BEFORE:
"Yes," says Tracy with a smile, "I've had a lot of success here at Asylum, but, that's not a surprise, because I've had a lot of success, period. Chloe's a challenge for me, no doubt, but, I've faced bigger challenges and come out on top."
"Tracy's as good as anyone I've fought," says Chloe with a nod. "Yes, ANYone, so, I'll have to be on my game tonight, and I will be."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Blitzkrieg Bop' by the Ramones, and that can only mean that one-quarter of the Bazz 'Fantastic Four' at bantamweight, Tracy Spiridakos, is on her way to the ring."
McCarthy: "'Fantastic Four'? THAT bunch? Maybe Munn and I should have a nickname as the Sceej bantams..."
Tess: "Aren't you RETIRED?"
Cassie: "She retires and unretires like most people change socks."
McCarthy: "Shut UP, Scabbo. 'The Terrific Twosome', that might work. 'The Perfect Pair', because, we both have great pairs..."
O'Dell (sighing): "Tracy into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Bazz corner crew to reveal that white two-piece we've seen before and that's 'Uh Oh' you hear behind us, and here comes the singer of that tune, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"
McCarthy: "'The Mondo Match'..."
Tess: "The Whatnow?"
McCarthy: 'The Titanic Team'..."
Cassie: "Fans, this could go on all night..."
O'Dell: "Bennet into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that blue bikini we've seen before, and the crowd appreciative as usual. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess favors Chloe. Mac?"
McCarthy: "'The Big League Brace'..."
O'Dell: "MAC!"
McCarthy: "WHAT?"
O'Dell: "A PICK, please!"
McCarthy: "Both of them are overrated and Munn and I could starch them both in TWO rounds, but, I suppose Spiridakos..."
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "You KNOW I'm goin' with my girl Tracy!"
O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Ladies getting going early, setting up in the center of the ring and exchanging hard shot. Both of these fighters very physical and they're bringing that in the early going. Good left hook from Chloe and TRACY ROCKS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND!"
Cassie: "Perfectly-timed right hand from Tracy and Bennet is in BIG TROUBLE!"
O'Dell: "No question about it. Chloe nearly went down and now Spiridakos going to town on the wobbly Front Streeter. Tracy has a history of huge performances here at Asylum and she's looking to add to that list right now. She's got Chloe backed into the ropes and taking, and the Canadian is giving just about everything in the arsenal!"
McCarthy: "Here's hoping she finishes this thing right now, so I don't have to watch any more of this."
O'Dell: "Tracy doing her level best to do that. She's getting off with both hands and ringing Chloe up again and again. Referee not going to watch much more of this. Bennet not doing much and she's taking a TON of fire. Ten seconds to go in the round. ANOTHER good right from Tracy, and there's the bell. Big opening round for Spiridakos."
Tess: "Shades of the Dennings fight, when she got off to the fast start and never looked back. Tracy up 10-9, but she has much more than a one-point advantage right now."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Second round underway and Spiridakos taking Bennet to the proverbial woodshed. Tracy's got Chloe buzzed and she's taking full advantage of it, backing her up with hard shot, keeping her on both the defensive and the back foot. Bennet trying to firm up her front here, but can't do it."
Cassie: "There are a lot of things that Tracy does well, but, as we've seen right here at Asylum several times, the thing she might be best at is pressing an advantage."
O'Dell: "And, she's certainly showing plenty of ability to do that right now. She's all OVER Bennet, backing her up repeatedly, making her take a ton of leather. Chloe, for her part, shipping the shell and staying afloat, but, there's not much else positive happening for the American at the moment."
Tess: "If she gets out of this round, it will be a positive, the way things are going."
O'Dell: "No question about that. Spiridakos just dominant right now. Everything working. She's landing heavy leather with both hands, shaking Bennet again with a right hook there. Ten seconds to go in the round. Good right hand for Tracy and there's the bell. Shutout for Spiridakos in the second."
McCarthy: "And, it's 20-18, Tracy and this IS starting to look like a rerun of the Dennings fight."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Into the third and Spiridakos continuing to dominate. She's backing Bennet up with hard, accurate stuff, keeping Chloe on the defensive, testing those legs and shaking them here and there. American again trying to fire back, slow this offensive down, but she's still buzzed and Tracy's still taking advantage of that."
Cassie: "Credit to Chloe here for still being on her feet, because most bantams would be down and out by now after the punishment she's taken."
O'Dell: "Cold comfort, however, because Spiridakos is just HAMMERING her as she has been since that big right hand in the first round. Bennet being forced back toward the ropes. Managed to stay off them in the second, but she's pinned again here in the third. Tracy winging away looking for the 'off' switch..."
McCarthy: "Matter of time until she finds it. Just a matter of time."
O'Dell: "GOOD right hand by Tracy there and it shook Chloe. Referee looking in again. Bennet now firing back with a good combination, best punches we've seen from her since the first. And there's a BIG exchange! Both fighters landed hard shot in that one! Fifteen seconds left in the round. Tracy another combination that sent sweat flying from Chloe's head and there's the bell. Spiridakos and wide."
