BRIE LARSON VS LAURA VANDERVOORT
Boxing on Beach Bout
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Brie: 27 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 1-0-1 ( 1 KO) since 2017, Diamond Boxing Club.
Laura: 32 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 33-32-2 (23 Kos) since 2007, Foxfire Boxing

Before: Fight is piped into the FCBA Arena from a sunny tropical Hawaiian sunny beach. Exclusive resort hotel sponsoring the fight and interested guests will be watching from comfortable seats arranged near the classic four-ring-posts-in-the-sand beach. Press conference for the event held at the resort hotel.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be here,” Brie Larson tells the assembled scribes. “This will be my first time on the beach and only my second FCBA fight. I have to be facing a legend in Beach Boxing. I have been training hard. I just hope I don’t do something stupid like trip over my feet and fall flat on my face. Of course, I want to win, but I know I am the underdog. I will do the best I can we’ll all see how that turns out. Did I tell you how excited I am to be here?”

A cheerful ripple of laughter goes through the crowd. Then Laura Vandervoort comes to the podium.

“Always good to see new talent on the sand,” says Laura Vandervoort, “we all have to start somewhere and I am sure this will be an educational experience for Brie. I just hope she doesn’t take losing to me too hard. I would never want to scare a newcomer away from my favorite fight genre, so just take losing to me philosophically.”

Brie Larson frowns: “I haven’t lost to you yet.”

“No, but, let’s face it: the odds are not in your favor,” Laura says with more than a little condescension in her voice. “I am just being realistic.”

Now Brie gets a stubborn look: “I wouldn’t be so sure, Laura. I may not have much of a record, but I know how it feels to win and I want that feeling back.”

“I’m, sure you will get it back—just not in this fight,” Laura replies, “disrespecting me is noit going to get you a win.”

“I am not disrespecting you—you are disrespecting me and I am not going to let you get away with it!” Brie is showing her temper.

“Don’t you raise your voice to me you greenhorn jobber!” Laura fires back.

Brie stands up. (She and Laura are in shorts and tops—the tops having FOXFIRE and DIAMOND BOXING CLUB logos across the front). She marches up to Laura and looks her in the eye.

“You want to say that again—you conceited, arrogant bully!” Brie says in a low, deadly tone.

SMACK!

Laura, enraged by the insult from a mere rookie, reacts by giving Brie Larson a firm palm of the hand across the face. Brie is knocked off balance briefly but comes back with a firm palm of her own. Laura is rocked, but she comes back grabbing Brie’s top and tearing it off revealing the pale blue sports bra underneath. Brie then grabs Laura’s top and pulls it over her head revealing Laura’s white lace bra while blinding her. Brie spins Laura around and gives her a kick in the back of the shorts. Then in rushes Danielle Fishel, who had come along to act as Laura’s trainer for the event and the 5’1 fireplug plows into the 5’7 Brie. That brings former DBC member Keri Russell. who has accompanied Brie on her trip, to come bounding out to aid her DBC teammate who has been knocked to the floor with Dani trying to get a schoolgirl pin in place.

Just as Keri reaches Dani and Brie, she sees Laura has torn off her top and is headed towards them with a vengeful look in her eye. Keri immediately dives forward and tackles Laura to the floor. Laura gets a knee up into the crotch of Keri’s shorts and makes her cry out loudly with pain and indignation. Keri then drives a knee into Laura’s crotch and is rewarded with a howl of pain and fury from the veteran.

Meanwhile, Brie has managed to roll to one side and avoid Dani Fishel’s schoolgirl pin, but now she and Dani have locked hands. They are rolling around on the stage.

The audience has rushed forward to get some close up views of the catfighting action and get photos that will soon be blanketing social media. They have only minutes for the Resort Security arrives on the scene to drag the now raging young women apart and far away from each other. Aftermath sees soaring interest in the coming bout.

“I was shocked that a supposedly respectable veteran from a supposedly respectable stable would act like that!” Brie Larson fumes to the press. “I guess this fight will be ‘educational’ and it hasn’t even happened yet!”

