BEFORE: Emilia Clarke's undisputed status as the Queen of Game of Thrones makes no impression on LCA's Selena Gomez whatsoever as the younger brunette knows she's got to worry about her own career prospects now that fellow Lioness Cheryl Cole has emerged as an elite competitor and seriously threatens to shake-up the internal pecking order of the Bradenton-based stable. Jessica Lowndes' recent slump has opened a hole where the Geordie singer fitted the best instead of Gomez. Some rumours link the 25 year old with a move up to bantamweight which is short on long-term solutions behind designated leader Minka Kelly but no firm decision is expected before the new season at the very least.

Round 1:
Emilia picks up where she left off vs Lena Headey, she wraps the singer into a feisty jabbing drive and lands several crisp shots up the middle, surprisingly exposing the fellow brunette's guard. The lanky Gomez lacks the mobility to avoid this leather rush and jumps into a slugging exchange that she's unable to sustain over the next couple of minutes. But Clarke's really in the groove here in the early stages and thumps a nasty left hook on Selena's eye to reel her onto the ropes where she adds the midsection assault to completely shut the younger brunette down come the final minute. Selena's superior range proves worthless as she's simply unable to stretch her elbows amid a relentless pounding from the British girl.

Round 2:
More fireworks from Clarke who picks off the taller brunette in the center of the ring and enforces another close range tangle thanks to her superior movements. Gomez is late to make the adjustements and must accept Emilia's slugging range but that doesn't end well just past the one minute mark when yet another left hook tears a patch under the American's eye and sends her into a tailspin on the ropes. Emilia yells out in delight when she notices the bloody mark and ups the intensity of her attacks to keep the singer caved in behind a high earmuff. Gomez tries to swing something from behind the guard but only grazes the Londoner's flesh and eats more leather over the top instead. This is a shockingly one-sided contest for now and a belting hook across the ribcage leaves Selena spitting out her mouthpiece in frustration at the bell while Clarke has every right to display that huge smile on her face!

Round 3:
There are no signs of fatigue carried over from the Headey fight and one has to wonder if the LCA entourage simply wanted to see Clarke out before mauling her into exhaustion later. However they simply couldn't predict such an aggressive performance from the Brit who keeps slicing through Selena's guard for the third round in succession. The slugging drill hasn't worked for the singer at all and she gets banged up to the ropes again before finally mounting a promising comeback. She lands a somewhat fortunate hook on Emilia's nose and outworks her in a spirited phone booth-like exchange which allows her to step away from the ropes come the two minute mark. She lasers in more jabs from the back foot and stops Emilia's aggressive push for the time being albeit the lack of a proper power supply results in minimal damage to Clarke's confidence and physical shape.

Round 4:
Emilia has pulled a wide lead on the cards but keeps hassling the taller brunette seemingly trying to either secure a whitewash or knock her out ASAP. However Selena finally finds her stride and avoids getting caught in another close range tussle. She works a steady single-hand jabbing to keep Clarke at bay and the English actress clearly struggles to make an impact in mid-distance which leads into numerous missed hooking attempts. Emilia would really love to tear another bloody patch on Selena's face but gets outworked in the jabbing exchange and yields real estate forcing the younger woman into a hectic chase come the final minute. This is a close call between the two but Selena is always a mili-second late with her approach and can't trounce the Londonder into the corner despite plenty of effort.

Round 5:
Selena has come alive in terms of agility and escapes an immediate rush from her opponent before drilling her on the chest with a powerful hook. Emilia's aggressive approach backfires for once and she gets half-spun to the side when the singer lands a hooking follow up on the left temple. Selena twists and turns to adjust and beats the actress for another quick hook which stuffs Clarke on her heels and allows the American to head hunt her thereafter. Several crisp punches now land straight up the middle and the Brit's guard looks suspect for the first time tonight but more importantly she gets backed into the turnbuckle where she gets picked off repeatedly during the second minute. It's a fortunate turn of events for the hitherto outclassed Gomez but she makes the most of it - like any aspiring elite contender should. She wraps Emilia under a proper leather barrage and the scowls at the bell no longer sound encouraging at all. Emilia has to catch her breath after soaking up plenty of facial abuse and despite Selena's lack of a substantial punching power, she surely felt it a lot during that one-sided closing period.

Round 6:
Emilia needs to resume the aggressive drill and enforce the close range stance if she's to tame the American's recovery but another misjudged approach ends in disaster quickly as Gomez busts her lip into a bleeding mess when she lands a nasty combo early in the sixth. A swift follow up knocks the Brit on her heels and she struggles to launch a counter from the back foot while Selena leans onto the front (left) leg and delivers the biggest hit of the night yet... she NAILS Clarke across the wounded lips and half-spins her into a dummy mode - yet another painful shriek adds to the Brit's trouble but not before Gomez drops her with a stacked uppercut on the exposed jaw... DOWN GOES THE MOTHER OF DRAGONS!!! Emilia was saddled on her heels before this last drive from the Texan brunette but the LCA turnaround is now complete! Selena hesitates for a while before shouting back at the fallen opponent however Emilia isn't done here yet! She scrambles back to her feet at seven and wipes some blood from her squashed lips while staring at the younger woman with shining eyes. It's uncertain how badly this knockdown has affected her but Selena herself makes sure that's no longer relevant when she rips a left cross up the middle moments after the command and adds another clubbing hook on the ear that sends Clarke into jobber legs... Uh-oh... the English girl is HURT and bellows out onto the ropes unable to keep her balance anymore... only the ropes prevent her from going down again and Gomez blasts another vicious cross on the swollen lips to make the actress scream out her loudest... another hook finds the left eye and slumps Emilia into more spasms... she doesn't raise her head anymore so she doesn't even notice when the REF PULLS GOMEZ OFF HER and escorts her back to the LCA corner. TKO6 Selena Gomez in come-from-behind fashion!!!

AFTER: That's a really tough way to lose a fight... Emilia was miles ahead on points after three rounds but somehow got stopped by Selena's incredible comeback. While the early aggressive drive was unexpected from the Game of Thrones lead heroine, she'd be best advised to keep plugging away at her foe until Selena simply couldn't take it anymore because it has worked for the Lookout Atlantics and worked out very well indeed. However the American survived the onslaught mentally more than physically - cue that deep gash under her eye - and as a former unified flyweight title challenger showed exactly why she's improved a great deal ever since joining the Lionesses and pushing Jessica Lowndes all the way in ultra-close Alpha battle. The artistic impression remains with Cheryl Cole though and Selena's quest to upstage the LCA flyweight pecking order is still on hold. Moreover, the lack of a truly big punch is one thing that keeps Gomez from browsing the bantamweight options for the time being.
