VICTORIA'S SECRET "WAR IN HEAVEN" TOURNAMENT PRELIMINARIES ROUND 3

1. Rachel Hilbert vs. Candice Swanepoel

(Words: Archer, Results: Lookout!)

Rachel:
(22, 5’10 (1.78 m), 1-0-0, 1 KO since 2017, Free Agent)

'Candice:
(29, 5’10 (1.78 m), 16-29-1, 9 KO since 2010, Foxfire Box

BEFORE:
Candice Swanepoel is looking sullenly at the younger Rachel Hilbert as they meet the press in prefight: “She may be younger than I am and I may not have the record of an Adriana Lima or Kate Upton, but I am not going lose to someone with only one fight on her record.”

Rachel Hilbert just gives Candice a defiant smirk: “You old gals are all alike: clinging to your records even when they aren’t all that great. Sorry, Candy, I may be only on my second fight, but you are in my way. I am using this tournament to carve out a name for myself in this fed and I am going to enjoy making you my next defeated opponent. Get ready to kiss the canvas.” She puckers her lips in a most rude manner and makes ‘kissy’ sounds.

“Why you—“ Candice’s long legs carry her across the distance to the other podium and she swings an open palm at Rachel. (They are dressed in bikini bottoms and Victoria’s Secret logoed tee shirts. Candice is in red bottoms. Rachel is in hot pink).

Rachel ducks the slap, grabs a water glass off her podium and throws it into Candice’s face. Candice reels back, momentarily blinded. Rachel swiftly yanks the tee shirt up over Candice’s head (revealing a skimpy red bikini top), spins Candice around, then bends her over and does a kick into the Foxfire beauty’s buns. With a yelp of rage, Candice is sent sprawling and tries to get the entangled tee shirt off her head. Rachel now grabs a full water pitcher and pours it over Candice’s head. Candice lets out a wail of rage and mortification.

At that point Rachel looks up to see an angry Rachel Nichols, Foxfire’s lightweight trainer accompanied by Foxfire’s Playmate lightweight part-timer Claire Sinclair trying to force their way onto the stage. Rachel turns to the audience, bows and then makes a fast exit just ahead of Rachel and Claire. Candice has finally torn off the soggy tee shirt and can be heard screaming:

“That’s it! Run you coward! I’m going make you pay for this!”

So it is no surprise that this bout is quickly tagged as one of the biggest grudge fights in the current round of the ‘War in Heaven’ tournament. Candice Swanepoel mounts the elevated ring with a determined look on her face. She’s in a tiny red faux lingerie bikini with matching gloves and a red ribbon in her ponytailed hair. Rachel Hilbert marches out in black faux lingerie bikini with matching gloves. Hair in ponytail. No ribbon. Two are pushing and shoving at each other during ring instructions giving the referee a lot of trouble before he can restore order. Finally fighters are in their corners. Bell rings. It’s on!

ROUND 1:
Rachel and Candice crash into each other at center ring and send punch after punch driving hard into each other’s bodies. Breasts taking a fearful beating in the early going, but neither fighter slows down. Then the pounding drops down to attack those sleek abs and bellies. Both fighters knocked back by certain shots, but each time are quick to return to the battle. Late in the round, chins come under leather fire and ponytails bob wildly as tremors got through long legs from the blows. The chin shots do slow the action as both fighters are evidently seeing stars from the impacts and at bell, they stand there looking foggily at each other until referee directs them to their proper corners. Judges call it a DRAW and few would disagree.

ROUND 2:
Question during the break was who would recover first from that late R1 chin chucking exchange. Answer proves to be Rachel Hilbert. She quicker out of her corner and first to land punches. She stuffs a solid hook into Candice’s sleek gut tipping the lanky South African forward and Rachel then happily goes to work on Candice’s head and face, Candice falling back in confusion. Rachel moving those long legs nicely to circle around Candice and firing away from unexpected angles to strike at her opponent’s head and body. Candice having trouble keeping up with the attack is only able to get her defensive jab working late in the round when Rachel tries working her way in close. Candice able to drive her back with some good licks to the chest and off the sides of Rachel’s head. It’s enough to avoid being shutout, but Rachel wins the round by a wide margin.

