BEFORE: One might say both these cougars share an "unfinished business" in the BBU as former AWUBA super bantamweight champion Dannii Minogue once brutalized the current flyweight title holder Cheryl Cole twice and still claims she can get the job done against the high-flying Geordie stunner. On the other hand we have the long-time Black Eyed Peas lead singer who once defeated the likes of Michelle Keegan and Hannah Spearritt only to suffer a soul-crushing loss to the otherwise mediocre Perrie Edwards on her UK boxing scene comeback earlier this July. BBU TV's Kate Abdo is painfully honest about that result and calls Fergie's redemption appearance as "one bridge too far" based on Minogue's devastating power supply which handed Cheryl Cole two of the most lopsided losses the division has seen since BBU's inception seven years ago.

Fergie wears a black bikini set and red gloves. Blonde hair long & straight. Dannii Minogue wears a light blue bikini set and golden gloves. Long dark brown hair in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Minogue wants to blow the doors off the American as quickly as possible and jumps into immediate jabbing assault aimed upstairs; Fergie shows superior footwork skills in the early exchange but fails to land her punches and gets outworked in close range which only fuels the brunette's work rate down the stretch. Both women waste little time in following the offensive script but Dannii is the more efficient of the two and eventually forces the younger singer into defensive circles. Fergie still tries to swing one from the back foot but misses badly and is fortunate the Aussie doesn't punish her with a straight-forward counter-punching drill. Dannii's precision drops as we enter the final minute and she gets beaten for pace as the American dances herself out of trouble to avoid getting pummelled back to the corner.

Round 2:
Dannii's a natural aggressor in the ring and Fergie tries her best to slug it out with the Aussie champ but she gets blasted across the lips during a hectic close range tussle and wobbles on her heels which enables the older singer to cash in with more pinpoint jabbing. However Minogue misses the hooking swing and bounces off the top of Fergie's shoulder allowing her to escape from imminient danger again. The blonde's footwork is truly superior in the opening stages of the fight but she's not gonna win the judges' approval dancing her way into a stalemate. Maybe she tries to tease the brunette into a suicidal attack albeit one doesn't need to send extra invitation to see Minogue hassle her opponents around the ring. The Aussie barks and shouts at the retreating American but still gets caught with a late counter assault as Fergie does well to beat her to the post and she hugs the midriff with a leather frenzy deep into the final minute which stuffs the AWUBA champion in the corner as the clock expires.

Round 3:
Both cougars tangle in another high octane slugging contest and Fergie clubs the older woman on both temples to wobble her on the heels before driving one straight up the gut for a good measure. Ugh! Minogue loses her breath for a moment and that's enough for the American to slam a nasty uppercut on the chin followed by a scything cross on the lips... Dannii's arms drop to the side as she tries to adjust her footing but Fergie hauls in another hook on the nose AND DUMPS THE BRUNETTE ON HER BACK to really stir up the betting odds pot! Very few people inside the Cardiff Arena saw this one coming especially following the blonde's terrible showing vs Perrie Edwards the other day. However as much attention is focused on Dannii's offense, she does have her defensive flaws and she simply got blitzed by a solid dose of leather in quick succession and the punching resistance always fades with age. On the other hand the Aussie veteran is FURIOUS when she gets up at seven and demands immediate revenge. She literally shoves the referee away and leaps onto the blonde with a jabbing galore only to get nailed with a swift counter hook on the left eye.. Ugh! If only Fergie could land another head hunting combo, she'd have the brunette fish-tailing into a heap but she can't quite land that all-important strike and gets wrapped in a slugging chaos during the final seconds. Minogue charges ahead with mostly wayward punches and ignores the bell to deliver one ultra late blow straight on the blonde's nose. Naughty, naughty but she escapes the referee's wrath for whatever reason!

Round 4:
All hell breaks loose seconds into the fourth as Dannii's seeking an outright kill and beats the American for speed to connect with a nasty uppercut on the jaw. Even Fergie didn't anticipate such a quick recovery from the Aussie cougar but it has to be said, the knockdown in the third was a little fortunate in first place. There's no luck involved when the blonde eats a faceful of close range leather though and Dannii's legendary power supply that rendered Cheryl Cole into a punchbag is on full display here... she snaps the American's head back and just pours more punches like there's no tomorrow. Fergie gets stuck on her heels and stumbles backwards amid painful yelps when the brunette's head hunting gear finds more success... Minogue simply pounds the helpless foe back to the ropes where she switches downstairs and harpoons the liver area to keep the fellow singer covered behind a tight if leaky guard. Fergie just can't punch herself out of trouble and gets roasted in the corner... Kate Abdo is stunned the plucky veteran somehow avoids going down but at the bell she slumps against the ropes and looks drained physically. That's a very bad sign as Minogue openly vows to knock her out during the fifth.

Round 5:
The Down Under entourage doesn't have a crystal ball but Dannii reigns supreme here in the fifth and splits the blonde's mitts to open the flood gates... she knocks the embattled American back and takes full advantage of the physical damage she'd caused in the previous round... a brutally effective drive staggers Fergie along the ropes and even as the younger woman tries to swing one from the back foot, Dannii beats her for pace again and unloads the face-bruising assault. She cuts the blonde up with the initial hooking combo before forcing her mitts into her mouth... Ugh! Fergie stops all these punches with her face and shimmy shakes against the turnbuckle where Dannii lands the left-hander that renders her opponent into misty-eyed train wreck... Fergie just can't soak up all this heat anymore AND SLIDES DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE with eyes closed. She rests against the post for a while before slowly rolling down to her right and she's been thoroughly destroyed here, folks! The Aussie cougar still has the juice and climbs the ropes long before the merciless count reaches ten to officially crown the winner! KO5 Dannii Minogue!!!

AFTER: That was a truly bulldozing finish from the former AWUBA champion who stiff-arms Father Time one more time. And she really wants to mix it up with the current BBU flyweight queen to complete the hat-trick of wins however her pleas will most likely fall on deaf Lioness ears according to Kate Abdo. Cheryl Cole has indeed moved onto another level - X Factor rivalry and otherwise - and Minogue might want to settle for mere rankings wins to keep her AWUBA/ACB Hall of Fame mojo alive. There's always Bonnie Sveen available - the one girl who can probably beat Dannii for outright punching power.

Meanwhile it's hard to judge where Fergie goes from here next. She looked in better shape compared to her Edwards comeback disaster but she soaked up so much abuse down the stretch, it's almost ineviteable she will sit some time out! Is the appearance fee really worth the risk anymore? However it would be a shame to see such an exciting cougar go up in smoke like a random tomato can so we might not have heard the last of Ms. Ferguson is this league yet!
