Karlie Kloss vs. Bo Krsmanovic

(Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE:

"I know that Bo's been fighting better recently," says the blonde with a hint of a smirk. "But, you know, as bad as she started out, she HAD to get a little better, didn't she?"

Krsmanovic can only shake her head. "She's made it clear she doesn't respect me. The entire run up to this fight, she's made that clear. All she talks about is our first fight last year, and how she beat me once and she'll do it again. Well. I'm a different fighter now. One that's going to whip her a**!"

ROUND ONE:

Kloss right to work with the long jab off the bell. Bo looking to close, get physical like she did in the first fight, but Karlie knew this was coming and game planned for it. She's moving the feet, keeping off square, using the jab to slow the brunette, and, when she's got her in position, dropping hard right hands on her. The Serbian beauty just can't get anything going. She can't penetrate, can't like Kloss up, can't get to spots where she can let her hands go. It's a frustrating three minutes for the lovely Bojana, who keeps getting face fulls of leather, no matter what she does. By the final minute, Kloss making a show of how dominant she is, wiggling her rump and grinning as she lands yet another jab followed by a stinging right hand. Bo just getting more and more exasperated, until, finally, mercifully, the bell rings giving Kloss the first wide.

ROUND TWO:

Kloss continuing to roll. It's all about the left hand and how she's using it to create the geometry she wants. Despite not having her usual reach advantage, Karlie's long, accurate left remains a weapon, one Bo can't seem to figure out how to deal with, because, while the brunette may be a different fighter than she was the first time they fought, nearly sixteen months ago, the blonde is as well. After all, Kloss/Krsmanovic I was Karlie's FCBA debut. She's been in the ring a dozen times since, and has become both better and more polished in that time. Thus, the tactics that Bo used to penetrate against Karlie back in July, 2016 aren't working in October, 2017. But, Kloss' long-range boxing is. Again and again, Krsmanovic tries to close the range, but, all she gets for her trouble is more leather in her face. At the bell, it's Kloss wide again and the cards now have the blonde in front 20-18.

ROUND THREE:

Bo decides that two can play at this game. Remember, the lovely Bojana is every bit as tall and rangy as Ms. Kloss. She doesn't HAVE to close the distance to fight Karlie. She can go gun platform if she decides to. And, she decides to. And, with that decision comes not only a change in terms but one in fortunes as well. Now, Bo's able to get some offense going, and, while Karlie continues to score with both hands as she has the entire fight, things change from one-sided to two-way. And, then, they become one-sided again. BOOM! Karlie's HURT! Krsmanovic lands a nice flurry ending in a big right hand and Kloss wobbles! And, Bo is immediately all in. Serbian beauty letting the hands go, driving the blonde before her, trapping her on the ropes and making with the heavy leather. Kloss hanging on, jabbing back in spots, looking to run clock and survive the round. Referee's watching closely, but Karlie does enough to survive. At the bell, though, it's Bo wide and Kloss's lead is down to 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Krsmanovic rolling. Kloss' legs still iffy and Bo's taking advantage. NOW she can close the distance, get physical. Brunette stepping to at every opportunity, working body, leveraging the slighter blonde, sitting down on punches, piling up as much punishment as she can. Of course, she's piling up points, too, but those are secondary. It's about bringing the physical, and that's what Krsmanovic is doing. For her part, Karlie's playing defense as best she can. She's countering here and there, tying up, just trying to manage the brunette's aggression, get through the round, get her legs back under her. And, while there's no question that Bo gets, by far, the best of things in this stanza, there's also no question that Kloss gets what she wants out of it. She slowly stabilizes things, shakes the worst of the damage from the last round, and, by the end of the fourth, is giving almost as well as she gets. At the bell, it's Bojana and wide, and we're even at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

All about imposing will now. Bo is determined to continue working in, getting physical. Kloss, with those long legs back working properly, is just as determined to get the distance she wants again. But, while both blonde and brunette want to impose will, neither can get it done. Yes, Kloss can keep Krsmanovic off at times, and, when she does, she puts together punches and scores with both hands. But, at other times, Bo's able to get to her spots. And, when she does, she thumps the blonde to head and body, scoring points of her own and piling up the hurt she's looking to overwhelm the blonde with. Result of all this is the first complete two-way round of the fight. Corners of both girls have stuff to like, but there's plenty of stuff they don't like at all. There's not much in it down the stretch, and both girls seem to know it. Efforts to steal the points by both blonde and brunette result in three sharp exchanges in the final twenty seconds, with neither fighter gaining much of an edge. At the bell, it's very close, but it's also Kloss, and Karlie goes back into the lead 48-47 at the half.

ROUND SIX:

More two-way stuff. Kloss using the length and the left hand to create space, land long, limber rights. Bo working forward, slipping past, banging body, getting physical. Krsmanovic wrestling around on the inside with Kloss, leveraging, looking like a real in-fighter despite all that height and length. Blonde handling it well, though, tying up, forcing breaks, getting Bo back to the outside where she can set up the gun platform. Half way through the round, brunette works forward, bangs some body. Karlie ties up, Bo leverages with the left shoulder and BOOM! Kloss opened up for a short right hook and the Serbian lands it right on target. DOWN. GOES. KLOSS! Karlie collapses in a heap on her right side as Bo bounces back to a neutral corner. She's all smiles. She knows Kloss isn't getting up from THAT...and she's right! No movement at all from Karlie as the count passes her by, and, that quickly, it's OVER! And your winner by KO6 in one-punch fashion is Bojana Krsmanovic!

AFTER:

Biggest win of the career for beautiful Bo. She's just proven to be a legitimate threat in this division, and, she knows it. "I TOLD everyone coming in. I'm a different fighter than I was last year. I've got some rounds under my belt and solid management behind me. I've got all the tools I need to get girls like Karlie Kloss taken care of. And, to win the gold in this division. And, that's exactly what I'm going to do!
