VICTORIA'S SECRET WAR IN HEAVEN PRELIMINARY ROUND 2

1. Martha Hunt vs Karlie Kloss

(Words: Cas, Results: Lookout!)

Martha:
(28, 5’11, FCBA Debut, BBU Free Agent)

Karlie:
(25, 5’11, 8:2 FCBA, The Fighting Academy)

BEFORE:
Martha Hunt is coming off her first lost in her career but that was all the way over the other side of the Atlantic. But tonight, she arguably faces a much tougher opponent in the form of Karlie Kloss, a decorated up-and-comer in the Welterweight division who’s looking to this tournament to make up for just falling shy of the Welterweight title a few fights ago.

“Hmph - maybe Martha’s new to this, but the Welterweight picture’s kinda full at this moment. Yours truly (and a few other girls) are taking the scene by storm, so I would say Martha’s chances tonight are close to a big, fat zero…” Karlie sounding off confidently to the reporters after having burst through the pink curtains wearing nothing but red lingerie and black gloves.

One can’t deny the truth of her words - Karlie’s been making a name for herself due to being a glorified VS Runway Angel as well as appearing in a slew of magazine and online advertisements recently, making her name recognition ubiquitous and having the fans cheer her on enthusiastically.

Martha on the other hand has been slowly building her own street cred - not many know her but recently appearing in the Chainsmoker’s hit music video, Paris, has done some wonders for her public image. Hunt emerges from behind the curtains looking equally if not more confident, beige bra and bottoms showing off her toned body as she smiles and holds up orange gloves to the assembled crowd.

“Regardless of what Kloss is saying - it sounds like she’s scared of me,” Martha comments to the media at ringside, noticing Karlie pacing up and down in pre-fight scowl at the blonde’s comments, before continuing: “I’m going to do my best here tonight. It’s going to be a good fight!”

Girls square in the middle of the ring - Martha’s short blonde hair contrasting nicely with Kloss’ strawberry locks tied up in battle bun. Referee asks them to touch gloves and they reluctantly do so. Here we go with ten rounds of Welterweight action in the first match of the evening!

ROUND 1:
First round sees cautious footwork as girls get to know each other, probing from afar with jabs but generally a slow minute that’s sort of an anti-climax to the great fanfare we experienced moments earlier. Perhaps Martha is still an unknown variable and that prevents Kloss from going in hitting hard. But, not so for Martha, who decides to kick things up a notch in the middle and just fly straight at Kloss, jamming a flurry of punches into the cheek in shock attack that leaves her defenceless briefly, enough time for Hunt to plant more leather on her toned body before Kloss gets away looking stunned by that blitz. Hunt having a wide library of previous fight footage from Kloss camp and this perhaps enabled her to do her homework on her opponent tonight.

ROUND 2:
If anything, girls start the second even *more* defensively, especially for Kloss, who twitches and shakes at the slightest movement from her blonde rival. Martha exploits, makes sudden advancements sprinkled with feints, managing to land a few jabs on the veteran’s nose and body, before Kloss ROTATES HER HEAD with sudden hook from hell!! Martha walked right into that one!! She’s stumbling to the side, eyes wide with SHOCK but Kloss is right on her, timing more hooks to the face with the ecstatic cheers of her fans in the crowd egging her on, slamming blow after blow into Hunt’s face until the rookie can't take it anymore and is thrown off her feet and onto her side!! DOMINANCE is the game here with a KNOCKDOWN in the second minute of the second round - wow, she’s not a title-contender for nothing, folks!

Martha’s pride however still intact as the blonde bangs her fists on the canvas and resolves to slowly rise back up, no matter what it takes. Kloss heading to corner, already dreaming about how to celebrate later, but cut short as she watches Martha recover by 7. Here we go again with a minute left on the clock. Kloss charging in, as expected, her confidence regained. Martha absorbing on the ropes, getting her tummy pounded on and then her forearms as Karlie tries to put her away but doesn't quite succeed. Crowd audibly disappointed on the big girl’s behalf but nothing else she can do until the next round.

ROUND 3:
Here comes Kloss again, advancing early and hoping to trap her rival in the corner and end the round before it begins… Martha having none of that, keeping her at bay with more long jab jab jab to the face and then chest, frustrating Karlie, especially at this juncture. Kloss keeping up the pressure, firing back jabs of her own but they lack venom and land harmlessly on Martha’s guard. Looks like the newcomer is slowly turning the tide here in the third, plants another three punches on Karlie’s body before getting out of the way of a return hook to the face. Kloss left panting and recovering in one corner of the ring, her mind reeling about needing to change up her strategy required here.

ROUND 4:
Whatever Karlie’s been doing, she’s told to keep doing it, and next round sees Kloss on even meaner streak than before when she amps up the pressure despite signs of weariness on her face. Martha scooting away as usual, using hit-and-run tactics, but perhaps she too is running low on gas, gets herself trapped when Kloss rushes in on her at unfortunate moment. Crowd provides the ramp up in excitement as Kloss WAILS AWAY on a shocked Hunt, left right big hooks crash up top and completely demolish her unready guard… Kloss follows up with another hook to the face that pivots the short-haired blonde back to the ropes. Martha now not even fighting back as Karlie goes to work on body and ANOTHER wrecking uppercut into the chin! Can she hold on this time?? NO she doesn’t... Martha CRUMPLES to canvas with a shudder and wilt! It’s over!

Official Decision: Karlie Kloss defeats Martha Hunt via KO4!!

AFTER:
A spectacular performance tonight with Kloss showing everyone else backstage whom they really have to fear in this tournament. Karlie smiling broadly as she acknowledges the rafters at all four corners of the ring, blowing kisses and flaunting her remarkable body. Martha is being brought about with smelling salts, look of dazed confusion evident on fluttering eyes. Kloss pays her no further attention - her statement’s been made and made exceedingly well enough, strutting back down the ramp back and leaving the next competitors of the evening wondering about more than each other!
