Before: FIGHTING INGENUE Magazine happy to facilitate the debuts of two promising young bantamweights. Blonde Natalie Alyn Lind (presently starring on THE GIFTED, but she’s had roles on GOTHAM and iZOMBIE among others) will face off against brunette Bailee Madison (from the Hallmark Channel series THE GOOD WITCH and she’s been on ONCE UPON A TIME and THE FOSTERS as well as theatrical and made for TV movies). Neither of them has official management although Bailee is a former office intern for Foxfire Boxing and Foxfire veteran Dani Fishel has stepped in to help the rookie prepare for her opening. This is a fact that has not gone unnoticed by Natalie Lind.
“I am the Official Underdog in this fight,” Natalie declares in the pre-fight. “The spoiled princess over there gets support of Foxfire Boxing, access to their training facilities and a veteran bantam as her trainer. I have had to hire my own people, rent my own training space and prepare pretty much on my own. But I am not sorry. It’s made me hungry and I want to show everyone it’s not how fancy your training is, but how much fighting heart you’ve got. I’ve got plenty more heart than Bailee Madison has and you’ll see how she wilts once I get going.”

Bailee Madison looks shocked at the dissing she’s getting from Natalie and sh can hardly wait to take her turn at the podium.
“You don’t know me at all, Natalie Lind! I am not SPOILED! Yes, I’ve gotten help from Foxfire, but this is all going to be on me. By the way, Natty, I hear you were secretly getting fights before you were eighteen.”

“I have no idea where you got that from,” Natalie sniffs. “I don’t deny I started training as soon as I could, but I would never break the rules like that. You are just jealous that I might have more experience than you do.”

“Me? Jealous of you!?” Bailee exploded. “You’re the one jealous because I have a real stable interested in me and you are lucky to find some has-beens to train you!”

“Now don’t go insulting my trainers. They believe in me and where I can go,” Natalie declared. “And I mean to go very far around here—which is a lot farther than you will be going!”

Bailee glares at the defiant blonde: “Well, I guess we’ll find out soon enough. See you in the ring!”

Natalie smiles into the hostility: “I’m looking forward to it.”

Bailee Madison in company with Dani Fishel arrives at the ring and doffs her robe to reveal an elegant  black one piece swimsuit with white boots and gloves (black laces). Her dark hair is pulled back into a ponytail. Natalie Alyn Lind doffs her robe to reveal a lacy white faux-lingerie high-waist two piece. She has navy blue gloves and boots (light blue laces) and hair is pulled back in ponytail. They stand facing each other inspecting each other.

“Your granny lend you her suit?” Natalie inquires.

“I have some class,” Bailee retorts, “you have trash. Oh, and are you hoping for JMD in your future?”

“Never hurts to keep your options open,” Natalie says smugly aware of her impressive assets.

“Ladies, please, the fans are waiting to see you two actually fight,” the referee interrupts.

“Sorry,” Bailee and Natalie both mutter. They subside and the ring instructions go off smoothly. Quick tap of the gloves and the newcomers are back to their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Natalie quick out of corner and eager to start punching. Bailee more cautious and does a good job of keeping her upper body moving so as to evade Natalie’s early head shots. Bailee gets her jab going and scores to Natty’s face. Natalie not liking tasting Bailee’s leather goes to the body to hook her in the belly. Bailee grunting from the blows, but hangs in and starts increasing her punch rate with the punches going into the blonde’s body. Natalie accepting the challenge goes for more body work and gives Bailee’s chest some attention. Bailee goes after Natalie’s chest with some stinging straight rights and lefts. Natalie backing up then takes a nasty hook deep in the gut. She doubles up and backpedals fairly well. Bailee lunging after her her, but can’t stand a solid punch and Natalie remains hard to corner to the bell. Bailee givn the round by a narrow margin. She looks a lot happier than the vexed looking Natalie as they head for their stools.

