BEFORE: Most BBU fans believe Abbey Crouch is the hottest punchbag in the welterweight division and the otherwise very popular Merseyside blonde has indeed only racked up wins against women born in the 70s. When younger competition steps up, she's been on the receiving end of some heavy beatdowns instead.

Meanwhile Sarah Brandner has opened her BBU account with a bang, blowing past both Charlotte Jackson and Manuela Arcuri. If only her personal life followed this script though, the lanky blonde was unceremoniously dumped by Bastian Schweinsteiger who picked former tennis pro Ana Ivanovic over her and that apparently affected the Munich-born model's confidence to the point she's taken a break from boxing during last year. Will she vent out her frustration tonight? Black Eagle Boxing's owner & trainer Gina Wild is present in Cardiff amid rumours about Brandner joining the Cologne-based stable. Even BBU TV's Georgie Thompson agrees that Sarah's prospects are simply too obvious to pass over.

Round 1:
Sarah's aggression is something the Kats' coach Gail Kim anticipated long before the opening bell and Abbey's almost forced into immediate response as the German ploughs through her high guard and begins stacking up punches across her face. Ugh! This is like a flyweight bash straight from Samia Ghadie's vintage collection but the Merseyside model hangs on tough and manages to halt the fellow model's progress. She smacks Sarah to the boobs and makes her wince in pain before blasting a left cross on the brow ridge that forces the younger blonde back. However Brandner's quick to mount another stalking challenge only for Crouch to come underneath and pierce more German tissue around the navel. Ugh! Sarah scowls in pain as she gets ransacked to the body and a late charge enables Abbey to pin her opponent on the ropes where she cleans out the tummy to perhaps run away with the round!

Round 2:
Gina Wild is well known for making some dubious coaching decisions which especially affected Jeanette Biedermann during the Lioness Club tenure but there's no reason for Sarah to hang back against someone of Abbey's reputation. She triggers another head-hunting assault to put the Mersey WAG under immediate pressure but a lack of proper execution allows Crouch to survive and respond with another vicious cross hooking route that quickly results in Sarah's right brow ridge swelling. Ugh! Abbey hasn't looked this effective in years and Georgie Thompson wonders whether she's taking some PEDs to boost her nose-diving stock but perhaps Brandner was taking this one for granted and didn't expect such a stubborn response from the older blonde? Whatever the case, the back & forth head-hunting exchange ends in a stalemate when an accidental head-butt leads into a lenghty wrestling struggle come the final minute. Abbey still looks to slip few punches to the body which leaves the German visibly frustrated at the bell.

Round 3:
Maybe if Abbey was Ana Ivanovic look-a-like then Brandner would have knocked her head off by now however the competitive nature of this contest continues into the third round - very much against the odds. Crouch sends plenty of promising hooks while planting her front (left) leg in confident fashion and she truly tries to add more damage to that swollen brow ridge here. Brandner soaks up a couple of nasty hooks but snaps the fellow blonde's head back with a solid drive up the middle only for Abbey to pierce her liver area with a low switch. Ugh! Another clash of heads stuffs both women back but the German recovers first and bullies the English WAG to the ropes with a proper JMDD-like assault that leaves Abbey vulnerable. A desperate clinch prevents more trouble but Crouch can hang on only as long here and Sarah digs some heavy juice into her body as the clock expires.

Round 4:
Abbey's as brave as ever as she engages in another slugging drill but Sarah's precision finally begins to tell and the German model outworks her foe in a close range struggle before blasting her across the lips and sinking on her heels. Ugh! Crouch swings back in desperate fashion but just can't connect anymore and gets NAILED with a vicious right hand on the nose that sends her into that familiar fish-tailing mode. She trips backwards and barely avoids a complete meltdown however Brandner is all over her in a hurry and picks off from point-blank range again. Abbey gets thumped into the turnbuckle and struggles behind a tight earmuff while the younger blonde piles on the pressure and traps the Merseyside model where so many of her opponents trapped her before. Ugh! Abbey squeals behind the wilting defense and gets literally plastered to the corner post which allows Sarah to rain punches like skittles and the final minute is basically a one-sided beating which leaves Crouch exhausted and coach Gail Kim screaming out in frustration.

Round 5:
Brandner has displayed some one-punch magic before but she takes her time in dissecting Crouch's wilting guard; the Mersey WAG gets outworked in the close range dust-up again and doesn't have the agility to stay out of harm's way when the German's punches begin to stack up against her face. Ugh! The blonde ponytail goes flying around as Sarah barks in her efforts to re-arrange Abbey's face and the English model gets wrapped in a proper head-hunting heat that breaks her resilience half-way through the round. She groans out in pain but simply can't escape the punishment SO SHE TAKES A KNEE just to catch her breath back. She gets up at seven but Sarah's eyes glare in destruction mode and there's nowhere for the hurting Mersey girl to hide. She gets WHACKED with a quick cross hook and drops her gloves too low to embrace another head-hunting assault. Brandner slams a left/right combo on the lips and then LETS ONE GO!!! She nails the vulnerable blonde on the left brow ridge AND SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK!!! Booyah!!! That's one punch too many for someone as hittable as Crouch! KO5 Sarah Brandner!!!

AFTER: This was a very gallant performance from Abbey - one of her best against someone not born in the 70s - however the sheer talent eventually prevailed according to Georgie Thompson. And Gina Wild recognizes that as well as she announced Sarah's addition to the Black Eagle Boxing roster with immediate effect during the post-fight ceremonies. Sarah still looks a little frustrated she didn't quite blast Crouch into pieces within the opening couple of rounds but even the best prospects can feel a little rusty after such a lenghty spell on the sidelines. Now with Gina Wild officially overseeing her schedule, she might not wait for another opportunity so long! That's good news for the German female boxing fans but perhaps a little less exciting for Brandner's divisional peers.

Final result: Sarah Brandner def. Abbey Crouch KO5.