ROUND 3:
Candice comes back in this round as she lets Rachel start her circle-and-strike routine, but then Candice blunts the attacks and strikes back with a flurry of punches to Rachel’s midsection. Rachel stumbles back, gasping for air, but then rallying behind a desperate jab. Candice takes a shot to the side of the nose which makes her gasp with pain and her attack slackens, Rachel willing to fight in close this time, comes forward to work over Candice’s breasts and slipping a quick uppercut or two to rattle Candice’s chin. Just when it looks like Rachel could be stealing the round, Candice steps back suddenly, causing Rachel to lurch forward off balance and Candice brings a vicious right to Rachel’s jaw. Rachel goes spinning away and then stays away as Candice pursues. Rachel’s head seems to clear as the two get into some toe to toe body punching action late. It’s close by Candice Swanepoel able to edge out a win.

ROUND 4:
Rachel very aggressive this round, but she’s moving around Candice and firing away. She’s gotten quite good at bouncing shot after shot to Candice’s head. Candice again having trouble dealing with Rachel’s quick movements, but she hangs in grimly trying to counter. Rachel not willing to come in close again especially since she is clearly getting the better of a frustrated Candice. Candice keeps trying and she does enough to avert a shutout, but not enough to prevent Rachel from winning the round by a comfortable margin. Rachel smirking at Candice and adds a completely unnecessary hip bump as she goes to her corner. Candice tries to tackle the retreating younger blonde but is blocked by the referee and forced to her own corner.

Round 5:
Rachel Nichols speaking quietly to the seething Candice during break. Candice seems to make a great effort to compose herself and not do anything reckless as the new round opens. However Rachel seems eager to finish off Candice and comes charging in flinging blockbuster rights and lefts at her. Candice coolly ducks these wild swings and comes hammering back with an uppercut that crashes home with such impact that Rachel’s left leg comes up as she goes crashing down on her back! Crowd gasps in astonishment as Rachel Hilbert lies sprawled on her back looking up at the clear Florida sky, her arms and legs moving useless as she tries to rise. Candice in the neutral corner and watching with interest as the bombed-out Rachel rolls to one side and then gets to her knees. She looks up at the referee with pleading eyes, but since she can’t seem to get any further erect she has to just kneel there and listen:

“EIGHT!...NINE!..TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

Official Decision: Candice Swanepoel defeats Rachel Hilbert via KO5!

AFTER:

Candice practically licking her lips in anticipation as Rachel Nichols and Claire Sinclair remove her gloves. She then goes over to where the referee has helped Rachel Hilbert to her feet. Candice rudely snatches Rachel Hilbert away and holds the battered young blonde by the biceps.

“You thought you could beat ME! You stupid rookie! I was too tough for you and now I beat you! Knocked you out in the open air--in front of everyone!”

Rachel Hilbert groans: “I hate you!”

“Well, I hate you, too!” Candice announces, then turns Rachel around puts an hammer lock on her right arm and marches her around the ring. Rachel clearly mortified with her first Walk of Shame and begins to weep. Candice whispers in Rachel’s ear: “Nothing a winning model loves to see than making her defeated opponent cry. Get used to it! You’ll be crying plenty more before you are driven from the ring in shame and failure!”

Rachel glares at Candice through her tears: “I will never give up boxing! Not until I have made you cry because I beat you down! I promise you that, Candice Swanepoel. You will be the one driven from the ring in shame and failure!”

“Then maybe I better keep something to remind me of your threats,” Candice says and removes Rachel’s baby blue bikini top.

Rachel covers her chest with her arms and flees the ring. Candice waves the trophy top after her and then joins Rachel Nichols and Claire Sinclair as they plan a big celebration for Candice’s success.

Tough break for rookie Rachel Hilbert. She seemed to have Candice Swanepoel in trouble more than once in this fight, but the veteran able to spot an opening and put Rachel on the deck. Candice advances to the next round and seems to be relishing her newfound success in this tournament.
