Kaya Scodelario versus Claire Danes

(Girls Friday vs Hawkeye International Sports Consortium)

Intro:
A tough hitting bantamweight contest now as Kaya Scodelario looks to
beat a legend of the division in Claire Danes on PPV.
Kaya is 25 years old, stands at 5'6 and holds a record of 18 wins, all
by knockout and has 4 losses.
Claire is 38 years old, stands at 5'5 1/2, her record stands at 91
wins, 45 by knockout, 52 defeats and 1 draw, she is also a former 6
time champion (4x Flyweight champion, 2x Bantamweight champion)
The girls met at the press conference with tension in the air, both
knowing a win here keeps them in the title hunt going towards next
year, a loss most likely puts them down the pecking order.
They get the photos taken together without a hint of a smile, the face
off ones look like they are ready to throw down now.
They hold back though as they head to their tables, Kaya getting the
chance to speak first as she looks serious, saying "first I have to
say this is one of those bucket list fights, Claire is up there with
the greatest to ever step foot in an FCBA ring"
Continuing with "but I need this win; this would prove I belong in the
top of the rankings, that I will have a legendary career of my own,
that is what is at stake for me and I will use everything I have"
Claire nodding before replying "I get where Kaya is coming from, to
think I was once in her shoes and after winning title after title, I
am where I am now that people want to rip pieces off me to define
themselves"
But she adds "Kaya though darling, I am not going to roll over for you
and frankly I don't see anything that makes me think you are worthy to
take that spot" that of course gets a scowl from Kaya.
Which doesn't bother Claire as she finishes with "and for Chloe
(Bennett) I expect a call once I'm done here, I want my title back and
she certainly doesn't frighten me one bit" smiling as she walks off
stage, with Kaya storming off the other side.
Fight night, Kaya comes out with Taryn Terrell and Eva Carneiro by her
side, she looks totally focused as she marches down to the ring.
She is wearing a chequered red and black sports bra, matching trunks
and red gloves and shoes, her brunette hair is braided.
Climbing into the ring, she nods to the fans but jogs over to her
corner to begin warming up with help from her team.
Now out comes Claire to a loud cheer, the ever popular legend smiling
as she waves to the fans, she has Priyanka Chopra working her corner
tonight as the two stablemates chat on the way to the ring about the
gameplan.
Claire is wearing a dark blue sports bra, trunks with "Danes" in
yellow on her waistband, blue gloves and shoes while her blonde hair
is in a ponytail.
Climbing into the ring with a warm smile on her face in contrast to
the stony look on her opponent's face, she begins her own warm up with
Priyanka's help.
Soon they are brought to the ring centre, their eyes locked as they
stare each other down, the crowd hush slightly themselves as they are
enthralled by the looks on the fighters face.
Asked to touch gloves, it takes a moment as the stare down continues,
then they touch them up before jogging quickly to their corners.
The referee looks happy enough to signal for the bell to start 10
rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Out come both fighters, Kaya looking slightly more lighter on her toes
as the girls dance around each other, they test the others reflexes
early on as they've seen how dangerous the other is.
Claire ups the tempo first by bobbing out the way of a straight aimed
at her nose and steps in to lash two right hands across the cheek of
the Brit.
That allows her to land another right and a left, this time to the
body of Scodelario as she drives her onto her heels.
But the youngster finds her feet in time to move away from the ropes
as Claire nearly gets her onto them, Kaya lands a jab to the cheek of
Danes as she moves around her.
As the girls meet near the ring centre, it's Kaya who takes the action
to Claire, parrying a right to step inside and lands two punches
across the ribs of the blonde.
Before she leans out the way of a counter left cross, that leaves
Claire open to two straight punches to the center of her face, forcing
the legend behind her gloves.
Kaya powers forwards with a flurry of punches slamming onto the gloves
of Claire, the older fighter having to take the barrage and hope she
can find a way to fight back.
As her back touches the ropes, Claire starts to fight back, both girls
really going for it as the 10 second buzzer sounds, no real technique
at this stage, just wanting to win the round.
The bell sounds with both fighters already shoving each other back,
their tempers making them scowl at their rival, before heading to
their corners.
The crowd debating who won that round? Claire starting sound; before
Kaya started to motor on, the girls know that too as they stare across
the ring at each other.

