Frankie Bridge vs Inna
(Double A Boxing vs BBU Independent)
(4-14, 4 KO vs 4-8, 4 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Frankie Bridge's BBU career has generated very little success over the years but the pint-sized singer send shockwaves through the league when she stopped the highly-touted Cher Lloyd back in September which might have just turned her fortunes on the long haul. Since fellow The Saturdays bandmate Mollie King beat Katya Jones up a little too much last week, the intended 'Strictly Come Dancing' reunion clash got postponed until further notice with Romanian sexpot Inna stepping in replacement role tonight.

Inna hasn't won a fight in two years and went down to Maria Valverde in a bitter contest back in September but Frankie's record provides zero excitement among her opponents and the Lloyd success is dismissed as a mere fluke inside the Romanian's camp. However BBU TV's Georgie Thompson hopes that Inna doesn't underestimate the East Londoner tonight especially that the fight takes place in Wembley Arena. This being said, Inna is no stranger to fighting on hostile territory and it might take a while before we see a bout scheduled on Romanian soil.

Frankie Bridge wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Inna wears a light blue bikini top with white trim, black knickers and yellow gloves. Long black hair tied in a curly ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Frankie's visibly excited at the start of the fight; that Lloyd trouncing seems to have ignited some confidence into her approach and that spells trouble for the Romanian tourist. Inna soaks up a jabbing rally straight up the middle and gets outworked in close range even though she owns a significant reach advantage. But she just can't match the Londoner's intensity and reels on her heels before Frankie nicks through with a couple of promising uppercuts on the jaw that truly stiffle the older singer behind a high guard. There's little stopping Bridge from there on as she pounds her foe back to the ropes and really ups the workrate when she has Inna trapped. She ignores the high earmuff and drills some juice into the otherwise exposed midsection which increases the volume of the tourist's moaning. It's all Frankie here in the final minute as she shuts down the other woman wholesale and has every right to punch the air in delight at the bell.

Round 2:
Inna's shown nothing on offense during the opener but she dances around Frankie's initial jabbing approach this time and loops a promising counter-attack from the back foot thanks to her superior reach. Frankie keeps coming after the fellow brunette but can't do much against pure numbers and gets stacked on her heels when Inna finds a nasty hook straight across the nasal ridge that rolls back all the beatings that Bridge took over the years. The exotic tourist smacks Frankie upstairs during a frantic middle minute and pays back the favor by reeling her onto the ropes down the stretch. Frankie tries to swing back from behind the guard but comes up short and the punches that nail her on the nose simply take the sting out of her attack and help Inna to keep her behind a tight earmuff all the way until the bell.

Round 3:
It's becoming obvious these two won't hold back at any stage of this fight as another feisty close range exchange dominates the early stages of round three. It's a welcomed change to see Bridge looking so committed in the ring as she has checked out mentally out there before but she wants to punish Inna like she's the designated jobber. The sheer execution value drops here as both women provide mind over matter stuff before a lenghty stalemate eventually tucks them along the ropes in a battle of strenght that doesn't please the referee at all. He separates the two brunettes but Inna still sticks her mitts into Frankie's breadbasket and even clips her breasts to add insult to injury. The East Londoner briefly loses her breath and gets outworked back to the corner thereafter as the older singer's superior reach begins to take over the production again alas the clock runs down on Inna's plans to dominate the final stretch of this round.

Round 4:
Georgie Thompson believes Inna is the more durable fighter of the two but we'll have to wait several rounds more to find out whether she's correct - and Frankie might not allow this to happen in first place! The East Londoner thrives on the wild cheering from the audience and beats the fellow brunette for the opening punch which enables her to stick more leather into Inna's face down the stretch. The older singer wobbles to her heels and allthough she swings one from the back foot, the precision is not there and Bridge ducks underneath the wayward strike to thump her rival on the chin with a vicious uppercut. Ugh! Inna screams out in pain but then it only gets worse for her as Frankie rocks her with a wild left hook on the brow ridge and half-spins her to the side. It's a phone booth-like beating that follows suit with Frankie raining punches like skittles and pounding the fellow brunette butt-in-ropes in the proccess. Inna just can't find her groove since that uppercut on the chin and disappears behind a high earmuff while Bridge lays into her until the bell. This was a dominant performance from the local girl but the lack of core strenght prevented her from decking the Romanian tourist outright.

