Elizabeth Henstridge vs Leighton Meester

(Written by Girls Friday/Results by Lookout!)

(Girls Friday vs Free Agent)

Intro:
Two fighters hunting for big time success as Elizabeth Henstridge
fights Leighton Meester with flyweight gold they hope at the end of
the road they are on.
Elizabeth is 30 years old, stands at 5'4 and holds a record of 14
wins, all by knockout and only 2 defeats.
Leighton is 31 years old, stands at 5'5 and holds a record of 26 wins,
22 by knockout and 24 defeats.
When the fighters met at the press event for photos, Elizabeth looked
her normally bubbly self with her big smile, while Leighton looked
annoyed by the situation, maybe to do with the press themselves as she
looks at them with a not so friendly expression.
At their tables, Elizabeth is asked to speak first "I honestly can't
believe I've gotten this close to the end of the year and haven't
lost, I keep having to slap myself to make sure this is real" laughing
as she thinks about it.
"I have to work even harder now as Leighton is far from a push over, I
got to see her fight last month in person for the first time against
Cheryl (Cole) boy was that a fight! I will have to use everything in
my arsenal to beat her" says the Brit as she nods her respect over to
Leighton.
Who begins her own speech with "I want a word with you journalists, I
have heard people say that maybe I'm showing my true colours and that
I had it easy in the bubble at Front street" her voice getting louder
as she is clearly unhappy.
Adding "look nothing against you Elizabeth, but I have to go out there
and destroy you, just so this lot understand that I am not some
powderpuff fighter, I am the real deal around here and that means
owning the ring every time I step foot in it"
Leighton storms off before any questions are asked, journalists all
mumbling about their headlines about this, while Elizabeth sits
dumbfounded before leaving the stage.
Fight night, Elizabeth is out first with Lauren Berlingeri and Eva
Carneiro by her side, her smile as wide as usual as she jogs down to
the ring.
She is wearing a grey sports bra, trunks with a white Agents of Shield
badge on the left leg, grey gloves and shoes as well as her brunette
hair in a ponytail.
After stepping into the ring, Elizabeth waves to the fans as she does
a lap, before settling into her warm up in her corner.
Now out comes Leighton, she has a deeply serious look as she heads to
the ring, her coach behind her as she stares at Elizabeth.
She is wearing a black sports bra, black trunks with "Meester" in
white letters, black gloves, shoes and her own brunette hair is up in
a ponytail.
Climbing into the ring, she raises her right arm up to acknowledge the
crowd but is quickly back into utter focus as she starts warming up.
As the fighters come to the ring centre, Leighton is quick to square
up to Elizabeth, the American trying to intimidate her opponent as
Elizabeth looks her up and down.
Asked to touch gloves, they slap their gloves together before jogging
back to their corners, the referee signals for the bell to start 10
rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Out come the fighters, Elizabeth flickering out jabs early on, but
Leighton clearly wants to get stuck in early, landing a stiff left
through the mitts of Henstridge, before landing a right across her
cheek.
Leighton backing Elizabeth around the ring as the Brit has to defend
against an early onslaught, taking a flurry of punches onto her
gloves.
A right straight digs it's way into the face of Elizabeth, allowing
Leighton to add two more punches across the left cheek of Henstridge
to push her onto the ropes.
Elizabeth needing to fight back hard, the fighters slug it out in
tight, Leighton working the body of her opponent; almost trying to
push Liz through the ropes.
The English fighter needing to clinch up as Leighton gets the better
of the exchange, the referee needed to separate the girls, with Liz
moving into space.
Leighton continues to step forwards, using her jab to measure up her
opponent, before firing the harder right punches at the head of
Elizabeth.
Henstridge needing to move and stay on the defensive, she is clearly
rattled by the speed and furiousness of the attack from Meester.
The bell rings with Leighton just about holding back as she looks to
prove her point to the press as quickly and as effectively as
possible.
While Elizabeth almost looks like she wants to slap herself, Lauren
telling her "it's OK Liz, keep your head up; we should have factored
her mindset into this but now we know how to work against her"
Round 2:
Leighton continues to come quickly forwards, landing to the gloves of
Elizabeth, whose dancing around her; trying to keep from being hit
with a power punch.
Both land straight punches through the others guard as they move
around the ring, Leighton manages to slip inside a straight and digs a
right into the abs of Elizabeth.
Leighton powers forwards with three more short sharp body punches and
a right over the top to the side of her opponent's head to knock her
back a step.
Elizabeth having to cover up tight as she takes several punches onto
her gloves and forearms, before the next barrage finds itself landing
around her guard.
Meester though leaves herself open up the centre, something Elizabeth
uses to her advantage by stepping inside and throwing uppercuts, the
first landing to knock the American back onto her heels.
The follow up lands on Leighton's arms, but Elizabeth is just happy to
not be under constant assault, instead both are landing straight
punches to the others faces.
Elizabeth moving more easily around now as the fighters circle, the
Brit starting to counter Leighton coming in as she leans out the way
of hooks, landing straight punches to the nose and lips of Meester.
The bell soon rings with Elizabeth looking calmer, hoping the storm
has passed as Leighton doesn't look too bothered, happy with her work
so far to lead the fight.
Both fighters getting the sweat wiped off their heads and bodies,
Elizabeth's face looks the more marked up of the two fighters so far.
Round 3:
Leighton looking more controlled now as both fighters circle and land
to the face of each other, the American looking to get to the inside
with a double jab to the gloves of Henstridge.
Then she lands her right into the ribs of Elizabeth, forcing a groan
from the English girl as she starts to push her towards a corner.
Elizabeth leaning out the way of a right hook and snapping two
straight punches to the top of her head, then adding a left cross to
the cheek of Leighton.
Now it's Elizabeth starting to back Leighton up as she stings the face
of her opponent with punches slipping between the gloves of the
slightly older fighter.
Leighton shoves Elizabeth back to create some space, then both start
going toe to toe, slamming punches across the others face as they try
to knock each other back.
But Leighton gets too caught up in the action to see what Elizabeth is
doing, the Shield star slips back out the way of a right hook and
comes back in with a straight to the lips of Meester.
She lands a right cross up top to turn Leighton's head and a follow up
left to the ribs to cause a loud groan to escape her fellow brunette's
lips.
Adding another straight that cuts the bottom lip of Meester just
before the bell rings to end the round, Elizabeth looking happy that
she finally looks to be on the scoreboard points wise.
Leighton though looks annoyed at herself, rubbing her bloody lip with
her glove to see the damage she took because of her mistake, her eyes
burn a hold through her opponent as she clearly won't let this stand.
Round 4:
Leighton tries to rush Elizabeth from the bell, the disrespect she
feels she's gotten since being cut from Front Street seems to be
fuelling her as she slams her punches into the guard of her opponent.
But Elizabeth knows what to expect, she moves around Leighton, not
sticking in front of her as she doesn't want to be knocked out,
instead letting her opponent wear herself out.
An opening appears for Henstridge soon enough, stepping in as she
ducks under a right cross, she comes up with an overhand right that
catches Leighton across the top of her head.
Leighton stumbles to the side a few steps and tries to get her gloves
up, but she doesn't get them up in time to stop a straight punch
slamming into that bloody lip.
A massive howl of agony escapes the lips of Meester as she takes a
left and right to those lips, her guard starting to fail her as her
mind isn't working properly with pain shooting into it.
LEIGHTON TRIES TO SWING WITH A RIGHT BUT GETS BEATEN TO THE PUNCH WITH
AN UPPERCUT LANDING ON HER CHIN, PUTTING HER SQUARELY ON HER BACKSIDE!
she looks stunned as the referee begins his count 1....2...3 she wipes
more bloody from her lips as it drips onto her jugs, 5...6.. Before
her brain realises what's happening and she starts to push herself up
8...9.. She beats the count as she starts looking a little wobbly.
The referee checks Leighton over but let's her continue, Elizabeth
wisely not rushing in, measuring her opponent up with her jab as
Meester tries to keep her guard tight till she is fully recovered.
A jab slams into the abs of Leighton, before a right cross lands to
her ribs, Elizabeth working the body with seconds to go in the round.
The bell rings to end the round with Leighton looking shaken up, she
wanted to prove she isn't defined by her stable, but as she sits on
her stool; you have to wonder if she'd make these mistakes with a
coach like Neve Campbell?
In the other corner, Elizabeth takes on fluids and looks cool and
collected, her eyes seem to be on the prize as she stares right at
Leighton.
Round 5:
Leighton looks to try to use her boxing skills, moving more up on her
toes as she tries to move side to side instead of straight on.
PROBLEM IS SHE ISN'T FULLY RECOVERED, A STRAIGHT FINDS ITS WAY ONTO
HER BLOODY LIPS AND A RIGHT HOOK CRACKS HER ACROSS HER CHEEK TO MAKE
HER KNEES WOBBLE, A FOLLOW UP COMBO OF TWO PUNCHES PUT HER DOWN!
the referee checks her over, he sees she has her eyes closed and isn't
stirring, waving over to the timekeeper that she is completely out of
it and this fight is over.

