BEFORE:
Kyra getting cocky in pre-fight interview, almost dismissing her opponent’s chances tonight. Well, *almost*. “Sasha’s great, but I mean c’mon… just look at us both…” As if for emphasis, Kyra stands to her feet and gestures down at her battle-ready body, toned in classic red bikini and ready to rumble. By contrast, the audience can't help but peer over at the other end of the table, where a visibly embarrassed Sasha Pietersen is trying to look even smaller than she already is. “It’s obvious who’s gonna dominate tonight.”

Sasha clearing her throat when asked for a rebuttal, but the first squeak out of her lips doesn't help her case. “Y-You know what they say about giants, Kyra - they freakin’ fall the hardest…” Sasha concludes, puffing up her chest for emphasis.

For all the rhetoric, both girls civil at the weigh ins as they pose for the cameras. Kyra donning orange gloves to go with her two-piece bikini, whilst Sasha going for white gloves, black bikini top and denim skinny shorts, her toned midriff getting some catcalls of its own from the audience, making the younger girl smile in appreciation. Here we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

Round 1:
Kyra putting some power behind her initial punches, intending to back up her words. Sasha really does look kitten-like as she flinches from wild hooks thrown at her face early on. Kyra smiling each time this happens, only serving to boost her ego, whilst Sasha remains on the retreat for majority of the round, combination of fear and uncertainty causing her to lose big against the Vixen who keeps up the pressure quite consistently. Kyra scoring a multitude of jabs to Sasha’s guard - a few even grazing the face. By contrast, Sasha only tap tap tapping jabs into the body and occasionally spanking leather on the forearms. End of round 1 arguably not as convincing a win for either girl but Kyra still remaining cocky.

Round 2:
Santoro trying more of the same bullying tactics in the first half - again seems to get her ahead in terms of points, rocking Sasha backwards with a power punch or two straight to middle of her guard, almost shoving her off balance for a while. But then Sasha seems to find her footing and come back with counter jabbing to Kyra’s face. The Vixen preoccupied with knocking her downstairs that she neglects her defences. Sasha eager to exploit the loopholes, getting out of the way of heavy blasting and then striking surgical with her jab jab jab to cheek and chin. Punches not *really* hurting Kyra at this stage but doing wonders to batter down her ego - she’s left red-faced both figuratively and literally when Sasha’s corner breaks into encouraging applause for their girl at the bell.

Round 3:
For some reason Kyra decides to hold back this round, perhaps wanting to reevaluate her strategy. *shakes head* it’s bad news for the brunette as she should learn to stick with what she’s good at, and hanging back to play defensive is not one of those things. Kyra allows Sasha to come to her, and the PLP starlet eagerly obliges, firing lightning jabs in every direction, hitting guard but a lot getting through and slamming into face and tummy. Sasha dictating terms here as she circles and sweeps the bigger, less manoeuvrable girl about, hinging and swinging. Kyra trying to fight back of course but she can't quite pin Sasha down, though she knows she just needs one lucky punch to pluck the smaller girl off her feet. Sasha continues battering the forearms until they’re red and sore, finishes up the round with a one-two combo deep into Kyra’s gut, which stun her in place as her body jerks backwards, but the bell stops Sasha from following through with more abuse.

Round 4:
Kyra switches back into attack mode upon insistence of her trainers, and boy does she take the advice quite literally, comes charging at Pietersen at ramming speed hoping to catch her off guard. Wild hooks land on either side of Sasha’s head as she tries to cover up and better yet, get her ass out of there, but Kyra’s bulky frame and side-stepping cutting her off at every turn. Sasha gives up after her third attempt and goes into assault mode herself, starts to batter Kyra’s body some more with rapid punches jerking up into the chest and belly, but it only seems to incense Kyra further… Sasha’s face WHIPPED, WHAPPED side to side as Santoro finally scores with a double hook-whammy to either cheek. Like a leaf in the wind Sasha goes flying right, stumbling into the ropes, then covering up when Kyra steps up and chops another combo up into her body. Pietersen in trouble just like that… but girl built small and sturdy, keeps her cool and continues to absorb the abuse on the ropes, jabbing up into Kyra’s chin in the last few seconds of the round like playing peekaboo, irritating Santoro by reminding her that she’s still fighting. Kyra taking the round but she’s not smiling - knows she could have put her down away right there in the middle but didn't manage to.