R2: Natalie left the heat of Bailee’s pressure attack last round and ups her pressure in this round. Natalie initially going to the belly to distract Bailee and then as Bailee gets preoccupied with attacking Natalie’s torso, the blonde goes for Bailee’s chin with nicely done uppercuts. Bailee’s head bounced back and the tremor goes down her legs. Natalie pounding forward to the body to keeping Bailee backing up. She then adds some quick right and left shots to the skull to shake up the brunette. Bailee looking confused and falls back in some disorder. Natalie trying to stay with her, but Bailee able to do a feint right while circling left and manages to escape Natalie’s attack. Bailee able to steady herself so that when Natalie finally catches up with her she encounters a well-aimed series of jabs. Natalie getting her eyebrows and forehead banged up, but she presses forward with the belly attack and Bailee’s counters slacken, but she is still fighting to the bell, Natalie emerges with the close won round this time. Bailee breathing hard and dripping sweat. Natalie’s dripping sweat too and she’s got reddened swollen areas around her, but her satisfied smile shows they don’t much matter.

R3: Bailee and Natalie waste little time in getting to mid ring and resuming the pressure battle. Elbows are moving like piston rods as the two dig in and fight it out in the trenches with body busting punching. Breasts, ribcage and stomach all under attack from both fighters and they show a lot of determination in hanging in there toe to toe as thy are both taking a lot of punishment in order to strike at the other. Natalie starts circling and then counter-circling. This throws off Bailee just enough for Natalie to get a quick right to the brunette’s jaw. Bailee’s head whipped around and she tries to wobble away. Natalie trying to keep up, starts lunging to get in her punches, but Bailee suddenly comes back with a right to the mouth that splits Natalie’s lower lip. Bailee able to stabilize behind her jab, but Natalie ignoring the blood dribbling down her chin and maintain the pressure. Rounds ends in another close decision, but again it goes to Natalie Alyn Lind.

R4: Bailee to show more movement this round by engaging Natalie in a circle-and-punch battle. Bailee proving good at stepping in with the punch and then pulling back to evade the counter. Natalie now having trouble keeping up with the nimble Bailee and finally tries charging in. This quickly turns into another toe to toe pressure battle, but Bailee bobbing and weaving, taking punches but firing back to the body. Then she spots an opening up top and sends a smashing right that strikes Natalie full in the left eye. Natalie recoiling but manages to blunt Natalie’s follow-up with the jab. Bailee keeps pressing, but Natalie blunting the advance with her jab. They fight to the bell and, in fact, referee has to jump in when they don’t seem to hear the bell. Judges decide this close fought round belongs on Bailee Madison’s side of the card.

R5: Bailee very determined to storm Fort Natalie had take the blonde down. She smacks her hard to the jaw with an opening right cross and follow-up left hook. Natalie thrown on the defensive then gets worked over to the body and she pulls back as fast as she can. Bailee in pursuit, getting some long range punches to bounce off blonde noggin as she works to cut off the ring and herd Natalie to the ropes. Natalie under pressure, but working to avoid the ropes and watching the brunette carefully, Natalie then makes a move to the left as though to escape that way, Bailee quickly moving to block, but suddenly Natalie is moving right and she brings a powerhouse right crashing into Bailee’s temple. BAILEE MADISON GOES DOWN! Bailee topples forward onto her face and then pushes herself up on her hands and knees. Bailee slowly shaking her head as referee is starting to count. She slowly rises and is able to beat the count. Action resumes, but Bailee now all covered up and Natalie unable to finish her off. Bailee looking stunned as she goes to her corner. She had been winning the round when suddenly the lights went out and Natalie had stolen the stanza. Natalie nursing a swelling red circle of pain around her left eye, but looks quite pleased with herself as she sits on her stool.