Round 5:
Inna got banged up during the previous round but she's as feisty as they come and Frankie learns about it the hard way. Another quick tangle, another facial leather heave and this time it's the East Londoner that squeals in pain as she gets nailed on the nasal rigde clean. Inna might be more bruised of the two at this stage but the evil look in her eyes indicates she's far from being done mentally. And she beats the English girl for the one punch that matters the most. She rattles Bridge on her heels and cracks another vicious uppercut on the chin that splits the mitts and paves the way for a ferocious Romanian leather rush that snaps Frankie's head back & forth and silences the Wembley Arena cheering. Frankie uses some quick feet to escape the rush come the final minute but Inna's inflicted enough damage upon her face by this stage and can afford to revert back to single punching while stalking the younger singer around the ring. Some upset looking faces in the Double A corner and Frankie's smile is nowhere to be seen when she slides down onto her stool.

Round 6:
This is a truly see-saw fight here in the Wembley Arena and neither girl can gain enough momentum through the outright slugging approach. Georgie Thompson reckons this could be decided by a lucky punch or perhaps Inna's superior durability but the local support spurs Frankie into another mindless bashing early in the sixth. The older brunette fancies a mid-range tease but is forced to accept the usual drill when Bridge connects with her chin. Ugh! Both girls clash heads during a heated wrestling struggle and the pace of the fight calms down when Inna misses the overhand swing while Frankie bounces off the improved Romanian guard in the proccess. We're basically back to mind over matter stuff thereafter but Inna lands the more juicy strikes thanks to her supreme reach and manages to force Frankie into a lenghty clinch for the lack of a better option. What's more, the English lass struggles for breath as she walks back to her corner and looks genuinely more tired of the two hellcats.

Round 7:
Inna rips through Frankie's guard early on and snaps her head back as the close range tangle becomes visibly one-sided fast... it truly looks like the local girl needs to catch a second wind in her sails but the Romanian's intensity simply deprives her of that opportunity. The punches begin to stack on Frankie's face and her lips begin to leak blood just shy of the one minute mark. Ugh! The scowls are getting louder and louder and only fuel Inna's desire to wreck havoc... and Frankie simply can't take it anymore AND TAKES A KNEE in a middle of a furious Romanian barrage. The count reaches eight before a visibly affected Bridge beats it but Inna bunny hops in the neutral corner and flies in with a vicious aerial attack when the fight resumes. Frankie tries to clock her foe with almost a desperate hook but finds thin air and gets clobbered by a right hook on the temple that folds her guard and enables the tourist to add more facial misery. The Londoner's head rocks side-to-side and the eyes bawl to the back of the orbit and Inna delivers a nasty shellacking to literally silence the partisan Wembley Arena crowd here. Uh-oh... Frankie is done here before she knows it and succumbs to the aerial pressure just past the two minute mark... SHE SLIDES DOWN ON HER BUMS AND ROLLS TO THE LEFT with eyes closed. She's been knocked out of her senses and the ref doesn't even bother with the count! KO7 Inna!!!

AFTER: This result is good news for Katya Jones but Frankie's fumbled a golden opportunity to finally build some momentum during an otherwise lacklustre career. Beating Cher Lloyd was an upset and some fans inside the Wembley Arena believe Inna's rampant success follows the same script. It also leaves Mollie King as the only genuine flyweight elite contender among The Saturdays contingent with Vanessa White also struggling for results around the country.

Final result: Inna def. Frankie Bridge KO7.