Tess: "30-27, Tracy, now. Not only is she in control, she's built a big early lead."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Tracy again after Chloe, coming forward behind the jab. Bennet holding ground now and banging back and we've got a FIREFIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! Both ladies sitting down on punches and they are trading some absolute BOMBS right now!"
Tess: "Bennet knows she's got to do something to slow Tracy down, and she now appears to have enough leg to set her feet and hold her ground."
O'Dell: "But, there's a price to be paid on both sides, because both of these beauties are landing some big punches right now and neither is willing to back up a step. Spiridakos determined to keep the initiative and Chloe determined to wrest it from her. BIG right hand Tracy and there's a BOOMING right from Bennet in response!"
Cassie: "Crowd getting into this thing in a big way now!"
O'Dell: "Indeed, it is, roar building as each big shot is landed. There's a short left hook from Tracy that got Chloe's attention and Bennet responds with a big right that snap's back Spiridakos' head! Final seconds of an action-packed round ticking off and ANOTHER big exchange sends sweat flying at the bell. First close round of the fight. Bennet."
McCarthy: "And, she definitely needed it. Still down 39-37 after four."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Fifth underway and they're right back at it. Both bantams trying to impose will here and neither willing to be imposed upon. Big shots being exchanged in the center of the ring, and Spiridakos and Bennet both landing their share of the heavy leather. Chloe backed up a step via a booming right from Tracy..."
Tess: "RIGHT HAND, CHLOE!"
O'Dell: "Bennet a short right hand and Spiridakos is hurt! Tracy's knees gave a shimmy after that right hand and now it's CHLOE who's all in looking to finish. Spiridakos in retreat for the first time all night. Bennet now winging away with both hands, driving her rival back into the ropes..."
McCarthy: "Spiridakos with the guard high, looking to ride this out."
O'Dell: "And, Bennet going to make that ride as uncomfortable as possible. She's throwing everything she has at Tracy, going body and then right back to the head, looking for the one big shot that will end this thing. Spiridakos rolling with, picking punches off, playing excellent defense right to the bell. It's Bennet wide in the fifth, but Spiridakos stays on her feet and in the lead."
Cassie: "It's 48-47 Tracy at the half, and it's already been a heck of a fight."
ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "Bennet right back after Tracy. Canadian giving a little ground here, trying to get the legs working, wants to stay off square. American aggressive, stepping to, banging some body, then back to the head. She wants Spiridakos in a firefight and she's forcing one, cornering her rival and tossing heavy leather..."
Tess: "RIGHT HAND, BENNET! Tracy's hurt!"
O'Dell: "Another straight right from Chole, and how Spiridakos stayed up after that one is anyone's guess. That was an absolute BOMB and it's taken its toll. Canadian wobbly, quickly forced back to the ropes, where Bennet's going all in again looking to finish. Again, Spiridakos taking, trying to hang on..."
Cassie: "Again, she's rolling with, leaning back in the ropes, riding the storm out."
O'Dell: "That, she is. Meanwhile, Bennet calling in the reserves and throwing everything she has at her rival. Tracy tying up now, but shoved off and NAILED with a short right hook that shook her again. Final seconds of the round ticking away, and there's the bell. Shutout, Bennet."
McCarthy: "That makes things all even at 57. And, again, J-Mac or Livvy Munn would have had either of these bozos out of there by now."
ROUND SEVEN:
O'Dell: "Bennet again after Spiridakos in what's been a tale of two fights, Tracy controlling the first three rounds and, after a close fourth, Chloe having dominated the last two. Canadian trying to slow things down, stabilize her front, but Bennet continuing to back her up with hard shot..."
Cassie: "Tracy landing some good punches of her own now, though."
O'Dell: "She is, indeed. After being routed the last two rounds, she's managing some offense. For her part, Chloe trying to keep this roll going, continuing to commit on her punches. GOOD right hand counter from Tracy and a BOOMING right from Chloe and DOWN GOES SPIRIDAKOS!"
McCarthy: "This thing is OVER! She is NOT getting up from that!"
O'Dell: "Tracy dropped to her right side. Bennet quickly to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Spiridakos rolling to her belly. Six. Seven. Bennet watching as the Canadian pushes to hands and knees. Eight. Nine...TRACY COLLAPSES BACK TO THE CANVAS! TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO7 in comeback fashion is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"
Tess: "You know, Bennet's developing a Theron-like way of rallying from big holes...or, these days, an Upton-like way."
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, this thing did not start well for you..."
Chloe (shaking her head): "My fault. I KNOW she's a fast starter, and, once she gets rolling, she can bury you. I needed to be better early, not let her get going like that, but, it's easier said than done, because she's as good as anybody I've faced."
Tess: "How did you get it turned around?"
Chloe: "Just kept at it. Kept working. I knew I was in a hole, but I had time to work my way out. So, I got to work, and I got the job done."
Tess: "What's next for you?"
Chloe (shrugging): "Just keep working hard and keep getting better. Oh, and I'm taking this girl to dinner, because she's a heck of a fighter."