Round 2:
Both fighters meet in the ring centre, trading shots to the others
defenses as they circle around each other, the tension in the ring is
there for all to see as they glare through their guards.
Kaya this time is the one to parry a right so she can step forwards
with two straight punches to the top of her opponent's head.
The youngster keeping the pressure on as she keeps Claire behind her
guard with a four punch combo, before Claire manages to move into
space with some nifty footwork.
The girls fall in tight as Claire steps inside to land to the cheeks
of Kaya with two cross punches, but the brunette fires back.
Both slug it out as they try to shove each other back, Kaya steps back
as Claire swings a right at the head of the Brit, missing by inches.
But it leaves Claire open to a straight onto her lips and two follow
up shots to her ribs, making the American groan out as she covers up.
Kaya pinning her back with her jab, looking to open up the guard of
Danes to do some real damage, she looks frustrated as the veteran
fighter shows off the tough guard she's honed off years of fighting.
Instead Claire leans out the way of a right hook and counters with a
double jab to the lips of Scodelario, before driving forwards with
four body shots eating away at the energy of the youngster.
As the round heads into it's final moments, it's Claire who is
controlling the action with her head movement keeping Kaya missing and
her punches heading through the gaps left behind.
Adding a right cross to the ribs of Kaya and an overhand left to end
the round, Claire jogs back to her corner with a focused look on her
face.
While Kaya looks annoyed; her coach Taryn giving her a warning "don't
lose your focus! This isn't some rookie you are fighting, this is one
of the greats" that seems to get Kaya out of her funk as she nods and
stares hard at Claire.

Round 3:
The girls head to the ring centre again, Claire looks to keep in close
to Kaya, digging her jab into the abs of the youngster and moving her
head out the way of any counters.
Kaya swings a right at the top of Claire's head, Danes ducking under
before coming up with an overhand right to knock Scodelario onto her
heels.
The Homeland star starts to throw multiple punches at the guard of
Kaya, keeping her on the defence as she backs her around the ring.
Claire smartly keeping watch for any counter punches, leans out the
way of an attempted left cross, before coming in with two hooks to the
body of the brunette to make her gasp out in pain.
Kaya seemingly can't get going this round as Claire continues to keep
her pinned back behind her guard with her jab snapping onto it, the
right thudding into the side of her opponent.
Now Kaya waits for the jab, parrying it and stepping inside as both
fighters almost fighting like flyweights, moving in tight to trade,
before moving to create some space to cleanly catch the other on the
face.
But Claire again takes control by feinting a straight and then lands a
left cross to turn Kaya's head, Kaya is stuck fighting off her heels
as the blonde is able to land through her guard.
The round ends with Claire turning and jogging back to her corner to
Priyanka, whose full of praise for her stablemate on a great
performance that round, washing the sweat from her face and body as
Claire sits and continues to focus on Kaya.
Who in her corner is getting her face worked on as her left cheek is
looking slightly swollen, Kaya staring at her gloves, telling herself
"I can do this" to keep her head in the game.

Round 4:
Claire looks to keep on top of this fight with her plan to keep Kaya
near the ropes, try and stop her working as she jabs away at the abs
and head of the youngster.
But Kaya looks to understand that she needs to use her speed, moving
back and forth to keep Claire guessing where she is going to be.
The brunettes punches start to find their way more cleanly through the
guard of Claire, snapping her head back with straight punches.
Till Claire gets sick of that, nearly clashing heads as she steps
inside the reach of Kaya to dig in two body shots and a left over the
top to the side of Scodelario's head.
Now Claire is controlling the action as she backs Kaya towards the
ropes, till Kaya times her attack; parries a right so she can move to
that side and lands a left cross to the cheek of Danes.
Who finds herself being knocked onto her heels, Kaya finding it hard
to break down the impressive guard of Claire, till she switches her
targets up.
Slamming her punches into the flanks of Claire, the blonde tries to
open up to strike back, but it just allows Kaya to move out the way of
her punches before countering through the gaps.
Claire is finding herself being driven onto the ropes, blood is
flowing from a cut on her eyebrow as Kaya works it over with straight
punches.
The veteran though pushes Kaya to her jugs to open up a jab and then
cracks her across her temple with a right that stuns the Brit.
Kaya forced to cover up as she is now being knocked back across the
ring, the bell sounds to end the round before Claire can press her
advantage even more.
Neither fighter looking particularly happy as Kaya slowly heads to her
corner, shaking her head to clear the cobwebs as she really got caught
badly.
While Claire wanted to end the fight badly, the ringside doctor
watching to see if the Hawkeye's cutwoman can stop the bleeding, he
looks satisfied as nods that she can fight on, both fighters already
looking hurt in this back and forth fight.

Round 5:
Kaya looking defensive as Claire comes out hunting her down, the
youngster still showing some effects of being dazed it seems, trying
to keep her guard tight up top.
That leaves her body unprotected as Claire starts to target it with
stiff jabs and straights, Kaya grunting each time she gets hit, trying
to keep on the move.
But Claire forces her onto the ropes, really working away hard on the
body of Kaya, sweat being knocked off into the air from Scodelario's
body.
She's forced to clinch up to stop the assault, both fighters wrestling
with each other on the ropes as they snarl and trade insults.
The referee is needed to pry the girls apart, Claire looks anxious to
get at Kaya, with the youngster needing to jab and move away.
Claire though is looking to get in close and finish this, she parries
a jab and just about misses with a left hook as Kaya leans out the
way.
The blonde backing Claire up towards the ropes once more as she slams
her punches into Kaya's gloves, Kaya retreating under the assault.
Till her back touches the ropes, Kaya sees something evidently as
Claire opens up to land a hook, Kaya beats her to the punch with an
uppercut as she steps forwards.
Claire's head snaps back with sweat flying into the air; somehow she
stays standing as Kaya lashes out with two right hands that wobble
Danes.
The round ends though before Kaya can put down her opponent, Claire
wipes some blood from her left eye as that cut on her eyebrow has
reopened.
The Hawkeye corner looking worried as they work on patching her up for
the next round, Priyanka trying to rally her friends spirits "you've
hurt her once, just wait for another chance"
While in the other corner, Kaya needs to be washed down herself, her
face looks swollen and she still looks a little shaken herself as her
body gets iced up, the crowd sensing the next round could be key.

