The highlight of the October Asylum last night was of course, the lightweight championship bout between Lima and Kendall Jenner. I must say I am glad that Kendall and I buried the hatchet last month and now are friendly acquaintances. She is the new champ. It was a good fight. Jenner went down the fourth and Lima kissed the canvas in the fifth. The fight was even at the end of eight. In the ninth, we had the controversial KO. Did Lima beat the count? The ref said no and his word is law. Lima had a great title run, but if finally ended as it eventually must.
Off the subject off the title fight. it amuses me when a fighter lists Theron as one of her bragging victims, when she actually fought the Golden Goddess long after she passed her prime and was a shadow of her former self.
One other thing that caught my attention. As far as I know, the only official titles in FCBA are the unified flyweight, bantam, lightweight and welter titles plus the sectional titles which aren’t seen anymore. The Ice Hotel, Body Saddle. JMD, JMDD and any other title are not official titles. To make them so, would terrible injustice to all those fighters who toiled before those bouts were ever thought of I have never seen an official declaration of those titles being anything other than bragging rights.
It wasn’t a particularly good showing for Winter. She was behind most of the fight. Winter finally caught her with an uppercut in the sixth to win the fight and that is all that counts
It didn’t take Arterton long to dispose of her opponent. About five minutes. That was a little quicker than I expected.
The Allison Mack fight went about as expected. It ended in the fifth, which was about as long as most thought the fight would last, and of course the winner was Mack
About the Stewart/Snow bout, what can I say other than once again Stewart beats another fighter who hasn’t won a bout in over six years. It was Stewart’s fourth win this year, all against fighters who haven’t won in six or more years.
Do y’all get the idea I am not a big fan of Stewart?
Finally, you got to feel sorry for Elizabeth Rohm. She hasn’t won a fight is six years and has had six fights in the last four, all at the Asylum. At 44, she was nothing but cannon fodder for Perry, who took four to flatten her. She is among the four Bazz lightweights that I said need to go, a year of so ago
