Before: Jones keeping limber with tasty treat Jolie—Angelina a wiry little minx with plenty of street in her, but could use a smaller, less experienced foe for her debut. Angelie combative as they come, but Jones just as quick, better schooled and stronger—yikes. CZJ in pink push up bra and panties, black shoes and gloves, Jolie in pale blue bra and panties, white gloves and shoes.

During R1: No boxing from Jones—she comes right at Jolie, bending her knees and trying to take Jolie’s head off with every punch. Angelie a little awkward, all arms and legs—can’t get out of the way and crowd screams as Jolie takes head-jolting blows early that have her long limbs rebelling. Jolie slugging back, but tends to push her punches, sticking her fists into Zeta Jones with weird, jerky delivery. Jones smirking at the bell, enjoying her turn as big woman.

R2: Jones exuberance gets the better of her as Jolie recovers nicely and allows some things this round. Still pushing and sticking her punches, still slugging wide—Jolie nevertheless is able to pat away, then brush Jones to the side with both hands, pivoting around the Brit and opening up angles. Jones could easily deal with this, but insists on charging in, wasting a fair amount of energy and getting nicked up on those sensitive cheekbones. Jolie’s round.

R3: Jones simply too strong—putting intense pressure on Jolie with her legs, hounding Angelie to the corners, then loading up fearless of reprisal. Angelie slugging willfully in the corners, but midway through the round, girls trade rights and Jolie nearly goes to her knees, straightening to reel wide eyed on the turnbuckles, Vintage Jones as she steps in with blistering lefts and rights I combinations, taking great pains to pound Jolie’s mouth with cracking connects at the bell, Angelie beginning to puff up—she’s taking some big shots after only 3 heats.

R4: Jones using her legs this round, circles left, breaking Jolie down with pulverizing jabs, then steps into a single clean hook on the point of the chin which drops Jolie to her backside, Angelie up, but glassy-eyed, nevertheless gamely walks in and starts whipping wide punches—unfortunately too slow to be effective. Jones very patient, counters efficiently, wrecking Jolie with every judicious punch and by the midway point, Angelie is stepping in fence post holes. Final minute, Angelie pushing out a weak right hand—Jones slipping left, comes back with a cracking left hook on the chin once again to corkscrew Angelie to her hunches. AJ up again at 8, weaving terribly, and Jones has just enough time to jump in with a curling right hand on the face to drop Jolie to her back at the bell,. Angelie writhing on her back—is helped to her corner as Jones grins—she;’s having a good time in there.

R5,6,7: Jones simply walks at her foe, hurling punches from her hips, taking Jolie’s slapping, sticking blows, then blistering Angelie with savage counters from either hand. Gangly Jolie seems to be on the verge of going down almost all the time, stepping awkwardly, punching with a weird, lashing motion, but surviving, and after 7—Jones is clearly winding down, Catherine on her stool looks like she’s seriously miscalculated her pacing, getting away with all the power punching.

R8: Jones immediately cutting off the ring, dives in with short right hand to the face to once again send Jolie staggering to the ropes. Catherine still bringing oohs and aahs out of the crowd as she lights Jolie up with spanking connects on the lips and skull, but badly battered Angelie’s no quitter. Using the two handed brush, Jolie spins off the ropes, and begins nailing Jones with awkward lefts and rights, and in the final minute, a dead tired Jones takes a left, right, left wide across her cheeks and stumbles to her knees! Angelie pumped, looks like she’s got something left as Jones wearily gets to her feet at the bell.

R9: Jones now looking like a desperate puncher, flailing and reaching with right hands as Jolie steps around. Jolie now touching Jones fairly consistently with the jab, pushing it onto Catherine’s face, just nudging the head back and ruining Jones’ timing. Midway through the round, both girls lean into slinging right hands, and Jolie’s bounces sharply off Jones face and ZETA JONES GOES DOWN! CZJ on one knee is shocked and nearly exhausted, getting to her feet but breathing heavily. Jolie pressing, stands and slugs to drain the last dregs of energy from Jones as Catherine wilts under light punches to the ropes. Jolie still slapping and lashing lefts and rights at the bell, cracks a smile as Jones looks shot.

R10: Cathy Z clinches smart, putting her body on Jolie, mugging the lighter girl to the ropes and indulges in trench warfare to run the clock. Jones unabashed holding and hitting, refuses to let Angelie get outside, scrubbing the girls ribs in close with crude pawing lefts and rights, Jolie responding with bent arm hooks and uppercuts—her thin arms trembling as she digs into Jones form torso. Bell sounds as Jones pushes off worn, but the clear victor by unanimous decision.

After: Unexpectedly entertaining bout as Jones makes a bad tactical error in going for the knockout early, nearly strands herself late as Jolie refused to quit. Angelie with the kind of bony architecture and gritty attitude that might see her do well south of 110, but simply unable to hurt even a fatigued Catherine Zeta Jones. Angelie leaves the fight badly beaten about the face, taking some of Jones’ best blows in the process.
