JoJo Levesque vs Avril Lavigne

(FCBA Free Agent vs The Dollhouse)
(3-7, 3 KO vs 1-6, 1 KO)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago

BEFORE:

It's rematch time here in Barclays Center tonight as JoJo Levesque tries to double up on a famous albeit forgotten trashing of Avril Lavigne that happened in May 2010. The Canadian singer was still an active member of the Front Street Gym back then but quickly devoured away from the ring when her boxing career never really took off. That's until Carmen Electra and Kristanna Loken pulled a trick straight out of 'Dumb & Dumber' script and lured the Ontario-native into a shocking revival under the Dollhouse banner.

Avril's comeback returned a long-awaited maiden victory over equally hapless Ariana Grande but UK tourist Lily Collins simply proved too much in the follow up. Meanwhile JoJo was picked as easy target for Lauren Mayberry before spoiling The Dollhouse party in this very building last month. This led into a bitter social media feud between the two singers and subsequently one of the most unexpected rematches got arranged very quickly indeed. Some fans expect a classic grudge battle tonight and wish that both women qualified for a JMD rules contest but - perhaps unfortunately - that's not the case.

JoJo Levesque wears a navy blue bikini top, silver knickers and red gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Avril Lavigne wears a black sports bra with a purple trim, purple knickers with black trim and matching gloves. Long dyed blonde hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
The build-up to this fight was so intense that one would have thought these girls are genuine elite prospects. However regardless of their otherwise dismal records there's plenty of heat coming from both sides during the opener. Execution leaves a lot to be desired yet both Avril and JoJo lean onto each other and try to land some crisp shots upstairs. Avril gets the better of the exchange at first but gets stuffed with a low swing from the brunette as JoJo develops a steady body assault that forces the Canadian into a hectic retreat down the stretch. It doesn't last for long as Avril's eyes are full of disdain and she tries everything she can not to be outboxed here in the opener. Still, Levesque dominates the final minute when she's able to beat her opponent to the punch every now and again and leaves the Canadian visibly frustrated at the bell.

Round 2:
Avril ignites more pace into her movements and avoids JoJo's aerial rush before thumping the brunette with a wild uppercut on the jaw. Ugh! JoJo isn't best known for her elite resistance and she sinks on her knees following that punch which allows the Canadian to add further juice on the fly. A solid uppercut drive dissects Levesque's woeful guard and pummels the younger girl back to the ropes much quicker than anyone in the Barclays Center anticipated. JoJo is forced into a deep cover as Lavigne keeps firing away from both sides. She barks in her efforts to thwart the brunette's defence but becomes a little erratic down the stretch when most of her strikes actually bounce off the mitts. JoJo survives the Canadian storm and clinches her rival, she even buries her knee in Avril's crotch briefly - the referee somehow didn't notice that - but this only fuels Lavigne's anger and she nearly wrestles the Vermont native down to the canvas amid loud yelps from both girls. And it's Avril who gets lectured for the attempted hip toss next. Good grief, even Kristanna Loken loses her temper and it looks like Brooklyn won't favor the Dollhouse entourage again. The crowd enjoys the view though and JoJo's cheeky smile indicates she's more than satisfied with the early revenue.

Round 3:
Lavigne develops the red mist mode early and vows to "destroy that bytch" but she keeps misfring in her approach and only skims off the brunette's flesh which allows Levesque to steadily rack up the numbers during the third. The blonde's pursuit is woefully ineffective and she almost wobbles straight into another vicious uppercut as JoJo turns her attention to aerial attacks as she can't quite tackle Lavigne to the body anymore. ESPN's Erin Andrews claims that Avril remains the faster of the two across the canvas but she simply can't connect properly with her punches and wilts under the counter-punching production of the Vermont girl. Uh-oh! JoJo delivers a crisp left/right combo that wobbles the Canadian behind another high earmuff and it only gets worse from here as the older singer gets pounded back to the ropes with Levesque now getting vocal. She snaps Avril's head back repeatedly in the dying seconds and leaves an early cut under the left eye which adds more pressure on coach Loken's tactics going forward.