Winner Elizabeth Henstridge KO Round 5

After:
Elizabeth is now up to 10 and 0 for the year in the FCBA and overall
has won her last 13 in both organizations! The majority of that run
could be billed as beating small fish, but beating Cassie Scerbo, Mila
Kunis and now Leighton is no easy feat.
Her main thought once the rush of winning disappears is her opponents
safety, the doctor using the trusted smelling salts to wake up
Leighton, who bloody lip has left it's stain on the canvas.
Leighton sits up and Elizabeth looks relieved as Meester looks to be
mostly OK, Leighton saying "did a truck hit me there?" As Elizabeth
hugs her.
Meester's coach helps up Leighton once she isn't being hugged and
helps her out the ring to take her to the back, she is tearing up as
she thinks of headlines on this performance.
While Elizabeth looks a little worried for Leighton, but Lauren pats
her on her back and tells her "let's keep this going till at least the
end of the year" both girls smiling as Eva looks stunned at the blood
on Elizabeth's gloves.
The physio remembering when she first met Elizabeth and she didn't
look like she could hurt a fly, now though she has that killer
instinct that makes her so dangerous and she is still a sweet person.
Elizabeth herself does a lap inside the ring, shouting her thanks to
her fans as she sees her ever faithful group of young girls with her
T-Shirt sitting in the crowd and holds her hands to her chest to show
that she loves them.
Before she leaves the ring and heads off to her own stables locker
room, where she goes now will be interesting to say the least, who
will want to snap this unbeaten streak?