Round 6:
Both fighters come out hard to start the round, getting in tight to
work each others body over, Claire really looks to be gritting her
gumshield as she tries to work her opponent back.
But as Kaya opens a little space between them with a quick step back,
the Brit lands a hard right cross that turns Claire's head around.
Danes is still clearly rattled as she stumbles back a step, Kaya right
on her with two straight punches that connect with her nose to add
more woe to the blonde.
Blood starts trickling slowly from the nose of Claire and a right to
that eye starts the eyebrow off bleeding once again, forcing Claire to
cover up as tight as she can.
Kaya doesn't look interested in letting her off the hook, nudging
Claire with her left and trying to swing an uppercut between the
gloves of Claire, who just about blocks it.
Claire is doing her best to ride the storm out, moving around as much
as she can so Kaya can't bulldoze right through her.
The problem is Kaya has the better footwork and looks to be growing in
confidence as the round goes on, her punches digging into the body of
Claire to force her back.
As Claire's back touches the ropes, she tries to fire back like Kaya
did the last round, she misses though as Scodelario sees her gear up
for the shot.
Instead Claire takes a stiff right to that eye that forces her back
onto the ropes, Kaya teeing off on her head as seconds tick away in
the round.
The bell rings with Claire leaning on the ropes, her face looks a real
mess now after that beating, with blood running from the nose and cut.
Priyanka has to help Claire back to her stool as she stumbles on her
way, Claire won't admit defeat yet though as she argues with her coach
and friend, the Hawkeye's cutwoman doing their best to patch her up.
In the other corner, Kaya seems to have shaken off her own troubles
and looks raring to finish this, Taryn warning her to be careful,
pointing out that Claire is still dangerous, even like a wounded
animal.

Round 7:
Claire is up and trying her best to get back into the fight, both
girls letting rip across the others face, till Danes stumbles after a
stiff straight hits her nose.
KAYA STEPS IN TO LAND A RIGHT HOOK THAT PUTS CLAIRE DOWN TO HER SIDE!
The crowd look stunned but the pundits expected it after the beating
she's taken.
1....2....3.. The referee begins his count with Kaya standing in a
neutral corner staring hard at Claire 4...5... To the surprise of
everyone; Claire stirs as she pulls herself towards the ropes,
6...7... Claire uses the ropes to pull herself up, beating the count
at 9!
The referee looks ready to stop this, but Claire puts her gloves up
and even waves Kaya on, he warns her she has to show fight or he will
end it, which gets a nod.
BUT AS THE FIGHT CONTINUES, ANOTHER RIGHT TO HER FACE REELS HER ONTO
THE ROPES, AFTER A BEATING ACROSS HER FACE, THE REFEREE STEPS IN TO
END THE FIGHT!

Winner: Kaya Scodelario TKO Round 7

After:
This is the biggest win so far in Kaya's career; quite possibly her
toughest as she heads straight to her corner to sit down and get a
drink to get her energy back.
Priyanka points that out to Claire as she helps her to her stool,
though it isn't much comfort to her now as she sits with her head
down.
The crowd applauds both fighters as they get cleaned up for such a
hard fought battle, Kaya smiling as she looks around at them, while
Claire just ignores them.
Kaya stands up as soon as she feels strong enough, raising her fists
into the air as she smiles warmly to her fans, feeling so proud of
herself for taking down a true legend.
Claire though just wants to be in the stable locker room, giving Kaya
a hard stare as Priyanka helps her up onto her feet, clearly not happy
that she's lost.
The Hawkeye's team heading out the ring as Kaya just stares at them,
clearly some issues of respect still have to be worked out between
these two women, maybe it won't be too long till that happens.
For now though, Kaya simply wants to celebrate as the referee raises
her hand to the crowd and she hugs her coaching team to show her
thanks.
She can be heard telling Taryn "I wonder who I have to beat next;
bring on everyone!" As she beams, Taryn simply replying "I'd heal up
first before fighting the entire division"
The Girls Friday women all smiles as they head up the ramp together,
Kaya getting onto a major roll once more, it will be interesting to
see who wants a piece next of her.