“These rookies are impossible!” Laura Vandervoort complains. “They show no respect, but expect respect in return! She will get no respect from me now! I ought to take her top and run it up a flagpole! That should teach not to act like that with me or anyone else from Foxfire!”

For her part, Dani Fishel confides: “Wasn’t that a cool fight? I wonder if DBC is into tag team wrestling.”

Keri Russell says: “I guess Vandervoort didn’t much like my knee in her womanhood, Well neither did I—she started it. I can promise you—my stablemate Brie will finish it!”

Tents set up at either end of the beach ring. (Longer tent for the judges is on the Oceanside on the ring with the seated audience on the landward side). At the appointed time, out comes Laura Vandervoort in a black bikini with black gloves (white laces) her hair pulled back into a French braid. Brie Larson in forest green bikini with black gloves (white laces). Brie’s hair pulled back in a ponytail secured by a green scrunchy. Beach observers impressed with Brie’s sturdy look, though Laura Vandervoort gives Brie a look of disdain after showily looking her uo and down (Dani Fishel on hand in black bikini and Keri Russell is in red bikini. They will be joining the Foxfire and DBC corner crews to support their respective stablemates).

The day may be hot (though an ocean breeze takes the edge off it), but things seem downright arctic cold as Laura and Brie meet for ring instructions. The two try to stare each other down and the referee has to remind them several times to pay strict attention to him. They ram their gloves together and march across the sand to their corners. Dani and Keri seen to whisper last minute encouragement. The timekeeper sounds the bell and it begins…

R1: Laura Vandervoort confidently bounds across the sand towards Brie Larson who is moving cautiously toward the center of the ring. Laura lunges forward and clips Brie on the side of the head with her right. Brie turns and catches Laura with a counter right to the jaw as she is pulling back. Laura’s head swivels and she freezes in shock. Brie moves in quickly to ring up Laura’s chin with quick uppercuts and adds a hook to the belly that doubles Laura up with a loud gasp. Laura shuffling backwards as Brie gallops after her swinging hard to the head until Laura gets her gloves up to block. Then Brie gives Laura’s midsection some attention. Most in the crowd are caught by surprise as Laura Vandervoort flounders under Brie’s strong attack. Laura is managing to keep on her feet as she backs up and finally gets her jab going to stall Brie’s attacks with counters to the face and chest. Laura able to avert a shutout, but she can’t stop Brie from taking her first beach round by a wide margin. Laura looking around in woozy confusion as Brie marches to her corner after the bell.

R2: Dani Fishel in urgent consultation with Laura V during the break. Keri Russell speaking in less urgent, but still serious terms to Brie, who nods in acknowledge of the advice. The bell rings and Brie quickly finds herself trying to fight off an aroused and determined Laura Vandervoort. Laura doing her best to mess with Brie’s footwork on the sand by making quick, unexpected moves that cause Brie to lurch into waiting Laura punches. Brie getting her face and head worked over pretty hard this way. Brie able to avoid panic and tries to keep up with her sand-nimble opponent. Brie getting some defensive counters to protect her head and Laura moves down to work Brie’s midsection. Brie grimacing as her abs get worked over again and, but she seems reluctant to back up, trying stubbornly to fight the quick-moving Laura. Round ends in a round won wide by the veteran, Big smile Laura as she apparently feels she has restored order. Frown Brie as she learns fighting Laura V is now getting harder.

R3: Laura now moving strongly on Brie Larson this round, driving in close with a relentless barrage of pressure punching body and head and back to body. Brie now backing up as Laura pursues her around the ring. Brie trying to set her feet so she can defend with power, but Laura not allowing her to do that. Then Laura suddenly goes back to the sneaky footwork. Brie falls for feint, lunges forward with a strongly thrown right that hits only empty air. BANG! Brie caught on the temple by a straight right/left combo from Laura. BRIE NOSE-DIVES INTO THE SAND! Laura with a smug look of triumph turns to neutral corner as Brie raises her head out of the sand with a look of woe on her face. However, as referee starts count, Brie shakes off the sand and carefully rises. Nice timing as she is fully on her feet just as ref hits “NINE! Brie seems to have been able to recover and she is jabbing back with vigor when Laura returns. Brie more stationary this time and she finally gets those feet set so she strike back at Laura to avert a rout. Bell sounds as Laura looks pleased at taking the rookie down. Brie not at all happy, but she is greeted with a hug and encouraging words from Keri.