R6: Dani Fishel looking doubtful during the break as she examines her charge. She thinking of throwing in the towel? Bailee seen pleading her case to continue, Apparently Bailee wins the argument as she comes out at the bell looking eager to turn things around. Natalie seems very patient, letting Bailee start to throw punches at her as she moves evasively to blunt their impacts, Bailee pressing forward, trying to strike at Natalie’s head as that swollen left eye seems too tempting a target to ignore. Natalie letting her come in close and then strikes with a cobra-like right uppercut to the chin, Bailee suddenly freezes. Natalie drives two hooks into Bailee’s stomach to double her forward and then brings another right uppercut into the brunette’s chin! BAILEE TOPPLES BACKWARDS AND CRASHES TO THE CANVAS ARMS AND LEGS FLOPPING AS SHE BOUNCES FROM THE IMPACT. Natalie looking down with glee until referee orders her to neutral corner. Bailee’s eyes flutter open to find herself looking up at the lights. She rolls to one side and tries to push herself up, but the strength seems to have gone out of her body. She looks up in misery at the referee as he counts:

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!... YOU’RE OUT!

THE WINNER OF HER DEBUT FIGHT NATALIE ALYN LIND DEFEATS BAILEE MADISON KO6!

After: Natalie Alyn Lind does an impressive victory leap as the crowd cheers. She runs around the ring waving and skipping in happiness. Meanwhile, Dani Fishel helps a dazed and teary Bailee Madison back to her corner for a quick check.

“She got me! I can’t believe she got me!” Bailee moans.

“It happens,” Dani is telling her, “she got the better of you, but you looked good out there.”

“You think so?” Bailee asks in a quavering voice.

“Don’t let her soft soap you—I kicked your ‘Good Girl’ ass tonight and I loved every minute of it!” Bailee and Dani look up to see Natalie standing there arms on hips with a triumphant grin on her face.

“You tell yourself that in the morning when you look in the mirror and see that big black eye and the split lip I gave you!” Bailee snaps.

“Well, yeah, okay, you did get me there,” Natalie admitted touching the now swollen and rapidly discoloring area around her left eye and wincing.

“I suppose you want to Walk me?” Bailee asks sullently. 

“Sure—why else would I come over here—it’s not like that I care I knocked you out and wanted to be sure you weren’t hurt or something. I’m the Heartless Bad Girl. I just want to see if you’re in shape to give me my first victory walk,” Natalie said.

“Well, I guess you earned it,: Bailee said. “I am okay, aren’t I Dani?”

“We’ll have the doc look at you, but I think you are up for a little walk,:” Dani said to Bailee and then she turned to Natalie: “You watch her. Anything looks funny you forget the walk and get her back here.”

“Yes ma’am!” Natalie blurts out.

“The name is “Dani’ not ‘ma’am’.” Danielle said helping Bailee to her feet.

“Yes ma—I mean Dani,” Natalie said getting a supportive arm around Bailee’s waist. She lowered her voice. “I always watched your fights growing up. I am pleased to finally meet you, Dani.”

“Thank you, now take good care of my girl. She fought hard, but you were better—tonight. Remember that Natalie—one fight doesn’t make a career around here.” Dani said.

“Don’t I know it,” Natalie sighed, “Come Bailee, time for the Bad Girl to show off the Good Girl.”

“I wish you would stop calling me the Good Girl like it’s a crime or something.” Bailee complained as they started out.

“Good Girls vs Bad Girls. Faces vs Heels. The fans love it and we all have our roles. I’ve picked mine, you really should stick with yours, it suits you better,.” Natalie said chattily.

“I would argue that with you about, but I just want to get this over with so I can lie down and rest,” Bailee sighed.

Natalie laughed: “To tell the truth I could use some too. I won’t make this any longer than it has to be.”
With that they moved on around the ring….

Lively debut contest. Too bad someone had to lose, but Natalie Alyn Lind did knock out Bailee Madison to record her first “W” and first “KO” wins. No fun to get knocked out in your first try, but that’s boxing and hopefully Bailee Madison will have better ring luck next time. However Bailee and Natalie Lind are both left wondering when they will get their next bouts? There is seldom a shortage of unmanaged FCBA greenhorns and the future will likely be difficult unless one or both is lucky enough to be signed up by some stable., Certainly both show talent, but that does not always help in establishing an FCBA career. Bantam fans will be watching to see what happens next for both of these young fighters.
