Leah Dizon vs. Marion Cotillard
(Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE:

A pair of aggressive brunette fighters getting together in this one, and the younger American, still looking for her first FCBA win, is determined to get it tonight. "I'm sick of this," she says, with a shake of the head. "I'm sick of losing. And, tonight's the night I get on track."

"This girl," says Marion with a shake of her own head. "She'll come after you. But, I know how to handle girls like that, as she's about to find out."

ROUND ONE:

No mystery about how this is going to go. Both women like to work forward behind the jab, so, it's no surprise that they square off early, looking to do just that. Neither can grab any canvas for a minute or so, however. And then, Dizon lands a NASTY combination that forces Cotillard to cover up and follows with a hard right hand that shakes the Frenchwoman! Marion wobbles and nearly goes down and Dizon is all in. She quickly forces the older woman back against the ropes and then spends the remainder of the round giving her a thorough beating. Cotillard takes the licking and keeps on ticking, but take a licking she does. Dizon lands punches in bunches, scoring with both hands right up to the bell. When it rings, Leah's grabbed the first round and plenty wide, and a wobbly Marion finds herself down 10-9 early.

ROUND TWO:

Dizon now all about the finish. She's after Cotillard from the opening seconds of the round, winging away with both hands, looking for the shot that will end it and EATING A RIGHT HAND COUNTER! Leah GOBSMACKED! Marion with a perfectly-timed rejoinder that leaves Dizon on rubber legs. And now it's Cotillard firing the heavy leather, backing up the younger brunette, trapping her on the cables and letting her have it. How quickly the fight has changed! Dizon seemed one good shot from claiming her first FCBA win and now she's taking on the ropes as the French beauty gets off lusty. Plenty of time left in the round and Cotillard so clinical and so patient anyway. She methodically picks Leah apart as the referee watches closely. Down the stretch Dizon doing very little and the ref seems ready to pounce, but the bell sounds before he does. It's Marion wide and we're even at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Cotillard walking Dizon down. She's using the left jab to set Leah up, then dropping hard right hands on her. The younger woman still wobbly from the last round forced to give ground, stay on the defensive, counter in spots. It's bitter stuff for Dizon, who was in control just a few short minutes ago. Now, she's taking leather, taking a licking, ROCKING MARION WITH A COUNTER OF HER OWN! Leah gets the feet set and lands a laser-guided straight right and Cotillard's legs do a shimmy! American immediately begins firing away with everything she has and DOWN GOES MARION! A short right hook the culprit as Leah drops the French beauty to her back. Dizon to a neutral corner. Referee begins the count. Cotillard unmoving. Down and out. It's OVER! And your winner by KO3 in back and forth fashion is Leah Dizon!

AFTER:

Dizon all smiles. She's scuffed, sure, but she's broken that maiden and that's all that matters at the moment. "I thought I had her in that first, and then I got a little sloppy," she admits with a smile. "But, when I got my chance at a comeback, I didn't waste it. I got the job done. And, this is just the start. Leah Dizon is on her way!"
