BEFORE:
Our last fight of the evening sees this year’s host nation’s home crowd out in force - after two of their girls being beaten down by the ‘foreign and despicable’ West, the crowds are screaming in unintelligible language for their last, great salvation: newcomer and pixie-faced Ming Xi. She’s one of the newest girls to make the VS line up, joining her compatriots Sui He and Liu Wen in becoming the first ever Chinese models to grace the VS runway.

Her opponent tonight, however, is a doozy - new to the sport but goddess in her own right, Devon Windsor turned many heads at her debut all those years ago, the platinum blonde making everyone question where the f*ck she’s been all these years of their miserable lives.

Another classic East vs West match-up made impressive when both girls face off in the center of ring and look almost the exact same height, no mean feat but someone like Ming. But putting Devon on her back is gonna be more difficult than merely standing up to her, and the German beauty knows that she may not be the fan favorite here, but all that matters are her friends Volks and Wagen as she holds up two fists to pose for the cameras.

Ming has her jet-black hair tied up in geisha-bun, body cloaked in red velvet lingerie, whilst Devon is wearing pearly-white bikini, hair tied back in ponytail. Let’s go with the final fight of the night!

ROUND 1:
For all intents and purposes, both girls still considered rookies of the ring tonight, and it shows in the opening minutes of the fight: Ming and Devon showing plenty of inertia to get in each other’s faces, taking their time with establishing long jabs and rarely showing a bigger punch. Devon possesses the firepower here whilst the lankier Ming the speed, and the Chinese girl utilises her strength a little more effectively in the opening round, constantly advancing and retreating out of reach, even for Devon. As a result, German girl receives plenty of punches directed to the head, frustrating her and forcing her to focus on defence more than offense. Ming proudly driven forward by the cheers of the home crowd, relishing each time she lands a crisp blow to the blonde’s button of a nose. Devon not entirely hurt by the end of three minutes, just a sore and reddening nose and pride in even worse shape.

ROUND 2:
Devon listens to the advice of her corner and tries more aggressive tactics early on, but Ming is still in top-form, scooting circles around her opponent as though the Chinese lass knew tai-chi or some other kungfu secret, evading with expert footwork, and not before planting a glove or two into Windsor’s cheek. Devon gives up trying to chase her mid-round, and let’s face it - she’s looking incredibly clumsy and lumberous as she tried to anyways. Instead, Devon holding up, arms covering the face in tight guard, intently goading Ming to come to her. It seems to work - Ming taking the bait and getting too close for comfort - Devon’s power hooks having some effect in the final few seconds when the blows blast into her guard and send her staggering sideways and back, but few of them connecting directly anyhow. Result is Ming taking the round wide for second in row, though the Chinese girl needs to be careful not to throw away her advantage too early.

ROUND 3:

Ming Xi slowing down slightly as she continues to have her way with Devon for the first minute of the third round, but she *has* to be getting slightly frustrated with the insistent jabbing not seeming to have made any dent in the blonde’s resolve. Devon’s face and body are turning a bright shade of pink by this point but good gosh the German beauty is chugging along and continuing to pressure Ming about the ring. Sound strategy it seems, as in the 2nd minute Ming Xi gets caught on the face by a wicked right hook that whips her head to the side and sends spittle flying into the night air. Ming stumbles and that’s all Devon needs - steps in and CHOPS another hook into her guard, disorientating her some more and sends her sprawling to the ropes. Ming letting out mixture of curses and grunting in Mandarin as she tries to recover her balance and get the f*ck outta there, but eats another one-two underhook to the gut before the referee steps in and declares the end of the round. Devon finally scoring here and by all accounts she lost the round slightly AGAIN, but that doesn’t stop the grin from forming on her face as she heads back to corner, knowing she’s finally punted one foot in the door.

ROUND 4:
Ming Xi built like a paper tiger - those big blows hurt her badly apparently. Now, Devon barreling down on her almost immediately and the Chinese girl simply can’t muster the energy to get away in time, covers up as the big hooks land left and right, buffeting her around and then bending her body in half when Devon decides to plunder the tummy instead. Ming though not yet dead on her feet, throwing flurries of jabs into the blonde’s face each time she tries to create distance, reminding her that she’s still very much alive and biting as hard as she can, even opening up Devon’s nose to red works during the last thirty seconds of the round. Crowd cheers as the Chinese girl *finally* seems to make some headway with Devon’s nose bloodied and her game thrown off albeit temporarily. Still, Devon takes the round back for the first time in the fight, and both corners looking worried that this fight could go either way.

ROUND 5:

Devon surprisingly smiling though as the round starts, pieces of paper stuffed up two nostrils to stem the bleeding and shocking Ming’s resolve - Chinese girl had expected Devon to be back to easy pickings at the start of the fifth. Not so, Devon like a dynamo as she quickly gets in Ming’s face again, now stuffing crosses right hands into the middle of her forearms, trying to break the guard apart. Ming is now mewing slightly as her arms are tortured - not sure how long more she can sustain the punishment. Right uppercut up into the belly seems to make the decision for her, folding her in half as more blows come hard and fast puh puh puh puh, Devon drumming her fist on her waistline in consecutive fashion. Ming gurgling, lurches forward and clinches up with the blonde, but seems to be like putty in her hands, easily wrestled about the ring almost like a ragdoll caught in a lioness’ arms, Devon continuing to dig right hands into the poor girl’s side. Dominant round for Windsor as she surges ahead where her counterpart clearly lagging behind, having run out of steam.

ROUND 6:
Ming looks distraught and disparate when the bell rings - she has the looks and the agility, but she has a *long* way to go if she wants to compete with the power punches of the industry. Ming barely stirring from her stool when Devon is almost in front of her… another one-two hook to either side of the face is met with little resistance. Ming again just flies into the ropes, hangs there panting hard. Devon mercifully strides forward looking for killing blow: left-right to tummy draws out a moan from Ming’s lips, then UPPERCUT TO THE CHIN sends her jaw squeezed back shut! Ming crumples to the canvas and stays there!! It’s all over folks!

Official Decision: Devon Windsor defeats Ming Xi via KO6!

AFTER:
Devon Windsor bringing an end to our event in spectacular fashion, although Ming’s fans in the crowd are screaming bloody murder at this point, rushing to the metal gantries and pointing and gesturing wildly at the ring. Devon recuperating on her own feet, taking deep breaths, and for the first time tonight looks winded. She acknowledges the wild clamoring ringside by going to check on Ming Xi, who’s being helped gingerly to her corner. Devon leans in and touches foreheads with her, whispering some words of encouragement, with Ming nodding sullenly and squeezing tears out from her eyes. Who can blame her or her fans, really - with this fight concluded it means that there’ll be no homegrown stars on Chinese turf come December, with all three VS girls eliminated in the first round.

Devon holds up a celebratory fist to the crowd and receives mixture of boos and cheers, but she doesn’t let that faze her. Come October she will have an even bigger test ahead by facing off against Romee Strijd, who just dominated Olga Kurylenko in the previous match with a first round KO.

Both newcomers will face off in the next round of the VS War in Heaven Boxing tourney coming to you mid-October from exotic South-East Asia! A big congrats to the victors tonight and we hope you will enjoy the rest of the evening. See you next time!