R4: Laura determined to continue the pressure on Brie, but the DBC fighter using her jab much more effectively to disrupt Laura’s timing and break up her rushes. Laura trying to maintain the pressure, but as the round passes the midway point, Brie starting to counterattack. Starts with hard pounding of the belly and breasts to loosen Laura’s defenses. Then she spots a gap and boldly goes in a bring right uppercut behind Laura’s gloves and up into her chin. Laura stiffens as the impact wave of the blow slams through her body. Brie brings an overhand right into Laura’s forehead as her gloves drop. TIMBER! LAURA V FALLS OVER BACKWARDS LIKE A FELLED PALM TREE! Laura sprawled on her back in the sand, groaning and moving her legs weakly. Brie drinks in the sight before she’s reminded by the referee she should be in the neutral corner. Laura rolling on her side, slowly pushing herself up and just manages to beat the count. She does her best to convince official that she’s all right and he does allow Brie back in. However Laura is in a tight defense for the shirt remainder of the round. Once the bell sounds, she goes shuffling back to her corner with a blank look on her face. Big hugs and smiles in DBC corner as Brie is greeted by Keri Russell.

R5: Danielle Fishel and Foxfire corner crew working hard to get Laura Vandervoort in fighting condition. Laura seen insisting to Dani that she can shake this off. Dani nods, but does not look happy. Bell rings. Laura makes a desperate effort to come out quickly and start punching as though the previous round had not happened. Brie blocking or just absorbing punches as she works Laura to the stomach. Laura quickly running out of steam. Brie then moves to belly again, but it’s a successful feint. Laura drops her guard and in comes the Brie Larson Blockbusters. Rights and lefts come crashing into alternate sides of Laura’s head as she is driven back through the sand. Then Brie drops down and is up an instant later with a monster right uppercut to the chin. Laura lifted off her feet comes sliding across the sand end up near her own corner.
“GET UP, LAURIE! GET UP!” Dani Fishel is yelling.
Laura not hearing she just lies there on her back, eyelids flustering and chest heaving, but that's it. Referee counts and soon it is: “NINE!...TEN!...YER OUT!”
A loudspeaker booms the results: “THE WINNER BRIE LARSON OF THE DIAMOND BOXING CLUB! KO5!”

After: Cheers from the resort crowd are echoed in the FCBA Arena where the fight is being shown on the Jumbotron. Brie and Kerri are jumping up and down in excitement. Then Brie has her gloves removed and hurries to the Foxfire corner where Laura is woozily awake. Brie so excited she rather rudely pushes Dani Fishel aside and drags Laura to her feet. Dani looking angry as she watches Brie half-carry, half-drag Laura around the sandy ring. (Keri Russell moving into position in case Dani gets any ideas…)

Laura leaning sleepily on Brie, her chin on the DBC fighter’s shoulder as they finish in front of the Foxfire corner. Brie gets a wicked smile and reaches around and removes Laura’s black bikini top. She then lowers Laura onto her stool as Dani Fishel throws a towel to cover Laura’s chest.

“Not sure where I’ll put this,” Brie says waving the bikini top in a Dani Fishel’s stony with anger face. “I don’t think DBC has a flagpole, but I’ll find a place for it. This beach boxing is fun!”

“You are SO going to regret this,” Dani says.

“I doubt that very much,” Brie says as Keri joins her so Dani would have to take on them both.

“Just get me out of here, Dani,” Laura murmurs, but then looks at Brie, “she is right. You will SO regret this!”

“I’ll risk it,” Brie says and walks away with Keri twirling the black bikini top trophy.

Beach fans more than a little shocked that Laura Vandervoort got beaten by a rookie on the beach. Is Brie Larson that good? Or has Laura V slipped badly? Only time will tell that. Meanwhile Brie and the DBC get to savor an excellent win while trying to decide where to deploy Brie next.
