Collien Fernandes vs Emma Bunton
(Black Eagle Boxing vs Lioness Club)
(2-3, 2 KO vs 7-12, 6 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: The days of Emma Bunton's boxing career appear to be numbered and Georgie Thompson reckons tonight's bout marks the beginning of an unofficial farewell tour for the former Spice Girl however the blonde veteran remains in good spirits and vows to surprise the fans now that she's been reduced to a perennial underdog status. Her last victory dates back to April 2014 and there just isn't any viable reason to justify her apparent journeywoman reboot.

Meanwhile Collien Fernandes has put a tough start to her BBU career behind her and notched up important victories over Layla Kayleigh and Isla Fisher to perhaps even beat Sandy Moelling for internal Black Eagles flyweight supremacy but Emma Bunton is simply a different kind of opponent and instant upgrade in the exposure market. Knocking out a former Spice Girl is free publicity on speed dial and the raven-haired TV presenter-turned-actress understands that better than most of the audience gathered inside the Barclaycard Arena tonight.

Collien Fernandes wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Long raven black hair tied in a half-up ponytail. Emma Bunton wears a white bikini set with light blue trim and light blue gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a loose ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Collien goes on a jabbing rampage early on and outworks the slow-moving blonde during the initial tangle. She splits Emma's mitts repeatedly and knocks her back on the heels which immediately results in a joyful reaction from the audience. However Collien wants more than to just stagger the singer behind a high-guard. She tackles her to the body and makes Emma feel it, the blonde gasps in pain when she gets bulldozed to the ropes on the two minute mark and simply sinks on her knees when the brunette's ruthless punching proves vastly superior. Even coach & ex-bandmate Mel B. can't sell this horrible performance as anything other than a complete disaster.

Round 2:
Emma tries to crank up the punching volume but she barely grazes the brunette's flesh and eats a quick reply over the top with Collien literally digging away at will here. She makes a mockery of the blonde's high guard and rocks her head backwards before a switch downstairs leaves the former Spice Girl crippled. Ugh! Collien leans on the hapless foe and simply drills the midsection into a mush which sends Bunton reeling onto the ropes again. Another wild hook finds the jaw and the struggling Brit ends the round backed into the corner with Fernandes bashing away in fury! Cue in more rampant cheers from the Hamburg audience!

Round 3:
Collien wraps the older woman into another close range assault but this time Emma tries to brawl it out and actually wobbles her opponent with a nice left/right combo. She goes for the follow up and nails the brunette on the nose which makes Fernandes think better off it. The subsequent action has Collien dancing away into mid-range but that shows some experience as well with Emma unable to chase her down and cash in on her best spell of the fight. Even Black Eagles coach Gina Wild tells the brunette to take it easy and Fernandes doesn't mount a proper response until the final minute where she exchanges some crisp single punches with the blonde but both women fail to make a significant impact anymore.

Round 4:
Bunton seeks another offensive boost and lands some promising punches early in the fourth but Collien soaks them all up and responds in a brutal way; she blasts the blonde from both flanks in close range before drilling her on the chest in a quick move that leaves the singer's guard badly exposed. Emma groans in pain but still tries to swing out at the younger opponent - she finds nothing but thin air and Fernandes pounces on her with a classic right overhand that stuffs Bunton with a whimper! Ugh! Another nasty blast tags her on the chin a split second later AND DOWN SHE GOES!!! Bunton gets knocked down onto her side and the crowd loves that vulnerable look on her face when she eventually gets up at seven. Meanwhile Collien's eyes glare with confidence and she riffles immediate pressure trying to finish off the apparently stirred rival. Emma blocks off some of the head-hunting punches but still eats plenty of them once she gets backed into the corner and earns a fat lip for her troubles with Fernandes now screaming in her desire to knock her out. Bell comes to the blonde's rescue but Emma looks in all sorts of bother now and can barely stop moaning her heart out during the interval.

Round 5:
Emma doesn't have the agility to avoid another furious German rush and eats more crisp punches straight up the middle in close range; Collien destroys her guard seconds into the fifth and hauls in one rough punch after another to spill some blood from the blonde's busted lips and quite frankly Bunton looks to be out on her feet after 30 seconds of this one-sided beating. However the referee doesn't react in time and Fernandes gets the job done all by herself, she lands one hook on the ear too many AND DROPS BUNTON FACE-DOWN ON THE CANVAS!!! Gina Wild makes the familiar throat-slit gesture in the Eagles corner and it's hard to argue her case - the count is waved off at five with Emma not moving at all anymore. KO5 Collien Fernandes!!!

AFTER: This is a much-needed victory for the exotic brunette who couldn't be any happier about it! She blows several kisses to the hometown audience and parades around the ring with her arms waving above her head while the medics attend to the fallen English tourist. Georgie Thompson has lost all the hope that Emma's BBU career can be revived at this stage: "Even I could knock her out now and my record is uhmm... uninspiring to say the least." Indeed some serious questions need to asked over in Barnet since Emma looks like a wash-up tomato can who no longer belongs inside the ring. It's really time to call it a career before serious health issues become apparent. The former Lioness Club flyweight pin-up might have fought her last battle tonight...

Final result: Collien Fernandes def. Emma Bunton KO5.
