BEFORE:



"Well," says Rachelle with a shake of the head, "It didn't take two FULL years this time, just 19 months for me to get another shot in the FCBA. And, the only thing I can do to get more work is to start cashing these in...so, that's exactly what I'll do tonight."



"I've seen her fight," says Gemma with a nod. "She's tough, physical, likes to bang inside. She can cause problems for a lot of girls that way. But. If you're going bodies with me, you're going to come out second best."



ROUND ONE:



O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'All This And Heaven, Too"...



Cassie: "Just three fights in, and it's been a big night for Florence + The Machine tonight..."



McCarthy: "I like that Florence girl. She can SING, unlike SOME of the people we hear around here!"



O'Dell (sighing): "And, coming down to the ring to that little ditty is the lovely Canadian redhead Rachelle LeFevre! Rachelle into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a black two-piece and plenty of evidence that she's been training hard for this one."



McCarthy: "Allow me to point out that we are in the THIRD fight and we still have not seen a Dancing Hooker opponent with an actual FCBA WIN!"



Tess: "Well, the first two girls were making their FCBA DEBUTS..."



McCarthy: "Meaning they had no WINS!"



O'Dell: "And, that's 'London Calling' you hear behind us, and that means that 'The Gravesend Gladiator' Gemma Arterton is on her way to the ring."



Cassie: "Arterton, of course, held the lightweight titles earlier this year, so she's a tough assignment for anyone."



McCarthy: "Especially a girl with NO FCBA wins!"



O'Dell: "Arterton into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that violet two-piece we've seen before, and the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess favors Gems. Mac?"



McCarthy: "Again, NO FCBA wins. Arterton!"



O'Dell: "Cassie?"



Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"



O'Dell: "There's the bell and LeFevre all in right now! Rachelle right across the ring and she's in Gemma's grill letting her hands go! Redhead getting off lusty in the opening seconds of this thing. Arterton taken aback, covering up, giving ground, most certainly did not expect this."



McCarthy: "Not a bad idea from LeFevre. What's she got to lose? She's sturdy and can hit. Might as well get the leather on and see what happens."



O'Dell: "And, that seems to be the plan, at least for the moment. Arterton trying to adjust, trying to slow this down, but Rachelle not going to be kept off. The Canadian staying after the Brit, letting her have it with both hands. Brunette on her back foot, can't seem to get off the defensive."



Cassie: "And, LeFevre's landing some BOMBS here, too. This isn't just suppressive fire. This is heavy leather."



O'Dell: "It is, indeed. Arterton not hurt, but, she's definitely taking a beating. We're into the final thirty seconds of the round. Rachelle a solid right hand. Gemma actually backed to the ropes now, guard high, playing defense, looking to ride this thing out. And, there's the bell. LeFevre BOUNCING back to her corner after a great start. She takes the first wide."



Tess: "Got to say, I didn't expect that...and, clearly, neither did Arterton."



ROUND TWO:



O'Dell: "Second begins with Rachelle forward again. This time, though, Arterton ready for her, laying down a blanket of fire that stops the redhead and keeps her at range. And, that quickly, we're on even terms, with both fighters loading up at range and letting the heavy leather go..."



Cassie: "It's been a long time since I've seen as many power punches as this thrown in three-plus minutes. They are just committing on EVERYTHING in there."



O'Dell: "Indeed, they are, and you've got to wonder how much longer...BIG RIGHT HAND, GEMS! LeFevre is HURT! Rachelle stumbles backward after a BOOMING right from the former champion and Arterton immediately going all in! She's winging away at the wobbly redhead, driving her back to the ropes..."



Tess: "This is bad for LeFevre. You do NOT want to be where she is right now against Gemma."



O'Dell: "Arterton calling in artillery strike after artillery strike, hammering away at Rachelle as LeFevre covers up along the ropes. She's taking a shellacking, but doing enough in counter to keep the referee at bay. Redhead's sturdy legs being tested, but they're passing. Ten seconds to go. Arterton goes body, then back to the head and there's the bell. Rachelle survives, but, it's Gemma wide."



McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19 after two."



ROUND THREE:



O'Dell: "Arterton in seek-and-destroy mode now. She's after Rachelle immediately. LeFevre still looking buzzed from the last round and Gems seeking to take full advantage. She's coming forward behind that heavy Front Street jab, walking the sturdy redhead down and banging away with that big right..."



Cassie: "I think this is where Arterton is at her absolute best. She does a lot of things very well, as you'd expect from a champion, but, she finishes as well as just about anyone."



O'Dell: "And, that's definitely on the menu right now. Gems backing up LeFevre again and again. Rachelle game. Firing back when she can, trying to stabilize her front, but taking a ton of fire. Good left hook from Arterton forces the Canadian to cover up and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND and DOWN GOES LEFEVRE!"



Tess: "Split the gloves with that puppy and blew the redhead right to her back."



O'Dell: "Arterton quickly to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Rachelle rolls to her belly. Trying to get to hands and knees. Six. Seven. Eight. LeFevre on all fours...and slumps back down! Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO3 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"



McCarthy: "Ho. Hum. Another Dancing Hooker beats another Tomato Can."



AFTER:



O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"



Tess: "I have our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gems, she surprised you in the first, but it didn't take you long to turn it around."



Gemma (shaking her head): "Shouldn't have been surprised, because she's strong and she can hit. But, I'm not used to girls coming right at me like that. Not good for their health, you know?"



Tess: "When you got her in the second, you were just single-minded..."



Gemma (nodding): "Absolutely. A girl like her, with that kind of power, when you can get them out, you get them out. Because, she's always got a puncher's chance. So, the faster you can finish, the better. And, I finished as quickly as I could."