Round 4:
Avril is urged to simply brawl herself out of trouble now but she gets stunned with a vicious hook to the groin in the opening minute and disappears behind a desperate cover thereafter. It's almost like JoJo has found that extra evil edge here tonight and she lays down the law with more promising uppercuts that ragdoll the Canadian into a hectic retreat come the half-way mark of the round. The punches upstairs dissect the guard repeatedly and JoJo can only be accused of lacking outright strenght. Lavigne yelps and groans while getting hit and her face develops that familiar pink shade that further underlines the cut under the left eye. Uh-oh. She gets clobbered to the corner come the dying seconds and weaves around on her feet in a desperate effort to salvage some pride. It's all for naught as JoJo drives it straight up the alley and pierces her navel with a quick one-two that renders the Canadian babe breathless at the bell. And the Barclays crowd simply loves that painful look on Lavigne's face!

Round 5:
The writing is on the wall for The Dollhouse crew! Avril has been outworked in the ring thus far and that cut under the left eye develops a swelling of a great concern. Still, her eyes shine with that no-nonsense spark and she screams at the Vermont brunette: "Let's dance, tramp!" which Erin Andrews believes is a mere false dawn of competitive approach. The early tussle favors JoJo again as she slips to tackle the blonde's body however she gets too occupied with that target and fails to react when Avril smacks her with a wild left/right combo on the temples. Levesque has done exceptionally well when looping around the blonde's scattered attacks from mid-range however she gets really clocked with a brutal uppercut that Avril drives straight against the run of play. Both girls brawl in close range and bump heads at one point, Avril screams out louder and the ref thinks she's in another spot of bother but JoJo loses her footing and wobbles straight into an uppercut blast that puts her on the heels. Lavigne follows it up with a wild left hook on the ear AND LEVESQUE IS HURT!!! She bends forward with a loud whimper and allthough she wants to clinch the Canadian singer, she only finds a thumping uppercut smashing her chin into instant trouble. Uh-oh! JoJo goes all jelly below the waist AND CRASHES DOWN ON HER KNEES with another loud shriek. Can you believe that? Even Kristanna Loken is left stunned at this development but Avril teases the brunette: "Told ya, tramp! You're so f#cked up right now!" JoJo bends her head against the boards but makes a genuine recovery attempt. She's up at eight and nods back at the ref who allows her to continue. However Avril's too quick to make the comeback count and she simply ravages the brunette's high guard with a gung-ho jabbing approach that pummels the aching foe back to the ropes. JoJo can't stop moaning her heart out while getting torn apart in the corner and her arms go numb when Avril wraps her in all sorts of bother for good twenty odd seconds. Cue in that punchbag mode next and Levesque bellows out against the ropes with eyes closed as Lavigne channels the facial reconstruction spirit. That's too much for the referee now as he steps in and halts the one-sided beating in the corner!!! The Barclays Center audience is shocked but the truth is indeed out there. TKO5 Avril Lavigne in come-from-behind fashion!!!

Final result: Avril Lavigne defeats JoJo Levesque via TKO5.

AFTER:

This could be labelled an upset! JoJo brawled her way into a nasty victory over the Canadian singer back in 2010 and buried a dagger in The Dollhouse hearts when she knocked Lauren Mayberry out last month. She also dominated tonight's contest until she somehow managed to lose all that momentum and allowed Avril to rally back in truly epic fashion in the fifth round! No wonder the Vermont native is on the verge of a emotional break-down here!

"Told ya, trap! I'm gonna f#ck you up! This was NEVER in question!", Avril gloats over the sobbing opponent who gets consoled by the ref in the corner but must face the Dollhouse heat regardless. The head-to-head might be tied right now but you're only as good as your last showing so Lavigne takes all the extra pleasure in rubbing further insult to injury walking the brunette around the ring: "I'd have crawled you around the entire arena if we were in Toronto, tramp! We're calling the shots now, understand?"

JoJo tries to refrain from the sobbing mess reality but oh my, she does understand what the future holds if Avril pushes for 'winner takes all' fight number three next year. That would include the post-fight antics associated with the jug muggin' rules. "Yeah, I had a fun time at the Asylum but beating the crap out of JoJo Levesque is even more fun! And everyone knows a rocker girl like me enjoys making people mad! Hell, I'm not Tess Valmore's pushover anymore! I have more freedom than when I was working in Philly! And I can do whatever I want with my fallen opponents! Sure, I'm not gonna upset Brooklyn by crawling JoJo's ass all over the floor but prepare for hell breaking loose next year! Because I'm not frickin' done with this Vermont cow!"

Avril's passionate rant concludes the CBAD coverage from Barclays Center and leaves more questions than answers about the loud-mouthed Belleville native. Can she truly emerge as a solid gatekeeper all these years after a 0-5 start removed her from the ring and placed among the biggest FCBA busts ever? Watch this space!

Official Result: Avril Lavigne Def JoJo Levesque TKO5.
