves removes, then she looks back across the ring where Jennifer Lawrence is being revived on her stool as Jeri Ryan, Charlize Theron and Blake Lively watch grimly.

“Hey! Don’t forget this!” It’s Yvonne Stravoski climbing through the ropes and waving the White Belt.

“Oh not a chance of that!” Mary calls going over to hug Vonnie and take the Belt, Rachel, Jen G and Sophie are close at hand as back up as Mary heads for the Academy corner.

“Now unless all you ladies want to feel this Belt, I suggest you get out of the ring,” Mary announces.

“You can leave,” Jen Lawrence says to her stablemates, but with a defiant glare at Mary. “I can take what she’s got.”

“You better not get carried away,” Charlize says menacingly.

“I’ll think about it, Now kindly leave,” Mary says sternly.

Charlize, Blake and Jeri follow the ring crew out of the ring and onto the arena floor. They stand at the edge of the ring which gives Mary an idea. She pulls Jennifer off the stool and thrusts her over the middle rope so she is just above the Academy crew. Then Mary starts snapping away with the belt. Jennifer tries to be stoic, but quickly it turns to yelps and then to squeals, Mary keeps up a steady, not frenzied pace, but each smack and vocal reaction from J-Law is apparently pleasing to her.

“SIX!...SEVEN!...EIGHT!” the crowd is chanting along.

“NINE!”

And Mary stops. “That’s enough,” she says and hands the Belt back to Yvonne.

Jeri, Blake and Charlize scramble back into the ring. Jennifer is hanging limply moaning: “Oh, my butt!” Jeri and Blake help get Jen to her feet, but Charlize slips up behind Vonnie and Mary who have their backs to her as they giggle and talk. With cobra-like striking speed, Charlize reaches out and bangs their heads together. Mary and Yvonne stagger away drunkenly and then fall down, conscious, but stunned.

“OMG! Charlize conked Mary and Yvonne!” Sophie Turner cries to Jen Garner and Rachel Nichols who had turned away thinking the fight was over. Charlize charges forward knocking Sophie off her feet with a flying clothesline and then plowing straight into Jenny G and Rachel. The Foxfire trainers are knocked to their backs and Charlize kneels with one knee on each other am and slaps away.

“I’ve wanted to do this for so long!” Charlize crows.

Then Sophie Turner tries to get a headlock on Charlize, but she has trouble setting the hold. Charlize grabs an arm and flips Sophie who lands on her back with a thud. All the air is blown out of Sophie lungs and she lies there gasping. Charlize chuckles. Then she bangs Jen and Rachel’s heads together stunning them once again.

Charlize then looks back and sees Mary slap fighting with Blake Lively. Jeri Ryan having gotten Jennifer Lawrence out of the ring and propped against the ring apron, rolls back into the ring in time to tackle Yvonne Strahoski who was about to attack Blake from behind. She grabs Yvonne by the hair and tries to drag her down. Yvonne shrieks indignantly and tries to get free.

Then Charlize sees Hayden Panettiere, Sarah Carter and Rachel McAdams starting to climb to the ring to add their embattled Foxfire stablemates. Charlize leaps to her feet and does a quick Baseball slide taking out Hayden and Rachel with a foot to the face. Sarah Carter is in the middle but Charlize grabs her by the hair and bangs her forehead against the ring apron. Sarah goes limp and drops out of sight. Hayden and Rachel Mac are stirring. Charlize looks back to see Blake has Mary looking “slap happy”.

Charlize rushes over to Blake: “Get her over here!”

Blake grabs an arm and Charlize a leg and they spin Mary around before sending her sliding across the ring and she crashes right into Hayden and Rachel as they are about to make their second attempt to enter the ring. The three of them are thrown to the arena floor (and on top of the unfortunate Sarah Carter).

Suddenly Jeri Ryan comes crashing into Blake and Charlize. Somehow Yvonne has got free and hip tossed Jeri into the other Academy brawlers. Yvonne grabs the infamous White Belt and dives for the opposite side of the ring. Charlize manages to grab Vonnie by the ankle and pulls her back, but Yvonne lashes back with her free foot hitting Charlize in the nose. Charlize gives a yelp and Yvonne drops to the arena floor. Charlize then sees Yvonne’s stablemates Missy Pergyrm, Elisha Cuthbert and Michelle Trachtenberg fighting their way through a crowd of FCBA Security to escort Yvonne to safety.

Charlize turns back to find Blake tearing the TEAM MEW shirt off Sophie Turner (who is wearing bra under it, fortunately for the sensitive). (She has missed seeing Blake head butt Sophie Turner and then body slam her onto Jen Garner and Rachel Nichols just as they were starting to revive. The three are now in a groaning heap.)

“Come on, Security is coming, fun’s over let’s go!” Charlize cries.

Charlize, Jeri and Blake quickly slide under the ropes. They find Lindsay Lohan and Lindsey Pelas have reached the ring and are helping Jennifer Lawrence make her exit. As they head up the ramp, Mary Winstead has climbed back into the ring and is stomping her foot in frustration. Then FCBA Security floods the ring and the battered Foxfire forces make their withdrawal.

“It was just shocking,” Foxfire Communications Director Beth Harnois complains. “The only thing those Security jobbers did was keep me, Dani Fishel, Willa Holland, Candice Swanepoel and Clair Sinclair from joining in! And I am shocked at the Academy’s behavior. I think they were looking to erase the beatdown Lookout gave them. Well, they are going to regret using us like that, but that’s all I’ll say about it now!”

FCBA Front Office not happy with Beth’s criticism and fine her $100 for “disrespecting FCBA employees.” (Ms. Harnois reply said to be unprintable).

As for Yvonne Strahoski, she says: “Well, I didn’t think the Academy girls would like it, but you know Lawrence would have used that belt on Mary. No, I certainly didn’t expect a full scale brawl, but I think Beth Harnois had a point about them wanting revenge for what we at Lookout Boxing did in paddling their collective fannies. Hmm. Maybe I should have warned Mary about that…”

It is a shame that there was so many post-fight distractions, This was a real barnburner of a fight with Lawrence and Winstead making maximum efforts to win, Once again Mary Winstead’s toughness allowed her to comeback and take out an opponent. She hasn’t always been to do it, but when she does, the results are most impressive. No doubt J-Law was very disappointed in the outcome of the fight, but she fought hard and well, It just was not enough tonight against Mary Winstead. Hopefully Jen will see more action in the second half of the year while Mary faces off against Adriana Lima who seems to get better with every fight. Getting the Lightweight belt away from her will be a very difficult task.