Round 5:
If Kyra’s gonna steal the show then this round’s the one to do it…. Kyra’s corner looking like they agree as they goad her into charging full steam when the bell sounds. Sasha however looking light on her feet - fresh even - able to side-step the charging bull just at the last moment, letting Santoro CRASH face-first into the hard turnbuckle! Shocked expression evident as Kyra spins around to face her opponent, only to eat a right hand from Sasha to the face, then another and another as Pietersen steps in and WAILS away, trying to deliver as much damage as she can… Kyra getting rocked left right center in the corner - she tries to cover up but Sasha simply works her body with multiple short uppercut digging into those taut abs of hers, as though screaming “YOU AREN’T BETTER THAN ME!!”. Sasha at the same time avoiding Kyra’s wild swings, ducking and swerving, taking advantage of Kyra’s erratic behaviour to open up more of her body to pounding. Final minute and Kyra has had enough, panting and gasping as she resorts to clinching up with Sasha to stop the punishment. Here, she finds some relief at least, using her heavier body to control the action and slowly shoving her backwards and out of the torture corner. But the damage seems to be done already… Bell rings and Sasha angrily shoving back at the brunette’s shoulders off of her, then a smile breaks across her face when she realises what a great f*cking* round she had. Kyra left staggering back to her own corner, red welts covering… well… everywhere.

Round 6:
Here we go with the sixth, and Sasha might be thinking for the first time that she can actually win this sh*t. She uses her agility and speed.to her advantage, two legs crossing the canvas in a mere second and then shocking Kyra with errant right hand out of nowhere, but Santoro managed to put up her guard in nick of time… Now Sasha’s eyes widen at that devious look in Kyra’s. Left hook to the body folds her in half like a paper towel, and then another right hook smashes the other way into her other side, torquing in and grazing her back. Sasha obviously rocked, stumbling right, still clutching her body - Kyra chasing, on her tail, continuing to plant leather on her sides and sweaty back. Sasha meets the ropes soon enough and has no choice but to turn around, just in time to see a looming Santoro jumping in with a GIANT Superman punch…!— IT MISSES when Sasha weaves left out of pure instinct! Instead, both girls’ bodies collide on the ropes with meaty SMACK, but Kyra is the one groaning as we realise Sasha had her gloves held out tight in defensive posture, which ended up piercing the Vixen’s chest and tummy as she came flying in. Kyra the one backing away slowly, and Sasha grits her teeth and strikes when the iron is hot: peppering the body with lightning jabs and crosses, jerking her body left and right and pushing her back some more. Kyra gurgling, trying to cover up, but doesn't see right uppercut coming her way till it’s too late - Sasha snaps the head back in clean and clear fashion, eliciting loud groan from the Vixen, followed by even louder THUD as Kyra lands on her back in defeat! She’s completely knocked out!!

Official Decision: Sasha Pieterse defeats Kyra Santoro via KO6!

AFTER: Good god no one was expecting that outcome, if we’re being honest here. None the least Sasha herself, who’s blinking down at Kyra and still has both her arms held up high in solid guard. But then the roar of the crowd finally gets to her - her face breaks into a big smile when the referee raises one of her hands. A BIG match for Sasha Pietersen as she defeats a fellow, up-and-coming and very promising rookie, proving everyone who wrote her off wrong, especially the Vixen lying in a pool of her own sweat, chest heaving up and down, body completely broken.

“She had me worried for a while back there, but her first mistake was to underestimate me,” Sasha proudly beaming to reporters later in the interview. “Too many f*cking people have, to be honest. Well I’ve got news for you all: the Pretty Little Punchers are here to freakin’ stay!”

Kyra herself getting consoled in ring by stablemate Alyssa Lynch - she’s fighting back hard tears as she wonders how she can possibly end this win-lose-win-lose rollercoaster ride she’s been on for the past year or so. Alyssa heard encouraging her, saying that she had fought well tonight, then pushing the cameras out of the way as she escorts her friend backstage, away from the glares of the crowd.
